The system also includes a data services module operable to receive from the communicator module, via the first network, the information of the process plant and to transmit some or all of that information via a second network, and a mobile server, coupled to the second network and to a third network, and operable to receive data from the data services module. The mobile server is operable to communicate with a plurality of mobile computing devices via the third network.

A system executing a closed loop control on data for cloud-based applications includes an industrial automation device configured to generate cloud variables, a cloud-based application on a network device with cloud-computing infrastructure, an industrial controller controlling the industrial automation device by a user-defined program which receives the cloud variables, a cloud agent communicating with the user-defined control program and the cloud-based application. The cloud agent collects the cloud variables and sends them to the cloud-based application. The cloud-based application determines updated optimized cloud variables and notifies the cloud agent with the updated optimized cloud variables. The cloud agent reloads the updated optimized cloud variables and notifies the user-defined control program with the updated optimized cloud variables. The user-defined control program includes cloud constructs which request the updated optimized cloud variables during runtime and reload the updated optimized cloud variables in the user-defined control program.

Disclosed is an IoT-based system for overseeing process control and predictive maintenance of a machine or a network of machines by employing machine wearable sensors. The system comprises a plurality of IR temperature sensors, each of which secured to the exterior of the machine; each IR sensor capable of transmitting captured temperature data wirelessly over a communications network, an algorithm engine capable of receiving data from the IR sensors, the algorithm engine for further processing the received data to recognize real-time temperature patterns, deviations, etc., and based on the same issuing control commands pertaining to the machine, and one or more control modules disposed in operative communication with the control panel of the machine, the control module capable of receiving, over a communications network, the control commands and executing the same resulting in accomplishing process control or predictive maintenance of the machine or both.

The system comprises: a plurality of security inspection devices arranged on the spot; a remote control site arranged at a remote side; and a field bus network connecting the plurality of security inspection devices with the remote control site and transmitting signals between the plurality of security inspection devices and the remote control site according to bus communication scheme. With implementations of the present invention, correct and reliable centralized management of local security inspection devices from the remote control site can be achieved with less signal lines and simpler layout of the lines.

The present disclosure describes system and method to virtualize a plant facility with remote sites that are separated from a central site. The method includes: receiving, at a remote site of the plant facility and from a transport vehicle of a transport network, an engineering package assembled by a server computer located at the central site of the plant facility and addressed to the remote site of the plant facility, the engineering package comprising a command script and a data component; and extracting, by one or more computing devices at the remote site, the command script from the engineering package such that the command script is executed to cause the one or more computing devices to perform tasks of managing site operations at the remote site of the plant facility as if a human control systems engineer is present to perform such tasks on-site.

A web services-based communication system and technique uses an information server to facilitate the communication of process control data and analysis results between a plurality of web services coupled to a communication network. A graphical user interface coupled to the network enables users to store user profile information and configuration information in a database within the information server. The information server uses the configuration information and the profile information to control the operations of a scheduler and a router within the information server to enable users to selectively view process control information via the graphical user interface and to route process control information to appropriate ones of the web services.
