Sock for treatment of foot and leg wounds, methods of use and manufacture
The Improved Sock is made of yarns knitted to include a foot portion and a calf portion, with graduated compression on an individual's foot from the foot to the calf. The yarns can include wool and alpaca fibers. A substantial proportion of wool and/or alpaca are on the inside of the sock so as to be in direct contact with the skin and wound. The Improved Sock provides absorption and wicking of inflammatory mediators, bacteria and biofilm and necrotic exudate from the foot and leg. The Improved Sock has AgNP shapes electrostatically bonded to the yarn. At least 30% of the mass of the AgNP shapes attached to the fibers have a shape selected from the group including truncated triangular plates (a triangle with the corners rounded off), triangular prisms, and/or discs. The Improved Sock functions as a unique wound dressing with the sock in direct contact with the wound.
MATERIALS INCLUDING POLYMERIC FIBERS INCORPORATING MICROCAPSULES OR NANOCAPSULES INCLUDING AN ESSENTIAL OIL
The present disclosure provides materials and articles of clothing including a plurality of nanocapsules, each nanocapsule including a polymeric shell surrounding at least one fluid, and a plurality of polymeric fibers co-spun with the plurality of nanocapsules. The nanocapsules can be made by miniemulsion polymerization. The encapsulated at least one fluid can include at least one essential oil. In some embodiments, the materials are deodorizing, antifungal, and/or antibacterial. Methods of manufacturing the materials and articles of clothing are also provided.
Grip Enhancement and Protection for the Feet
This document presents a footwear object that covers the foot and ankle of the wearer. The footwear object protects the wearer's feet and ankle while improving blood circulation, and supporting the toes, arches, and ankles of the wearer. The footwear object is manufactured of layered fabrics that are knitted and/or woven from both man-made and natural fibers. The footwear object may have portions providing compression, padding, and grip to provide support and prevent injury to the wearer's feet and ankles.
SWADDLING GARMENT
A swaddling garment, such as for swaddling a baby or use as a compression garment, includes a tubular body having a circular neck opening, arm sleeves formed within the tubular body defining arm-receiving spaces, and a torso-receiving space within the tubular body between the arm sleeves. The swaddling garment is a one-piece, seamless, or/or knit swaddle, without closures, configured to snugly receive a wearer's torso and arms.
Seamlessly transitioned, double layer, dual fabric garment
A double layer garment including a first inner layer, worn next to the skin, that is at least in part made of a natural fiber (e.g., cotton) and a second outer layer that is made of a synthetic fiber (e.g., spandex). The natural fiber inner layer and the synthetic fiber outer layer are seamlessly knitted together without seams to form the two layers.
Comfort Sleeve
The invention consists of a piece of clothing, more specifically a comfort sleeve, that acts as a protective barrier against the undesirable effects related to the skin overheating due to the prolonged skin-to-skin contact between the skin of the arm of a person (caretaker) holding a baby. The comfort sleeve is worn by the caretaker on his/her bare arm. The comfort sleeve is completely independent of any other clothes that the caretaker might be wearing. Said comfort sleeve is mostly made of materials (textiles) and is manufactured by two preferred methods: either sewn from several pieces or knitted in one single piece. The comfort sleeve is mostly composed of the body of the sleeve, at least one integrated pocket, at least one pull tab and at least one anti-slip component.
LIQUID STRETCH COATING FOR GARMENTS AND METHODS FOR APPLICATION THEREOF
A garment includes yarns including an elastic component and a coating including an acrylic polymer or copolymer thereof. The coating is located on at least one discrete region of the garment. A method for applying a coating to at least one discrete region of a garment with a spray apparatus includes placing the garment on a conveyance system, advancing the garment proximate to at least one spray nozzle, and operating the controller to activate the at least one spray nozzle and apply the coating to the at least one discrete region of the garment.
Expansion Sock
An expansion sock includes one or more expansion zones formed of a different type of knitted fabric than adjacent zones. The expansion zones permit the sock to be used on a person's bandaged foot because the bandaged portions of the foot can be accommodated without either increased pressure on the bandages while minimizing excess, bunched material adjacent thereto.
BREATHABLE UNDERGARMENT
An undergarment, comprising an upper portion configured to cover a portion of an abdomen of a user, the upper portion comprising a front side, a back side, a top side, and a front side end, and a back side end, a lower portion configured to cover a genital region of the user, wherein the lower portion comprises a first end and a second end. The undergarment includes a first seam positioned between the front side end and the first end of the lower portion, the first seam configured to be disposed at or above the mons pubis of the user, and a second seam positioned between the back side end and the second end, the second seam configured to be disposed at or below the sacroiliac joint of the user, wherein the lower portion comprises a single-ply fabric panel, said single-ply fabric panel comprising a breathable fabric.
SOCKS AND OTHER FOOTWEAR WITH ENHANCED FEATURES
A sock and/or outer footwear having one or more portions with reduced frictional characteristics. One or more of the heel portion, the arch portion and the ball portion of the sock and/or interior of the outer footwear is fabricated with one or more fibers having the reduced frictional characteristics. The reduced frictional characteristics are established with the one or more low-friction fibers that are integrated with fibers having additional complementary characteristics of thermal regulation and moisture management. The provision of reduced frictional characteristics in one or more of the heel, arch and ball facilitates insertion of a foot into footwear.
