System and method for presenting a customizable graphical view of a system status to identify system failures

An embodiment of this disclosure provides a method for presentation of system alarms. The method includes obtaining information associated with a plurality of sections in an industrial process control and automation system. The information includes, for each section of the plurality of sections, an operating status, an alarm status, and a location within the system. The method also includes displaying a dashboard including the plurality of sections in a hierarchical format. The method also includes, for each of the plurality of sections, displaying an icon for the section and displaying visual indicators for the alarm status of the section and the operating status of the section.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND ADJUSTING OPERATION OF A MOVER SYSTEM

A non-transitory computer-readable medium includes instructions that, when executed by processing circuitry, are configured to cause the processing circuitry to receive a first dataset associated with a mover system having a track and a plurality of mover assemblies independently movable along the track, identify a subset of the first dataset associated with a normal operating state of the mover system based on state data associated with the mover system, receive a second dataset associated with the mover system after receiving the first dataset and having a first set of differences from the subset of the first dataset, determine whether the second dataset is indicative of an anomaly state of the mover system based on a relationship between an anomaly signature dataset and the second dataset, and adjusting operation of the mover system in response to determining that the second dataset corresponds to the anomaly signature dataset.

Markup language-based, dynamic process graphics in a process plant user interface

A user interface system for a process plant includes a graphic display editor to configure a process graphic display having a graphic display element representative of a process plant element of the process plant. The process graphic display is specified via configuration information set forth in a declarative language. A graphics rendering engine generates a depiction of the process graphic display during runtime based on commands derived from the configuration information set forth in the declarative language. The configuration information for the process graphic display may be stored as an object, which, for instance, may include first and second portions to define a graphical parameter and identify a data source, respectively. The graphical parameter may be directed to defining a graphical depiction of the process plant element and, to this end, may be set forth in a formal in accordance with the declarative language. The data source may specify a location or path for data indicative of on-line operation of the process plant element to be displayed via the graphical depiction.

Methods and apparatus to manage process control resources

Example methods and apparatus to manage process control resources are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes receiving a selection of a first process control resource within a process control system to be associated with a logical container, the logical container including other process control resources that have a same user defined characteristic in common with the first process control resource, creating an entry within the logical container for the first process control resource by storing an identifier of the first process control resource in the logical container, and assigning the first process control resource to the logical container so that the identifier of the first process control resource links to process control information associated with the first process control resource.

Selection and control of connected objects from a symbolic representation of a topography of a site

A method for controlling a connected object deployed in a geographical area. A corresponding computer program, storage medium, and processing circuit. The method includes displaying, via a visual interface, a symbolic representation of the geographical area in the form of juxtaposed interactive buttons. Each interactive button is associated with a respective sub-area of the geographical area. The method includes obtaining a sub-area selection command generated by an interaction, via a user interface, with a displayed particular interactive button, selecting the sub-area associated with the particular interactive button, and, on the basis of feedback obtained via the user interface, issuing a control signal intended for the connected object.
