Meniscal repair devices, systems, and methods
Meniscal repair devices, systems, and methods are provided.
Endoscopic suture loop anchors and methods
A suture needle system includes a first needle and at least one second needle. Each of the first and second needles preferably has a common needle body construct. The first needle includes an elongate suture having a length sufficient to extend at least the length of an instrument channel of an endoscope. The second needle includes an opening formed by a loop of suture at which the second needle can be advanced over the elongate suture. In use, the first needle is secured to a first tissue location using an endoscopic suturing system. A second needle is advanced at its opening over the elongate suture and secured to a second tissue location. Additional second needles may be advanced over the elongate suture to respective tissue locations. The elongate suture is pulled taut, drawing the second needles into proximity, and secured.
Apparatus and methods for tissue closure
Apparatus and methods are provided for treating a tissue opening, for example a trocar opening used in a minimally invasive surgical procedure. In a tissue closure device, a finger guard or shield can be used, handle or holding area or areas can be used, and positioning indicators can be used. A resiliently flexible target material can also be used for reliably holding a suture during the procedure. Introducers can be used having a suture holder, an alignment indicator and insertion limits.
Suture-based closure with hemostatic tract plug
Devices for closing a passage through tissue communicating with a body lumen. The device may include an elongate body, a sheath disposed at the distal end of the device for disposition within a body lumen, a hollow needle disposed within a needle lumen of the body, the needle being selectively advanceable through the needle lumen, a suture-anchor ejection mandrel disposed within the hollow needle that is also selectively advanceable through the hollow needle, a suture-anchor and suture disposed within the hollow needle, a distal end of the suture attached to the suture anchor for ejection out the hollow needle by the mandrel. A needle guide disposed between the sheath and proximal end of the body may include a needle port through which the needle can exit. A hemostatic plug is disposed over the needle port so as to be penetrated by the needle upon exiting the port.
Large bore location device and methods
A vascular closure system includes a body portion, an anchor, at least one suture member, and a plurality of needles. The anchor assembly includes a hub and a wire assembly. The hub has at least one aperture defined in a sidewall thereof. The wire assembly includes an actuator member extending proximally through the body portion and hub, and at least one pre-formed wire having a free proximal end and a distal end that is connected to the actuator member. Withdrawing the actuator member extends the proximal end of the at least one pre-formed wire out of the at least one aperture to capture a portion of the vessel wall between the pre-formed wire and the body portion. The plurality of needles extend through the vessel wall adjacent to the vessel puncture and are configured to connect to the at least one suture member.
Suturing Device
Disclosed is a suturing device comprising a lower jaw rigidly attached to an elongated suturing device body, an upper jaw mobile with respect to the lower jaw, and an activation mechanism for actuating movement of the upper jaw, wherein each jaw comprises at least two apertures or channels within the lower jaw configured and dimensioned to allow a suture thread to pass through. Also disclosed is a suturing device comprising an elongated drive shaft, a handle assembly comprising a tubular handle body, at least one movable element connected to the drive shaft, and an activation mechanism comprising an rotatable activation knob for actuating movement of the at least one movable element. A suturing device combining the above-described jaw elements and activation mechanism is additionally provided. Further, kits comprising disclosed devices and surgical methods utilizing the same are also provided.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE SUTURING DEVICE
A minimally invasive suturing device is disclosed. The minimally invasive suturing device has a shaft and a distal tip. The minimally invasive suturing device also has a flexible span coupling the distal tip to the shaft. The flexible span has an angling link, a plurality of bending links, and an end link.
SURGICAL STAPLES COMPRISING HARDNESS VARIATIONS FOR IMPROVED FASTENING OF TISSUE
A surgical staple cartridge is disclosed comprising a plurality of staples removably stored within the surgical staple cartridge. The staples comprise staple legs which extend from a staple base portion. The staple legs comprise staple tips configured to pierce tissue and contact a corresponding forming pocket of an anvil of surgical stapling instrument. The staples further comprise zones having different hardnesses.
PROSTHETIC SUTURING DEVICE AND METHODS THEREOF
A cassette is disclosed for use in a prosthetic suturing device. The cassette has a base. The base has a pair of pivots, a pair of alignment tabs, and at least one retention latch. The cassette also has a cover coupled to the base. The cover has at least one retention latch. The cover also defines one or more ferrule holders. The cassette further has one or more needles guided by the base and the cover. A surgical suturing device is also disclosed for use with a cassette. The suturing device has a cassette receiver and one or more needle drivers, each needle driver having a needle receiver positioned within the cassette receiver.
Expandable needle suture apparatus and associated handle assembly with rotational suture manipulation system
A surgical suturing device (10) having an axis extending between a proximal end and a distal end is operable to move a suture (32) through body tissue (34). A handle assembly (110) is coupled to an elongated shaft (14) having a hollow configuration. An actuating rod (16) is disposed to extend between the handle assembly (110) and the shaft (14). A thumb actuation assembly is coupled to a proximal end of the actuating rod (16) for moving the rod both axially and rotationally. A needle assembly (2) at the distal end of the actuating rod (16) is movable with the actuating rod (16) between an extended state and a retracted state and at various angular orientations.
