MEDICAL IMPLANT, DELIVERY DEVICE, METHOD OF PRODUCING A MEDICAL IMPLANT, AND METHOD OF DELIVERING A MEDICAL IMPLANT

The invention relates to a medical implant (1) that is adapted to repair or close defect (D), in particular an opening in a ventricular, atrial, or septal wall (W). The medical implant (1) may, in particular, be a patch. It comprises an adhesive composition (6). It further comprises two states, wherein in the first state, the medical implant (1) can be deployed to an implant site while the adhesive composition (6) is inactive. It can be brought into a second state by an activation mechanism. The adhesive composition (6), in the second state, is curable by a curing mechanism.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CLOSURE OF TISSUE OPENINGS

The present disclosure relates to a system for radial cinching of an opening in an internal biological structure. The system includes, a tensioning tube, a plurality of sutures disposed within the tensioning tube, a plurality of delivery tubes. Each delivery tube is configured to receive a distal end of one of the plurality of sutures. The plurality of delivery tubes are further configured to deploy the distal ends of the plurality of sutures proximate a periphery of the opening. Upon deployment of the sutures proximate the periphery of the opening, one or more of the plurality of sutures are cinched while movement of portions of the plurality of sutures are constrained by the tensioning tube causes radial cinching of the periphery to close the opening.

DOUBLE SIDED OCCLUSIVE DEVICE

This application discloses an occlusive device that includes a frame movable between a deliver condition and a blocking condition, the frame including a center region, a plurality of distal arms, a plurality of proximal arms, where both the distal and proximal arms curve away from the center region, with flexible sheet material couple to both the distal and proximal arms that block a lumen when the frame is in the blocking condition. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing the occlusive device and a medical device incorporating the occlusive device.

Loading devices and methods for percutaneous perforation closure systems

A device for folding an implant having a wing into a an overlapped configuration includes a funnel body comprising: a first portion configured to receive and protect the implant when the wing of the implant is in a flat or relaxed state, a second portion proximal to the first portion and configured to engage and fold opposite first and second side portions of the wing of the implant in a predetermined direction when the implant is retracted proximally from the first portion of the funnel body and into the second portion of the funnel body, and an overlap guide configured to direct the path of a first one of the side portions of the wing such that the first and second side portions of the wing are overlapped in a predetermined manner and to prevent respective edges of the first and second side portions of the wing from butting into each other as the first and second side portions of the wing are guided into the overlapping configuration during proximal retraction of the implant relative to the funnel body.

Adjustable heart valve implant

Systems and methods are provided for repairing a heart valve, such as a mitral, tricuspid or aortic valve, using an adjustable and removable implant that can be delivered to the heart through the apex in a simplified and non-invasive manner. The implant can include a prosthetic valve portion coupled to a proximal end of a shaft, and an anchor portion coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The prosthetic valve can be suspended within an opening of the heart valve while the anchor portion is affixed to the apex of the heart. When the implant is deployed, a distance between the prosthetic valve portion and the anchor portion can be adjusted, and/or the implant or a portion thereof can be rotated to thereby change the position of the prosthetic valve within the heart valve. This can allow correcting for post-implantation movements of the implant to mitigate potential complications.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SEALING A PUNCTURE OF A VESSEL
20170360419 · 2017-12-21 ·

A system to facilitate sealing a puncture of a vessel includes an implant having first and second expandable sections, and a delivery device that includes an inner tube and a circumscribing outer tube. The outer tube defines a first lumen configured to retain the implant, and a second lumen configured to channel fluid from the vessel through a distal opening proximal to the implant. A pusher circumscribed at least partially by the outer tube is configured to compress the implant to selectively expand the first and second expandable sections. The outer tube is selectively retractable relative to the inner tube such that the first expandable section remains substantially within the first lumen and the second expandable section is positioned outside of the first lumen. The outer tube is further selectively retractable relative to the inner tube such that the first expandable section is positioned outside of the first lumen.

Vessel Occluder

A vessel occluder used to occlude blood flow within the vasculature is described. The vessel occluder can include an expandable mesh portion having a flexible membrane that expands within a cavity of the expandable mesh portion. When expanded, the flexible membrane blocks blood passage through the mesh portion.

PFO Device

A medical device for treating a PFO is presented as well as a mechanism for its delivery, repositioning and/or removal. The device includes a wire or cable framework of six shape-memory cables formed into a right side having six loops that support a right side sail and a left side having six loops that support a left side sail. The right side loops and left side loops are connected together via waist members that extend between the right side and left side loops. Each cable is threaded through a through hole of a central post and pass through one of each of four types of connecting collars that establish the basic shape of the PFO device and retain the cables together to form a flexible and resilient PFO device.

Wound closure devices, systems, and methods may be used to close an opening, such as a puncture wound or incision, formed in tissue, such as heart tissue. A wound closure device may be configured and adapted to be placed within the puncture wound or incision to close and/or seal the puncture wound or incision. A bioadhesive may be used to strengthen the closure and/or seal of the puncture wound after placement of the wound closure device relative to the puncture wound.

Closing device for tissue openings

There are shown and described embodiments of a closure device for closing holes in tissue, for example in the right atrial appendage. The closure device in particular embodiments includes first and second mesh closure members and a tether or stem connecting them. Embodiments of a delivery device for the closure device are also described.
