PATIENT SPECIFIC INSTRUMENT (PSI) METHOD & DEVICE FOR PERCUTANEOUS FIXATION OF FRACTURES
This invention is a patient-specific surgical guide for percutaneous fixation of fractures designed for detection of the point of insertion, direction and angle of metal-ware (wires, screws, plates or nails). The patient-specific surgical guide seated on a bony landmark, the interior surface of the guide matches the surface anatomy of bones and fit in a single secure position for the reduction of bony or joint displacement and to insert wires or metal ware in bone and joints without need for fluoroscopic imaging. The guide comprising of a flying arc (3) with pointed introducers (1, 2) at its ends, detachable rods (27,28) and trajectory sleeves (6, 7, 24). The size and shape of the guide modified according to the nature of the anatomy of the percutaneous of bone and joints in these regions of displaced fractures of clavicle, proximal humerus, distal humerus, proximal radius and ulna, distal radius and ulna, hand bones, clavicle, patella distal fibula, medial malleolus, spine and feet bones.
Surgical retractor system and methods of use
A surgical retractor includes an elongate element defining an operational axis, a first blade secured to the elongate element and comprising a blade face, a second blade moveably secured to the elongate element, wherein the second blade defines a reference point located thereon, and wherein a movement of the second blade moves the reference point in a linear direction parallel to the operational axis and orthogonal to the blade face. A guide element may be removably located within an opening located on either the first blade or the second blade.
Vascular cages and methods of making and using the same
A vascular cage comprises a self-expandable frame including a plurality of elongated flexible bands. The frame is configured to transition between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. The expanded frame may form a three-dimensional cage configured to surround an interior volume as the frame is deployed. At least some of the plurality of bands may have a substantially rectangular cross-section.
ENDOVASCULAR COIL DEVICE FOR EMBOLIZATION OF BLOOD VESSELS
An endovascular coil includes a radiolucent permanent shape memory or shape-retaining polymer core that retains its coil shape with passage through a catheter, and a temporary degradable radiopaque coating surrounding the permanent shape memory or shape-retaining polymer core.
SURGICAL RETRACTOR SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE
The present disclosure describes a surgical retractor system and method. The surgical retractor includes an elongate element defining an operational axis, a first blade secured to the elongate element and comprising a blade face, a second blade moveably secured to the elongate element, wherein the second blade defines a reference point located thereon, and wherein a movement of the second blade moves the reference point in a linear direction parallel to the operational axis and orthogonal to the blade face. A guide element may be removably located within an opening located on either the first blade or the second blade.
Reference Navigation Equipment in Robotic Surgery Assisted by Stereotaxic Navigation of the Organs and Soft Parts of a Patient's Pelvic Area
The present invention relates to equipment for navigation reference in assisted robotic surgery by means of stereotactic navigation of the organs and soft portions of the pelvic area of a patient, which enables coordinates fixed with respect to a reference frame to be associated to any point of the patient's anatomy in the pelvic area. The equipment comprises a fastening arc (1) with an upper bar (6), two lateral bars (7), joined to the upper bar (6) forming an arc by means of first joining means (8) and second joining means (9) configured to join the lateral bars (7) to a surgical table, two arms (2) joined to the lateral bars (7) by means of third fastening means (10), a first reference device (3) and a second reference device (15) configured to be placed in the surgical instrumentation of the robot.
