Closure devices that selectively control blood flow between the right atrium and the left atrium of a heart of a patient. The control of blood flow can be based on detected values from a pressure sensor. The closure devices can include a body configured to engage native tissue when the device is deployed across the septal wall. In a first state at least a portion of (an inner surface of) a lumen is closed, preventing blood flow through the closure device. Ina second state, the lumen is open to enable blood flow from the left atrium to the right atrium. A closure element can be selectively adjusted to control the flow of blood through the lumen. A volume of an expandable chamber can be increased or decreased to place the closure device into the first state or the second state.

Occluder and anastomosis devices

An implantable medical device for sealing and repairing defects in a body tissue or for creating an anastomosis includes a frame and a covering material. In some embodiments, the frame includes a single continuously wound wire that defines an apposition portion, a defect-occupying portion, and a sealing portion. In some embodiments, the tissue-sealing and anastomosis devices provided herein are well-suited for use in the GI tract including the small bowel and colon. In some embodiments, a two-part frame construct facilitates independent tailoring of apposition forces and radial forces exerted on tissues by the two-part frame.

Devices and methods for coronary sinus pressure relief

A method and devices for relieving pressure in the left atrium of a patient's heart is disclosed. The method includes using an ablative catheter in a minimally invasive procedure to prepare an opening from the coronary sinus into a left atrium of the patient's heart. Once the opening is prepared, the opening may be enlarged by a technique such as expanding a balloon within the opening. A stent is then placed within the coronary sinus of the patient, with a transverse portion expanding within the opening, allowing blood to flow from the left atrium to the coronary sinus and then to the right atrium. Pressure within the left atrium is thus relieved.

An occluder includes a proximal occlusion portion. The proximal occlusion portion has a proximal end provided with a first converged member, and is provided with a conical guide structure on an outer periphery of the first converged member. The guide structure has an inner diameter gradually decreasing from a distal end to a proximal end. The guide structure provides a guiding performance to facilitate the occluder to be withdrawn into the sheath easily. An occluder fastening system is used in cooperation with the occluder.

The present invention is related to an occlusion device for occluding an opening in a body tissue and a method of deploying said occlusion device to the site of defect. The occlusion device comprises a flexible proximal high-pressure disc and a flexible distal low-pressure disc, that are centrally connected by a central connector section of varying diameter and length which further comprises a stretchable narrow connector at the tapered end, and retention screws. The design of the occlusion device of the present invention is such that it enables haemodynamic adjustment providing a better-fit to the size of the defect, and reduction of clamping force and stress on the conduction system.
