Tensionable knotless anchors and methods of tissue repair

Surgical devices and methods of soft tissue repair using pre-looped tensionable and non-pre-looped tensionable knotless fixation devices. A flexible material (for example, suture or suture tape) may be attached to the fixation device. A flexible material may be threaded through an eyelet of a tip provided as part of a swivel anchor assembly to provide added stability to the fixation devices.

TISSUE REPAIR SYSTEM

A tissue repair system for securing a first tissue to a second tissue is disclosed including an instrument with a handle, a shaft extending distally from the handle and a housing having a locked cover. A tissue anchor is disposed at a distal end of the shaft, and operatively coupled to an actuation member of the handle via a deployment member. The actuation member is configured to actuate the deployment member, deploy the tissue anchor and thereby couple the tissue anchor with the first tissue. The system also includes a repair member, for coupling the tissue anchor to the second tissue. Repair member has a first end operatively coupled to the tissue anchor and a second end attached to at least one coupling means. The repair member second end and coupling means are housed within the instrument housing. Actuation of the actuation member is configured to unlock the housing cover.

Suture Gripping Device

A suture gripping device is described. The device includes a body formed from a flat piece of shape-memory material. The body has at least one slot extending from an edge of the body towards a medial position of the body and a first folding plane for folding a first portion of the body away from a second portion of the body to provide a bent configuration. The bent configuration is converted to a flat configuration when the temperature of the device is raised above the transition temperature of the shape-memory material. This conversion generates a gripping force against the suture when the suture is held in the slot.

Non-invasive suture anchor and method

A non-invasive device for anchoring a suture includes a sheet to which a suture can be attached and an adhesive that can affix the sheet to bone. The method provides placing effective amount of an adhesive on a bone and attaching the suture to the adhesive and allowing the adhesive to set.

Suture methods for forming locking loops stitches

Methods for suturing tissue by forming a locking loop of suture material. In particular, method of using a suture passer to arthroscopically create a locking loop of suture in difficult to access tissues. As used herein a locking loop of suture is a loop of suture that is passed through a tissue from a first side to a second side of the tissue; one or more of the legs of the loop extending from the first side are passed through the tissue to the second side of the tissue and are then passed through the loop, and the loop is cinched to tighten closed over the one or more legs. The resulting locking loops stitches are extremely strong and distribute the stresses across the tissue in a desirable manner.

EDGE TO EDGE REPAIR OF THE MITRAL VALVE

The present invention describes systems and methods for treating mitral valve regurgitation. The treatment includes a systems and method of modifying the mitral valve by attaching a device to each leaflet and pulling them toward each other to stop mitral valve regurgitation.

SENSOR-BASED ARTHROSCOPIC ANCHOR SYSTEM
20230200800 · 2023-06-29 ·

Disclosed herein are systems for implanting anchors and method of use thereof. The systems and methods can include an anchor punch, an anchor inserter, and a controller. The anchor punch can include an anchor punch sensor. The anchor inserter can include an anchor inserter sensor. The controller can be in electrical communication with the anchor punch sensor and the anchor inserter sensor. The controller can be operative to perform operations that include receiving an anchor punch sensor signal from the anchor punch sensor, recommending a number of anchors to be implanted in the bone based on a first estimate of the bone quality, receiving an anchor inserter signal from the anchor inserter sensor, and recommending a number of additional anchors to be implanted in the bone based on a second estimate of the bone quality.

Suture anchor

Suture anchors are disclosed having suture locking features able to lock multiple suture ends extending from a body tissue, such as from a bone tunnel, with a single device.

Method and apparatus for transvascular implantation of neo chordae tendinae

Methods and devices for transvascular prosthetic chordae tendinea implantation are disclosed. A catheter is advanced into the left atrium, through the mitral valve, and into the left ventricle. A ventricular anchor is deployed from the catheter and into a wall of the left ventricle, leaving a ventricular suture attached to the ventricular anchor and extending proximally through the catheter. A leaflet anchor is deployed to secure a mitral valve leaflet to a leaflet suture, with the leaflet suture extending proximally through the catheter. The leaflet suture is secured to the ventricular suture to limit a range of travel of the leaflet in the direction of the left atrium. Also disclosed is an assembled in situ mitral valve leaflet restraint, having a neo papillary muscle and a neo chordae tendinea.
