QUICK, ONE-HANDED INTERRUPTED SUTURE FIXATION FOR APPROXIMATING TISSUE WITHOUT THE NEED TO TIE KNOTS
20220031300 · 2022-02-03 ·

A suture implant for approximating tissue without tying knots includes a suture having a first end with a fixed knot, a second end, and a slip knot located between the first and second ends, which defines a large suture loop having a length. The slip knot defines a dynamic end of the large suture loop that is located opposite a closed end of the large suture loop. A tissue anchor is coupled with the first end of the suture. Pulling the second end of the large suture loop away from the slip knot slides the slip knot and the tissue anchor toward the closed end of the large suture loop and reduces the length of the large suture loop. The suture implant includes a needle having a leading end and a trailing end and a small suture loop secured to the trailing end of the needle that is coupled with the closed end of the large suture loop.

Suture anchor
11452515 · 2022-09-27 · ·

An anchor device and system for coupling soft tissue to osseous tissue includes a stopper member that supports a loop of suture material. A fixing member includes features that allow it to be rigidly coupled to surrounding bone and thus hold the stopper member in a cavity within the bone. The loop of suture material, in turn, supports a second suture device, which is coupled to, and thus retains, the soft tissue. In certain embodiments, the stopper member includes a mechanical linkage for coupling it to the fixing member, and surface features that resist withdrawal of the fixing member from the bone.

Tissue repair assembly and system with soft anchoring implant

Tissue repair systems which use knotless all-suture anchors and have the ability to lock multiple repair sutures within the anchor construct. The anchor construct includes a tension suture wrapped or looped upon itself to create an open eyelet, through which multiple repair sutures originating in soft tissue are passed. The location of the eyelet may be anywhere inside the all-suture anchor or adjacent to the exterior of the anchor body. Tensioning of the tension suture causes the eyelet to restrict movement of the repair sutures and secures them within or against the anchor body.

Compression and tension instruments and methods of use to reinforce ligaments

The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to syndesmosis reinforcement. Embodiments include a clamp having two jaws that extend toward each other to clamp two bone portions therebetween. The clamp may include an angle gauge and an adjustment mechanism having a force gauge that combine to enable the compression of the two bone portions in an optimal direction or angle and at an optimal, measurable compression force. Embodiments also include a tension instrument configured to knotlessly lock a flexible strand construct between two anchors at the same optimal direction and tension applied by the clamp. Further embodiments include an exemplary syndesmosis reinforcement procedure that employs the clamp and the tension instrument to construct a ligament reinforcement construct that achieves optimal anatomic positioning in both directional alignment and the reduction force applied by the construct. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Kit of parts for surgical anchor placement, method for preparing the kit of parts and a method for surgical anchor placement
09717490 · 2017-08-01 · ·

Disclosed is a tissue anchor system and a kit of parts for surgical anchor placement including a needle having a length of suture attached to a trailing end of the needle. An opposite second end of the suture is provided with a stopper. The kit of parts further includes a plurality of surgical anchors each including an anchor body having a through-going lumen extending from a first opening in a proximal end to a second opening in a distal end. Each of the anchors is provided on the length of suture between the first and the second ends of the suture. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a kit of parts and a method of attaching a surgical implant inside the body of a patient.

KNOTLESS INSTABILITY DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SOFT TISSUE REPAIR

Knotless suture anchors and methods are provided for affixing soft tissue to a bone. One exemplary embodiment of a suture anchor includes an insertion rod, a distal tip member removably coupled to a distal end of the insertion rod, the distal tip member having a suture engagement feature configured to have a plurality of suture limbs slidably coupled to the tip member, and a proximal main member having an elongated cylindrical body with one or more bone-engaging features disposed on its outer surface and a longitudinal lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The suture anchor can also include two suture limb holding surfaces to maintain two suture limbs a distance apart from each other. Other exemplary embodiments, as well as methods for affixing soft tissue to a bone, are also provided.
