METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR AUGMENTED REALITY GUIDANCE OF MEDICAL DEVICES INTO SOFT TISSUE
20200352655 · 2020-11-12 ·

Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for facilitating a practitioner in guiding an insertion of a medical instrument into soft tissue of a patient. According to one embodiment, a method implemented on a computing device includes receiving a first plurality of images from a medical imaging device and receiving a second plurality of images from an augmented reality (AR) device interface. The second plurality of images includes fiducial-based information on both the medical instrument and the medical imaging device. The method further includes (1) determining a predicted position of the medical instrument using fiducial-based localization with the fiducial-based information, (2) generating a third plurality of images illustrating the predicted position of the medical instrument within a first portion of the first plurality of images and within a first portion of the second plurality of images, and (4) transmitting the third plurality of images to the AR device interface.

POSITIONING UNIT WITH A PLURALITY OF INDICATORS FOR GUIDING A NEEDLE
20200352592 · 2020-11-12 ·

A positioning unit for guiding a medical object such as a needle includes a securing unit by which the positioning unit may be arranged on the medical object. In order to enable an improved guidance for the medical object, an indicating element with a plurality of indicators is provided. The indicating element is arranged in a fixed position relative to the securing unit. An acquisition unit acquires an item of movement information. The positioning unit is configured to control the plurality of indicators dependent upon the movement information.

Hysterectomy model

A surgical simulator for surgical training is provided. The simulator includes a frame defining an enclosure and a simulated tissue model located inside the frame. The simulated tissue model is adapted for practicing a number of surgical procedures including but not limited to transanal excisions and transvaginal hysterectomies. Portions of the frame comprises a material adhesively compatible with the material of portions of the simulated tissue model to secure and suspend the simulated tissue model within the frame. The simulated tissue model may also include simulated vasculature configured to loop through apertures in the frame to secure and suspend the simulated tissue model within the frame.

Systems and methods for visual staging of medical devices

A system for visual staging includes a staging board having a plurality of receptacles spaced apart from each other and extending into a thickness of the staging board, the staging board has an anatomical image that is viewable on a top surface of the staging board. A plurality of clips are configured to be received by and extend from the plurality of receptacles such that the clips are releasably connected to the staging board. The plurality of receptacles are spaced apart from each other at strategic positions on the staging board in relation to the anatomical image.

WEARABLE IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE FOR SURGERY AND SURGERY INFORMATION REAL-TIME DISPLAY SYSTEM

A wearable image display device for surgery includes a display unit, a wireless receiver and a processing core. The wireless receiver wirelessly receives a medical image or a medical instrument information in real-time. The processing core is coupled to the wireless receiver and the display unit for displaying the medical image or the medical instrument information on the display unit.

ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY PROCEDURE WITHOUT IONIZING RADIATION IMAGING

Methods and systems for position determination of an intrabody probe, targets of an intrabody probe, and or actions to be performed using an intrabody probe are described. In some embodiments, an anatomy being navigated and/or mapped is described by a rule-based schema relating different anatomically identified structures to one another according to their ability to help identify and/or locate one another. Additionally, in some embodiments, data recorded from the intrabody probe is processed according to schema rules in order to provide anatomical identification of the anatomical region which the intrabody probe is measuring, optionally without performing detailed mapping, and/or prior to the availability of detailed mapping of anatomical geometry.

SURGICAL TRAINING DEVICE
20200294422 · 2020-09-17 ·

Disclosed is a suturing training device and a method of using the device. The device comprises a base having a first side and a second side, the base defining a plane. The device also comprises a first anchor and a second anchor positioned on the first side of the base. The first and second anchors are each connectable to a segment of tissue so that the tissue is suspended therebetween in use of the device. An actuator is associated with one or both of the first anchor and the second anchor. The actuator is actuatable to cause relative movement of the first and second anchors along the plane. A force gauge is configured to measure a force applied to the tissue when the first and second anchors are moved relative one another by the actuator.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR EXCLUDING THE LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE

Systems, devices and methods for occluding the left atrial appendage (LAA). The device excludes the LAA from blood flow. The implantable device is delivered via transcatheter delivery into the LAA and secured within the LAA. The implant comprises an expandable and compliant frame and an expandable and conformable tubular foam body. A delivery and tether retraction system includes a handle for controlling a pusher and tether. The pusher may be moved a distance away from the implant without changing the orientation of the implant, while the tether is still attached to the implant. Severing the tether and proximally retracting a control on the hand piece by a distance causes the severed end to advance distally by at least about twice that distance. A loader includes a conical portion with guides and a reservoir for submerging the foam prior to loading and delivery.
