Systems, instruments, and methods for minimally invasive procedures including one or more of fractional resection, fractional lipectomy, fractional skin grafting, fractional scar revision, and/or fractional tattoo removal are described. Embodiments include instrumentation comprising a scalpet assembly coupled to a carrier, and the scalpet assembly includes a scalpet array. The scalpet array includes one or more scalpets configured for fractional resection, fractional lipectomy, fractional skin grafting, fractional scar revision, and/or fractional tattoo removal. The system includes a vacuum component coupled to the scalpet assembly and configured to evacuate tissue from the a site. The carrier is configured to control application of a rotational force and/or a vacuum force to the scalpet assembly.

Tattoo removal using a liquid-gas mixture with plasma gas bubbles

Methods and systems are disclosed for removing a tattoo from a subject's skin by application of a cold plasma that is delivered via a liquid-gas mixture. The plasma can be delivered in the form of gas bubbles, in which at least a portion of gas is in the form of a plasma.

A disposable cartridge may be used in conjunction with dermal abrasion for tattoo removal. The cartridge may include a needle bundle that is driven in a reciprocating or reciprocating/rotating motion to abrade dermal tissue during the tattoo removal process. The needle bundle may include a plurality of needles arranged in a circular pattern with each needle tangent and abutting the adjacent needle. The needles may be arranged around a central arbor to form a ring of adjacent needles. Alternatively, the needle bundle may include a tubular needle with sharpened tips formed on an end of the tube. A disposable cartridge used in conjunction with dermal abrasion for tattoo removal may also include a seal/spring/retainer combination element that stretches and rebounds to its original shape to provide a spring action and provides a sealing function to reduce or prevent the discharge of a fluid used in the tattoo removal process.
