A handheld field maintenance tool with improved diagnostic functions is provided. The tool includes a process communication module configured to interact with a field device. A controller is coupled to the process communication module. The controller is configured to execute a number of improved diagnostic functions relative to the field device. The controller may obtain contextual information relative to a current field maintenance operation and preload at least one resource relative to a next field operation step. The controller may obtain process alarm information through a wireless communication module, and field device alert information through the process communication module and provide an indication on a display relative to both process alarm information and field device alert information. The controller may execute a sequence of field device maintenance operations on the field device in response to a signal from a user input device. The controller may obtain snapshot information in response to a signal from a user input device.

A handheld field maintenance tool is provided. The handheld field maintenance tool includes a process communication module configured to communicate with a field device. The handheld field maintenance tool also includes a display and a user input device. A controller is coupled to the process communication module, the user input device and the display and is configured to generate a listing of task-based field maintenance operations on the display and receive a user input selecting a task-based field maintenance operation. The controller is configured to automatically traverse a menu of the field device using a fast-key sequence relative to the selected task. Presenting field users on process graphics
A method, field user presenting arrangement and a computer program product for enabling an operator of a process control system to determine the location of field users in the process control system are provided. The arrangement includes a presentation control unit that obtains position data of the position of a field user, obtain the positions of objects in the process control system, compares the position of the field user with the positions of the objects, determines that the field user is in the vicinity of an object if the distance between the position of the field user and the position of the object is below a proximity threshold, and presents the field user on graphics depicting the process, where a field user deemed to be in the vicinity of an object is presented at this object in the graphics.

PLUMBING CONTROL DEVICE
A system for remotely measuring the characteristics of water passing through a plumbing control device (PCD)) includes a sensor within the interior of the PCD. The sensor is configured to measure characteristics of the water to obtain measured data. The sensor is also linked to a microcontroller of the PCD. An antenna board is linked, and configured to transmit power, to both the microcontroller and the sensor. A mobile device is configured to locate the antenna board. The mobile device transmits power to the antenna board which, in turn, transmits power to the microcontroller and the sensor. When power is not being transmitted from the antenna board, the microcontroller and the sensor are powered off.
