BONE MATERIAL DISPENSING APPARATUS AND METHODS
A bone material dispensing apparatus for preparing, mixing, and dispensing bone material into a foldable container is provided. In some embodiments, the dispensing apparatus comprises a tray and a foldable container. The tray includes a mixing surface, a dispensing surface and a means to measure the amount of material to be dispensed. A kit including a tray, a foldable container, and a spatula are also provided. A method of using the dispensing apparatus to deliver the bone material to a bone detect is also provided.
AXIAL LENGTHENING THROMBUS CAPTURE SYSTEM
Systems and methods can remove material of interest, including blood clots, from a body region, including but not limited to the circulatory system for the treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), cerebrovascular embolism, and other vascular occlusions.
System and method for laparoscopic repair of abdominal wall hernia using umbrella mesh
The system and method for laparoscopic repair of abdominal wall hernia using umbrella mesh includes an umbrella mesh having a substantially circular mesh attached to an umbrella-like frame having a plurality of radially spaced spokes resiliently mounted at a hub, the spokes being hollow and housing helical tacks. The umbrella mesh is folded and mounted on an umbrella load cartridge. The cartridge may be loaded on the distal end of a pistol-grip laparoscopic instrument having a rotary control for orienting the mesh over the weakened area, a mesh release handle for gradually opening and releasing the mesh, and a firing handle for firing helical tacks from the spokes for fastening the mesh to the supporting abdominal wall.
MULTI-SHIELD SPINAL ACCESS SYSTEM
An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.
FLEXIBLE SYSTEM FOR DELIVERING AN ANCHOR
A system and associated method for manipulating tissues and anatomical or other structures in medical applications for the purpose of treating diseases or disorders or other purposes. In one aspect, the system includes a delivery device including a flexible portion that is suited to access target anatomy. The flexibility of an elongate portion of the delivery device can be varied. Additionally, the delivery device can include structure that maintains the positioning of the delivery device in patient anatomy.
HEATED ENDOVASCULAR CATHETER INJECTION DEVICE
An embodiment includes a system comprising: a catheter; an optic fiber having a long axis and a short axis that is orthogonal to the long axis; first and second radiopaque elements coupled to the optic fiber; a first wire coupled to the optic fiber and extending from the first radiopaque element to the second radiopaque element; a fluid; wherein (a)(i) the first wire wraps at least partially around an exterior surface of the optic fiber; (a)(ii) an outer diameter of the first wire and an outer diameter of the optic fiber are collectively less than an inner diameter of the catheter, and (a)(iii) the first wire is configured to center the optic fiber within the catheter within a plane orthogonal to the long axis.
ENDOVASCULAR IMPLANTS AND DEVICES AND METHODS FOR CREATING A PERCUTANEOUS ARTERIOVENOUS FISTULA
Various systems, devices, and methods for endovascular implants and accurate placement thereof are disclosed. The implants include a proximal implant segment, a distal implant segment, connector struts connecting the proximal implant segment to the distal implant segment, and a side opening between the proximal implant segment and the distal implant segment. The implants can be used to create an arteriovenous fistula or connect one vessel of the body to another by placement of the proximal implant segment and the distal implant segment within the vessels to be connected. The implants can have an hourglass shape. The implants can include a continuous strut or ring at a distal edge of the proximal implant segment. Also disclosed are methods for accurate percutaneous placement of the implants disclosed, and a device for percutaneous delivery.
Occlusion devices and methods of making and using same
The present disclosure provides improved medical devices for occluding a left atrial appendage. In one embodiment, the medical device includes a temperature activated memory shape foam that is constructed to transition from a first collapsed conformation to a second expanded conformation upon an increase in temperature such that it can expand to provide an occlusive benefit inside a left atrial appendage. In another embodiment the medical device includes a flowable thermoset that is injected into the left atrial appendage where is it cured so that it may assume the conformation of the left atrial appendage and provide an occlusive benefit.
SHAPE MEMORY EMBOLECTOMY DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
An embolectomy device comprised of an expansion unit and a support unit is disclosed. The expansion unit can be actuated in response to one or more external stimuli, and the support unit, located proximately to the expansion unit, provides a force to hold the expansion unit in place and to further induce the expansion unit's radial expansion. The radial expansion of the expansion unit causes the expansion unit to physically contact a blood clot, enabling the blood clot to be removed. In some embodiments, the expansion unit can be fabricated from a shape memory polymer foam. In some embodiments the support unit can be fabricated from any elastic material including, without limitation, shape memory alloys.
Device, system, and method for transcatheter treatment of valvular regurgitation
The invention relates to a device for use in the transcatheter treatment of mitral valve regurgitation, specifically a coaptation assistance element for implantation across the valve; a system including the coaptation assistance element and anchors for implantation; a system including the coaptation assistance element and delivery catheter; and a method for transcatheter implantation of a coaptation element across a heart valve.
