Computer-implemented method for determining an operational state of an industrial plant
A computer-implemented method for determining an operational state of an industrial plant includes acquiring alarms raised within the plant and adding them to a pool of important alarms, determining whether a physical state of the plant indicated by a first alarm causes a second alarm or meets a predetermined state-dependent condition and, if so, moving the first alarm to a pool of informative alarms; and determining the operational state of the plant and/or a corrective action for improving this operational state based on the alarms in the pool of important alarms.
Space conditioning based on weather information
Methods, devices, and systems for space conditioning based on weather information are described herein. One device includes a memory, and a processor to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to receive forecasted weather information, determine, based on the forecasted weather information, future weather conditions, determine based on the future weather conditions and historical setpoint data, whether conditioning of a space is expected, and generate an alert in response to conditioning of the space being expected.
Operator System and Method for Operating and Observing a Technical Plant to be Controlled
A method for operating and observing a technical plant to be controlled, wherein block symbols for plant schematics can be generated which are structured, personalized, and assembled dynamically at runtime which, for example, enable an efficiently guided and assisted handling of alarm messages by an operator, where the dynamically updated display of alarm-producing process objects based on an equipment hierarchy enables an evaluation of items causing floods of alarms.
HVAC SYSTEM AND AN HVAC CONTROLLER CONFIGURED TO GENERATE MASTER SERVICE ALARMS
A method of generating an alarm based on temperature conditions within an enclosed space. The method includes receiving, by a processor of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, operating-condition information of the HVAC system, determining, by the processor from the received operating-condition information, whether temperature within the enclosed space is approaching a setpoint temperature. Responsive to a determination that the temperature within the enclosed space has failed to approach the setpoint temperature, determining by the processor, whether anomaly conditions exist and responsive to a determination that the anomaly conditions do not exist, generating the alarm.
PROCESS PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND ALARM NOTIFICATION USING DATA ANALYTICS
A method of alarm notification includes providing data for an industrial process including stored alarm event data and stored Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data, and an alarm event-KPI correlation and operator notification system. Patterns of relationships are discovered between the stored alarm event and KPI data to provide a reference pattern database that identifies KPI violation events in the KPI data as a function of the alarm event data or alarm events in the alarm event data as a function of the KPI data. Pattern matching uses a real-time alarm event and real-time KPI data to determine a pattern similarity by comparing a current sequence spanning a predetermined time of the real-time alarm event and KPI data to the patterns. When the pattern matching identifies a current alarm event or KPI violation event, an operator is notified and a predicted KPI value or feature or a predicted alarm event.
Integrated alarm management system (ALMS) KPIs with plant information system
An improved alarm management system (ALMS) is described. In an embodiment, the improved alarm management system is configured to include a control system connected to multiple field devices in communication with an alarm management analysis system. The alarm management analysis system and control system can further be configured to communicate with the PI interface of a plant network. In a further embodiment, data from multiple ALMS can be aggregated offsite, processed, and configured to be displayed to offsite personnel.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING ALARMS IN MODULAR PRODUCTION INSTALLATIONS
To automate alarm management in modular production installations, provided is, with respect to a modular production installation for which, for its modular, manufacturerindependent construction and operation, process equipment assembly modules, controlled by a programmable PEA controller and simulated by means of a configurable PEA simulation, are integrated into the production installation, by means of a module type package <MTP> mechanism for the PEA module description, in the course of a process orchestration which is standardized the following is carried out in the alarm management: all states of the modular production installation with respect to triggered faults of possible fault cases of the production installation are virtually run through and simulated; simulation faults that occur are logged concomitantly by means of alarms, which provide identification and an alarm message log is created and/or alarm chains are identified and alarm relationships in the alarm chains are determined.
AUTOMATION OF ASPHALT PLANT OPERATIONS
Techniques for controlling machines within an asphalt manufacturing plant are disclosed. For example, a control system operates in one or more of a remote mode, an alarm mode, and/or a local mode. The system receives a remote signal and transitions to the remote mode, where the system receives first motor parameters and transmits the first motor parameters to a motor. Upon receiving an alarm signal, the system transitions to the alarm mode. After detecting an alarm signal for a first threshold amount of time, causes an alarm to sound. After detecting the alarm signal for a second threshold amount of time followed by detecting a local signal, the system transitions to the local mode. When in the local mode, the system receives a second set of motor parameters from a local control interface via a second protocol and transmits the second set of motor parameters to the motor.
HIGH NOTIFICATION RATE DETECTION
Systems and related approaches for monitoring the notification rate of live alarms being presented to an operator in the presentation tool. The number of notifications being received is counted and managed as a rate due to the update frequency of the tool. In some embodiments, when the number of notifications received exceeds a threshold, an indicator is presented to the operator alerting them to the abnormality. The operator may then examine the system as necessary to locate the source of the abnormality.
