Systems, devices and methods for delivering transfascial suture implants for securing surgical mesh to tissue
10675015 · 2020-06-09 · ·

A system for deploying a suture implant includes a delivery device and a suture implant coupled with the distal end of the delivery device. The suture implant includes a suture and a slip knot that defines a suture loop, the slip knot defining a dynamic end of the suture loop that is located opposite a closed end of the suture loop. The suture implant includes a tissue anchor having first and second openings, whereby the closed end of the suture loop passes through the first and second openings for securing the tissue anchor to the suture loop. A tensioner is secured to the first end of the suture, and a pledget, located between the tensioner and the tissue anchor, is secured to the second end of the suture. Pulling the tensioner away from the tissue anchor slides the pledget and the slip knot toward the tissue anchor for shortening the length of the suture loop and reducing the distance between the pledget and the tissue anchor.

A deployment device for a tissue repair system includes a front delivery assembly that is detachable from a base assembly of the deployment device. The front delivery assembly includes at least one prosthesis and at least one driven assembly that actuates the at least one prosthesis. The base assembly includes a driving assembly that may engage the at least one driven assembly of the at least one prosthesis. The front delivery assembly can be rotated so that the position of a prosthesis in the front delivery assembly is moved in and out of alignment with the driving assembly. A kit of parts may be provided that includes a base assembly as well as two or more detachable front delivery assemblies.

SWIVEL ANCHOR FOR KNOTLESS FIXATION OF TISSUE

A suture anchor for knotless fixation of tissue. A swivel suture anchor has an anchor tip for receiving a suture strand, for surgical tissue repair without requiring suture knots. Tension on the repair constructs is adjustable. The swivel anchor is secured in a hole in bone by advancing a fixation device, such as a cannulated interference screw, over the body of the anchor.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FIXATING A SUTURE ANCHOR WITH A SUTURE IN HARD TISSUE

A suture anchor retaining a suture is fixated in hard tissue, in particular in bone tissue, using any per se known method and is then secured using a securing element including a material having thermoplastic properties, which is liquefied in situ and made to penetrate the hard tissue in which the suture anchor is fixated. The securing element is e.g. a thermoplastic plug or thermoplastic sleeve which is anchored above the suture anchor in a mouth area of the same hard tissue opening. Alternatively the securing element is a thermoplastic pin which is introduced into an inner cavity of the suture anchor, wherein the material having thermoplastic properties is liquefied in this cavity and, in a liquid state is pressed through passages connecting the cavity with outer surfaces of the anchor.

Knotless suture anchor

A suture anchor is disclosed having an outer body with an axial bore which receives and inner body for rotation. Suture passes between the inner body and outer body and rotation of the inner body wraps the suture thereabout locking the suture thereto. Rotation of the inner body also effects radial expansion of at least a portion of the outer body to engage to anchor into a bone hole.

This disclosure describes embodiments of an anchor with a body configured to expand radially outwardly along its entire length. The anchor includes, but is not limited to, a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface defining a central bore, the cylindrical body having a slot exposing the central bore, the slot having a helical path around the longitudinal axis, wherein the slot is configured to expand so that the cylindrical body changes from a first state to a second state in response to pressure on the inner surface, and wherein an outer diameter of cylindrical body in the second state is larger than the outer diameter of the cylindrical body in the first state.

MULTI-SUTURE KNOTLESS ANCHOR FOR ATTACHING TISSUE TO BONE AND RELATED METHOD
20200085423 · 2020-03-19 · ·

A multi-suture knotless anchor and related method for securing soft tissue, such as tendons, to bone are described. The suture anchor includes a body, a sleeve, and an outer deformable bone locking structure. The bone locking structure has a first low profile configuration for insertion into the bone, and a second larger profile configuration for engaging the bone when actuated. The bone anchor and methods permit a suture attachment that lies beneath the cortical bone surface and does not require tying of knots in the suture.
