Systems and methods for ligament graft preparation
Systems and methods for preparing a ligament graft for a ligament reconstruction procedure are provided. In general, the described techniques utilize a graft preparation system having a holder and a delivery suture assembly removably coupled thereto. The delivery suture assembly can include a spine coupled with an anchor suture configured to form a self-tightening knot used to position the assembly around a graft and a plurality of suture windings configured to be affixed to the graft when the assembly is deployed. The assembly is delivered to the graft using the holder and the sutures can be affixed to the graft without penetrating therethrough. The spine helps to evenly distribute the load among the windings compressing the graft which are thus are capable of withstanding increased loads. Thus, an improved, simplified, and time- and labor-saving approach to preparing ligament grafts is provided.
SUTURING DEVICE HAVING NEEDLE CAPTURE CAPABILITIES
A suturing device includes an elongate body, a needle holder, a needle actuator mechanism, and a needle capture mechanism. The needle holder extends away from or is provided as part of a distal end portion of the elongate body. The needle holder defines a needle passage and a distal opening. The needle actuator interacts with a needle to move the needle from a retracted position toward the distal opening. The needle capture mechanism includes a needle capture member having a needle receiving portion. The needle receiving portion is capable of being positioned adjacent to and aligned with the distal opening in the needle holder to receive the associated needle exiting the needle passage through the distal opening and the needle receiving portion is capable of being offset from the distal opening so as to receive tissue between the needle capture member and the needle holder.
Twist needle passer closure device
A tissue closure device includes a needle and a suture extending therefrom, a proximal head including a proximal slot and a proximal locking mechanism for releasably engaging a first end of the needle in the proximal slot in a first configuration, and a distal head movably coupled to the proximal head so that the proximal and distal heads are movable relative to one another between an open configuration, in which a target tissue is received therebetween, and a closed configuration, in which the target tissue gripped therebetween. The distal head includes a distal slot and a distal locking mechanism for releasably engaging a second end of the needle in the distal slot in a second configuration, the needle movable between the first and second configurations by rotating the needle, the needle alternatingly passed between the proximal and distal heads to thread the suture through the target tissue.
SUTURING DEVICE HAVING ADJUSTABLE DISTAL END
A suturing device includes an elongate body, a needle, an actuator, and a needle holder. The actuator interacts with the elongate body and is operable between a first operating position and a second operating position. The actuator is configured such that movement of the actuator from the first operating position toward the second operating position moves the needle in an advance direction. The needle holder extends away from a distal end portion or is provided as part of the distal end portion of the elongate body. The needle holder defines a needle passage and a distal opening. The needle is positioned in the needle passage when the actuator is in the first operating position. The needle holder is configured to move with respect to the elongate body to change the location of the distal opening with respect to the elongate body.
Method and devices for implantation of biologic constructs
Methods for delivering a sheet-like implant to a target site including a means of deploying and orienting the sheet-like implant within the body.
Gastrointestinal tissue approximation clip (GI TAC) system
A gastrointestinal tissue approximation clip (GI TAC) system for approximating tissue defects, the GI TAC system including an applicator that is sized to travel through an instrument channel of an endoscope; a plurality of tissue approximation clips that are transported to a plurality of locations about a tissue defect by the applicator; a suture coupled to at least one of the tissue approximation clips; and a clip approximation means for approximating the tissue approximation clips. The clip approximation means and the tissue approximation clips are sized respectively to travel through the instrument channel, and the tissue approximation clips are adapted to be detachably coupled to the applicator.
SUTURING KIT
A suturing kit includes a needle, a suture, a suturing device, a surgical patch and a sealed package. The suture attaches to the needle. The suturing device includes a portion configured to be inserted into a patient during a surgical procedure, a needle holder configured to receive the needle in a retracted position and at least one actuator configured to drive the needle in an advance direction toward a released condition. The surgical patch includes an opening large enough to receive either at least a portion of the needle holder adjacent a distal tip of the needle holder or the needle. The sealed package contains the needle, the suture, the suturing device and the surgical patch.
DEVICE FOR PACEMAKER LEAD PLACEMENT AND METHODS THEREOF
A device for pacemaker lead placement is disclosed. The device has a device tip having a tissue bite area, ferrule holders, and needle tips. The device also has a lead end rest at the distal end, with a pacemaker lead end situated on the lead end rest, the pacemaker lead end having first and second anchor suture holes. The device further has an anchor suture with ferrules at respective ends of the anchor suture, wherein the ferrules of the anchor suture are passed through the anchor suture holes and into communication with the ferrule holders. The device further has one or more tube guides configured to organize and manage sutures during a minimally invasive surgical procedure.
Medical device management unit
The present invention relates to medical device management units and methods of their use. The medical device management units comprise two main pieces, a base piece, and a slide piece, as well as at least one medical device pathway defined by a surface means and a plurality of trenches. The invention may be used to keep two or more medical devices organized or it may be used to maintain control over the capture and release of a single medical device.
NEEDLE HARVESTING DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A suturing system including an elongate distal member, an elongate proximal member proximal the elongate distal member, and a needle guide disposed between the elongate distal member and the elongate proximal member. A plurality of needles with a needle tip of each needle of the plurality of needles are orientated generally proximally toward a single opening in a distal end of the elongate proximal member. When the needle tip of each of the plurality of needles is at least partially disposed within the single opening, a portion of each needle of the plurality of needles, proximal a distal end of the needle guide, being radially separated by a distance less than a diameter of the elongated proximal member.
