DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERY OF EXPANDABLE PROSTHESES
The present disclosure provides a variety of prostheses, delivery systems and techniques to facilitate closure of transvascular or transcameral access ports. Various embodiments of prostheses are provided including a plurality of radially expandable discs that can be filled with material to facilitate coagulation and to reduce or stop leakage from punctures in vessel walls.
ENGAGEMENT CATHETER DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS TO USE THE SAME UNDER SUCTIONAL TISSUE ENGAGEMENT
Engagement catheter devices, systems, and methods to use the same under suctional tissue engagement. A method of the present disclosure comprises the steps of engaging a targeted tissue under suction/vacuum using an engagement catheter, delivering a substance to, into, or through the targeted tissue from within a lumen of the engagement catheter, and injecting a fluid within a different lumen of the engagement catheter to flush the catheter and target tissue area with the fluid, and subsequently suctionally removing the injected fluid from the target area and lumens of the engagement catheter.
Engagement catheter devices, systems, and methods to use the same under suctional tissue engagement
Engagement catheter devices, systems, and methods to use the same under suctional tissue engagement. A method of the present disclosure comprises the steps of engaging a targeted tissue under suction/vacuum using an engagement catheter, delivering a substance into or through the targeted tissue using a needle positioned within a first lumen of the engagement catheter, injecting a fluid within the first lumen of the engagement catheter to flush at least part of the first lumen with the fluid, and suctionally removing the injected fluid from within the first lumen of the engagement catheter.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
A medical system includes a source of a material, a first tube, and a second tube. The material is configured to expand and form a porous body after the material is deployed into a body lumen. The first tube is configured to deliver the material into the body lumen, and the second tube is configured to apply suction to the porous body.
Retractable Tether in Apical Pad
An epicardial anchor system comprising a tether attachment member defining a portion of a tether passageway configured to receive a portion of a tether extending from a heart valve, a base having a rim defining a void along a circumference of the rim, and a tether capture device adjacent the tether attachment member and hingedly attached to the epicardial anchor, the tether capture device including an opening configured to receive the portion of the tether therethrough and a slot configured to capture the portion of the tether extending through the opening, and an actuation mechanism configured to flip the tether capture device from an unactuated condition to an actuated condition, wherein in the unactuated condition, the tether capture device is spaced from the void defined by the rim, and in the actuated condition, a first portion of the tether capture device is positioned within the void defined by the rim.
Steering engagement catheter devices, systems, and methods
Steering engagement catheter devices, systems, and methods of using the same for accessing a tissue, including internal and external tissues of a heart, are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a steering engagement catheter is provided, comprising an elongated tube having a proximal end, a distal end, and a first wall positioned circumferentially along a length of the elongated tube, the elongated tube configured such that a delivery catheter is capable of at least partial insertion into the elongated tube, at least one steering wire having a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the at least one steering wire coupled to the first wall of the elongated tube at or near the distal end of the elongated tube, and a controller operably coupled to the at least one steering wire at or near the proximal end of the at least one steering wire.
Devices and methods for treating fistulae and other bodily openings and passageways
Some aspects of the present invention are directed to unique products and methods for treating fistulae and other passageways and openings in the body. In some preferred forms, an inventive construct will include an elongate graft body that incorporates a plurality of sheet or sheet-like segments. The plurality of sheet or sheet-like segments, in some arrangements, will be stacked in a generally longitudinal direction along the length of the plug body, and optionally, the segments will be received over one or more elongate elements. Elongate elements of this sort can take a variety of forms including a suture, wire, filament, or other relatively thin-bodied elongate member, although in some forms, an elongate element will be or include a somewhat heftier structure such as a biodegradable or non-biodegradable three-dimensional body.
Occlusive medical device with cushioning member
An example occlusive implant is disclosed. The example occlusive implant includes a framework including a projection and a cushioning member coupled to the framework, the cushioning member including a first end region and a second end region opposite the first end region. Additionally, the first end region is coupled to the projection, the second end region is coupled to the framework and the cushioning member includes a curved portion designed to minimize trauma to a target site.
OCCLUDER MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device for treating a target site includes a body extending from a proximal end to a distal end along a central longitudinal axis, the body including a proximal disc adjacent the proximal end, a distal disc adjacent the distal end, and a waist extending between and connecting the proximal and distal discs. The body further includes an inner layer formed from a first braided self-expanding material and an outer layer formed from a second braided self-expanding material, wherein the outer layer surrounds the inner layer and is independent from the inner layer. Each of the proximal disc, the distal disc, and the waist are defined in part by each of the inner layer and the outer layer. The first braided self-expanding material includes a first number of wires and the second braided self-expanding material includes a second number of wires greater than the first number of wires.
Devices and methods for assisting cardiac function
Devices and methods for assisting cardiac function. In an exemplary embodiment of a device for assisting heart function of the present disclosure, the device includes a first plate and an opposing second plate, each plate having an inner surface, a cardiac processor coupled to at least one of the first plate and the second plate, a bladder having an inner chamber and disposed between the inner surfaces, and a first catheter having a proximal end in communication with the inner chamber of the bladder and a distal end having a first pericardial balloon coupled thereto, wherein a gas and/or a liquid within the inner chamber of the bladder can be injected into the first pericardial balloon upon compression of the first plate relative to the second plate, and wherein the gas and/or the liquid can be removed from the first pericardial balloon upon retraction of the first plate relative to the second plate.
