Reinforced mechanical hemostasis clip
A device for treating a tissue includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough, clip arms, proximal ends of which are slidably received within the channel of the capsule so that the clip arms are movable between an open configuration, in which distal ends of the clip arms extend distally past the distal end of the capsule to be separated from one another, and a closed configuration, in which the clip arms are restrained via an interior surface of the capsule so that distal ends of the clips arms are drawn toward one another, and a reinforcement element coupled to the clip arms, the reinforcement element preventing deflection of the clip arms when engaging a target tissue.
SUTURING CLIP
Suturing clips which may be guided to a heart by a trans-vascular/trans-septal approach, and yet operate to close the left atrial appendage (LAA) from a position located entirely within the LAA are described. Arms of suturing clips constructed of a superelastic alloy are expanded from a catheter delivery system, anchored within the LAA and/or ostium of the LAA, and then collapsed again to a suturing configuration. Collapse is optionally by a reverting mechanism, wherein arms are constrained to collapse back in a direction reverse to their original expansion; or by an everting mechanism, wherein arm portions move past their expanded position to close with each other on an opposite side of their original position. In some embodiments, delivery systems include further elements to assist in clip placement at the LAA, for example a spreader for spreading the LAA, and/or a stopper for preventing deep intrusion to the LAA.
LOCK FOR MEDICAL DEVICES, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A lock for positioning a first medical device with respect to a second medical device includes a spacer for preventing advancement of the first medical device towards the second medical device. The spacer is movable between a lock position and an unlock position. In the lock position, the spacer is moved transverse to the longitudinal axis with respect to the unlock position. The lock further includes a rotary stop integral with the spacer for fixing the rotational position of the first medical device with respect to the second medical device. The lock further includes a clip integral with the spacer and removably securable to the first medical device in a first position to secure the spacer in the unlock position, and removably securable to the first medical device in a second position to secure the spacer in the lock position.
DEVICES FOR APPROXIMATING TISSUE AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
Devices for approximating multiple tissue edges internal to a body are disclosed.
Devices and methods for assisting cardiac function
Devices and methods for assisting cardiac function. In an exemplary embodiment of a device for assisting heart function of the present disclosure, the device includes a first plate and an opposing second plate, each plate having an inner surface, a cardiac processor coupled to at least one of the first plate and the second plate, a bladder having an inner chamber and disposed between the inner surfaces, and a first catheter having a proximal end in communication with the inner chamber of the bladder and a distal end having a first pericardial balloon coupled thereto, wherein a gas and/or a liquid within the inner chamber of the bladder can be injected into the first pericardial balloon upon compression of the first plate relative to the second plate, and wherein the gas and/or the liquid can be removed from the first pericardial balloon upon retraction of the first plate relative to the second plate.
Triple pronged clip
A device for treating tissue includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lumen extending therein and a clip slidably received within the lumen of the capsule. The clip includes a middle prong, a first outer prong and a second outer prong. The first prong is coupled to the middle prong so that the first prong is movable relative to the middle prong between a first open configuration and a first closed configuration. The second outer prong coupled to the middle prong so that the second prong is movable relative to the middle prong between a second open configuration and a second closed configuration. The first and second outer prongs are independently movable relative to the middle prong to be moved between the first and second open configurations to the first and second open configurations and the first and second closed configurations.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR CLOSURE OF OPENINGS IN TISSUE
The present disclosure relates to the field of tissue closures including medical devices that close openings in tissue during a surgical procedure. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices that transition from a constrained to an unconstrained configuration to engage tissue on opposing sides of a tissue opening, and hold opposing tissue portions together to maintain the opening in a closed configuration.
Hemostasis clip with collapsible capsule
A clipping device includes a capsule including a longitudinal body and a cap mounted over a distal end thereof so that the cap is movable relative to the longitudinal body from a pre-deployed configuration to a deployed configuration in which the cap, is moved proximally relative to the longitudinal body to reduce a length of the capsule. A channel of the cap and a channel of the capsule are substantially aligned with respect to one another. At least proximal portions of a pair of clip arms are received within the channels of the cap and the longitudinal body so that the clip arms are movable relative to the capsule between an open configuration, in which distal ends of the clip arms are separated from one another, and a closed configuration, in which the distal ends of the clip arms are drawn toward one another.
Reloadable and rotatable clip
A system for treating tissue includes a clip assembly having a pair of clip arms. Proximal ends of the clip arms engage a distal portion of a central member slidably received within a channel of a capsule to be moved between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The central member includes the distal portion and a proximal portion connected to one another via a releasable connection which releases when subject to a force exceeding a predetermined threshold level. The system also includes an applicator releasably coupled to the clip assembly. The applicator includes an outer sleeve through which a control member extends. A distal end of the control member engages a cavity of the proximal portion to move the central member relative to the capsule. A lumen of the outer sleeve is sized and shaped to slidably receive the capsule therein.
TROCAR SITE CLOSURE CLIP
A trocar site closure clip includes a generally triangular central body, a pair of arms extending from the body, and an elongated support extending from the body between the arms. In use, the clip is advanced into a patient through a trocar, the trocar removed, then the clip partially retracted to engage and pierce the patients tissue. The biodegradable clip remains in the patients tissue, at least partially blocking the trocar site, and degrades over time as the patient heals.
