Retractor tools for minimally invasive hip surgery
A retractor system, kit and method of use includes a plurality of retractors for use in retracting a wound during a minimally-invasive hip replacement surgery to define an access space to a surgical site is discussed. Each of the retractors comprises a handle portion configured to be held by a user, a curved bend portion distal of the handle portion, and a wound contact portion attached to the curved bend portion. The wound contact portion is configured to contact tissue of the wound when at least a portion of the retractor is inserted through a skin incision that defines the wound. Each retractor also has a distal portion disposed distally of the wound contact portion, wherein the wound contact portion has a generally curved cross-sectional profile perpendicular to its length that is configured to prevent necrosis of the tissue during retraction. In addition, the cross-sectional profile provides an improved line of sight during the surgical procedure. Furthermore, the cross-sectional profile prevents the jamming of a cutting device, such as a reamer inserted through the incision, while the retractors retract the wound.

PROXIMAL-FEMUR INTRAOSSEOUS RELEASE DEVICE
A proximal-femur intraosseous release device includes a release mechanism, wherein a primary fixing mechanism is provided at one end of the release mechanism, the primary fixing mechanism includes a first shell, and a second shell, a first triangular block and a second triangular block are arranged inside the first shell; the second shell is screwed to the first shell through threads, a bottom of the second shell is rotatably connected with the first triangular block, the first triangular block is slidably connected with the first shell, a bottom surface of the first triangular block is an inclined surface, the second triangular block is located at a bottom of the first triangular block, a top surface of the second triangular block is an inclined surface, and a through hole matched with the second triangular block is formed in the first shell.
Surgical retractor with impactor
A surgical retractor comprising a retractor body having a site portion and handle portion, and an impactor body on the retractor body. The impactor body is positioned and configured for use in impacting the site portion of the surgical site. An impaction axis of the impaction body is preferably substantially aligned with an axis of the site portion of the impactor body. The impactor body is preferably attached to the retractor body at a junction between the site portion and the handle portion of the retractor body. In one embodiment, the impactor portion is configured to selectively mate with an impactor extension member to thereby optionally receive direct impaction on the impactor portion or indirect impaction through the impactor extension member.
Devices and methods for minimally invasive access into a joint
Devices and methods are disclosed for providing access to a central compartment of a hip joint. The devices can access the central compartment by distracting all or a portion of the labrum. The labrum can be distracted by advancing a device underneath the bottom edge of the labrum, and using the device to further distract the labrum. Some devices can move underneath the labrum to provide a gap for other devices to access the central compartment.

A proximal-femur intraosseous release device includes a release mechanism. A primary fixing mechanism is provided at one end of the release mechanism, the primary fixing mechanism includes a first shell, and a second shell, a first triangular block and a second triangular block are arranged inside the first shell; the second shell is screwed to the first shell through threads, a bottom of the second shell is rotatably connected with the first triangular block, the first triangular block is slidably connected with the first shell, a bottom surface of the first triangular block is an inclined surface, the second triangular block is located at a bottom of the first triangular block, a top surface of the second triangular block is an inclined surface, and a through hole matched with the second triangular block is formed in the first shell.
Distraction frame for effecting hip distraction
A distraction frame includes a table mount for removably mounting the distraction frame to a surgical table; at least one horizontal strut mounted to the table mount; at least one vertical strut mounted to the at least one horizontal strut; and at least one distractor mounted to the at least one vertical strut, wherein the at least one distractor is configured for connection to a limb of a patient and for applying a distraction force to the limb of the patient; wherein the table mount comprises at least one wheel for selectively supporting the table mount above the floor and the at least one horizontal strut comprises at least one caster for selectively rollably supporting the at least one horizontal strut on the floor so that the distraction frame can be selectively moved to the surgical table supported by the at least one wheel and the at least one caster.
Modular Hip Distractor
A modular hip distractor and methods of using the same are described. The modular hip distractor includes a knee brace assembly having at least one cuff and that is configured to reduce the amount of force applied to the knee joint and lower extremity during a hip distraction procedure.
Methods and devices for accessing and retracting a capsule of a joint
Devices and methods are disclosed herein for accessing the hip joint. A first device can be securely attached to the capsule of a joint. The first device can tent the capsule to increase the volume of the peripheral compartment. A second device can be biased against the first device to pierce the tented capsule and create a portal. Devices and methods are also disclosed herein for distending the capsule of a joint. A distention device may access a portal established within the capsule. The distention device can expand the capsule by applying an expansive force within the peripheral compartment. The distention device can maintain distention of the peripheral compartment while other devices access the joint.
