Defect removal from manufactured objects having morphed surfaces

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including medium-encoded computer program products, for computer aided repair of physical structures include: generating a two dimensional difference image from a first three dimensional model of at least one actual three dimensional surface of a manufactured object, and a second three dimensional model of at least one source three dimensional surface used as input to a manufacturing process that generated the manufactured object; obtaining from an image-to-image translation based machine learning algorithm, trained using pairs of input images representing deformed and deformed plus surface defected added versions of a nominal three dimensional surface, a translated version of the two dimensional image; generating from the translated version of the two dimensional image a third three dimensional model of at least one morphed three dimensional surface corresponding to the at least one source three dimensional surface. Further, defects can be removed based on the third three dimensional model.

Multicomponent module design and fabrication

Multicomponent module assembly by identifying a failed site on a laminate comprising a plurality of sites, adding a machine discernible mark associated with the failed site, placing an electrically good element at a successful site; and providing an MCM comprising the laminate, and the electrically good element.

Method and system of automated vehicle body routing system employing predicted vehicle body imperfections and vision detection system

A method of directing a vehicle body through a paint process includes obtaining, by a vehicle manufacturing system, process operation data from a vehicle body process. The process operation data is indicative of an operation state of an identified machine performing a selected body operation as part of the vehicle body process. The method includes determining, by the vehicle manufacturing system, whether a recognized fault has occurred based on the process operation data, identifying a potential vehicle body imperfection based on a paint process model and the recognized fault, and providing, by the vehicle manufacturing system, a notification to the paint process of the potential vehicle body imperfection for the vehicle body, where the notification includes location information of the potential vehicle body imperfection, a remedial action for addressing the potential vehicle body imperfection, a recommended resource allocation, or a combination thereof.

Method for positioning a workpiece and apparatus therefor

A method for precisely positioning a dental prosthesis workpiece in a machine tool includes creating an impression on a part positionable with respect to the tool in a known position in the tool, allowing arrangement of the workpiece precisely on the impression. The device includes a blank and a counter on which an impression is formed. The blank and the counter have key structures so they can be separated from each other and reproducibly reconnected in the same arrangement. An alternative on a computational basis is to provide the workpiece with referencing bodies, to determine their positions by scanning the workpiece, machining steps being generated based on the scan, and to scan the workpiece in a tool on a blank provided with key structures whose tool coordinates are known to determine the position of the workpiece in the tool both in terms of tool and construction system coordinates.
