CRIMPING DEVICE AND METHOD
A crimping device for securing a suture to a double-pointed medical suture needle includes a lower block and an upper block that can be pressed against each other to secure the suture to the double-pointed medical suture needle. Each of the lower block and upper block have a first groove configured to accommodate the suture; and a second groove configured to accommodate the double-pointed medical suture needle, the second groove extending in a second groove extension substantially perpendicular to a first groove extension of the first groove, wherein the second groove comprises a protrusion at an intercept of the first groove and second groove. The disclosure further relates to a method of securing at least one suture to at least one double-pointed medical suture needle.
SURGICAL SUTURING DEVICE FOR A REPLACEMENT ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE AND METHODS THEREOF
A surgical suturing device has a guide tip defining cuff receiving and tissue bite areas. The guide tip has at least one needle guide configured to guide at least one needle through the cuff receiving area and the tissue bite area. Another surgical suturing device has a guide tip defining cuff receiving and tissue bite areas. The guide tip has at least one pair of needle guides configured to guide both the needles of at least one pair of needles through the cuff receiving area and the tissue bite area. The guide tip also has at least one pair of ferrule receiving apertures. The cuff receiving area and the tissue bite area are oriented to avoid cross-over of a suture passed by the at least one pair of needles through tissue in the tissue bite area and a replacement anatomical device sewing cuff in the cuff receiving area.
PROSTHETIC INCISION DEVICE AND METHODS THEREOF
A modular surgical apparatus is disclosed. Also disclosed is a modular incision apparatus. The modular incision apparatus may be used in a minimally invasive surgery. The modular incision apparatus includes a base having a pair of pivots, a pair of alignment tabs, a proximal opening, and at least one slide guide. The modular incision apparatus includes visual and cleaning access to the blade. The modular incision apparatus is suitable for safely, efficiently, and accurately making small incisions during surgical procedures. The modular incision apparatus provides a means of making small incisions of controlled depth, while reducing the chances of inadvertent exposure of surgical staff to sharp instrument.
VESSEL CLOSURE DEVICES AND METHODS
A vessel closure device including a proximal end including a handle with first and second actuators, a distal end including a suturing mechanism, and first and second needles associated with the suturing mechanism. At least one of the first and second needles is coupled to the first actuator. The second actuator is coupled to the suturing mechanism. The suturing mechanism includes a pivotal element capable of being moved by the second actuator between an insertion and removal orientation, a first deployed orientation, and a second deployed orientation. The suturing mechanism is activated within the vessel through an opening in the wall of the vessel and the first and second needles are directed through the vessel wall adjacent to the opening to direct a tensile member adjacent to the opening for closing and sealing the opening.
PURSE STRING SUTURE PASSER DEVICE
A purse string suture passing device includes a clamp member and a suture passer housing assembly. The clamp member is dimensioned to be received within a guide channel of the suture passer housing assembly and includes two jaws that each define a longitudinal passage. The suture passer housing assembly includes two needles that are supported within the guide channel and are received within the longitudinal passages of the clamp member as the clamp member is inserted through the guide channel. Each of the needles receives a suture passer that includes a distal portion that is configured to engage a suture after the clamp member is received within the guide channel. When the suture is attached to the suture passers, the clamp member can be removed from the guide channel to apply a purse string suture to the tissue.
Minimally invasive suturing device
A minimally invasive suturing device is disclosed. The minimally invasive suturing device has a shaft and a distal tip. The minimally invasive suturing device also has a flexible span coupling the distal tip to the shaft. The flexible span has an angling link, a plurality of bending links, and an end link.
Surgical suturing device for repair of tricuspid regurgitation and methods thereof
A surgical suturing device is disclosed. The surgical suturing device may include a first or a second tissue gap, a first pair of needles configured to be movable across the first tissue gap, a second pair of needles configured to be movable across the second tissue gap, and a first suture having first and second ends. The surgical suturing device also includes a second suture having first and second ends and a needle actuator which selectively engages either: the first pair of needles to drive them through the first tissue gap and into communication with the first end of the first suture and the first end of the second suture, respectively; or the second pair of needles to drive them through the second tissue gap and into communication with the second end of the first suture and the second end of the second suture.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SUTURE PLACEMENT
A suturing device includes a curved needle, a suture, an elongate body, an actuator and a curved needle holder. The suture connects with the curved needle. The actuator interacts with the elongate body and is operable between a first operating position and a second operating position. The curved needle holder extends away from a distal end portion or is provided as part of the distal end portion of the elongate body. The curved needle holder includes a distal end section having a distal-most tip. The curved needle holder includes an inner surface defining a needle passage for holding the needle and a distal opening. The curved needle has a curved needle radius and the curved needle passage has a curved needle passage radius that is different than the curved needle radius and the curved needle frictionally engages the inner surface when the needle is in a retracted position.
DEVICES FOR CARDIAC SURGERY AND METHODS THEREOF
A device for cardiac surgery is disclosed. The device for cardiac surgery includes an aortic root retractor frame, an introducer, and one or more suture locking apparatuses. The device for cardiac surgery also includes an actuator for releasing the aortic root retractor frame, as well as a deployment mechanism for fully expanding the aortic root retractor frame. Multiple suture locking apparatuses used for releasable locking and unlocking of suture during a cardiac surgery procedure may be included in the device for cardiac surgery.
Loader for surgical suturing
