Radiolucent grasping device
A device to be used by an operator which may grasp objects in a sterile or non-sterile field, and may facilitate the precise placement and passage of a needle or pin into tissues while using X-ray guidance. The device provides a secure hold while keeping the hands remote from the radiation field, and by permitting non-obstructed viewing of the held instrument and tissues. A radiolucent hammer may be used to help drive a needle into firm tissues without obscuring visualization.
SURGICAL END EFFECTORS
An end effector for use with a surgical device is provided. The end effector includes a drive assembly, a driver, a needle assembly and a biasing element. The driver is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the drive assembly. Rotation of the drive assembly in a first direction causes distal translation of the driver with respect to the drive assembly. The needle assembly is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the driver. Distal translation of the driver causes a corresponding distal translation of the needle assembly. The biasing element is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the needle assembly and is configured to bias the needle assembly proximally.
SURGICAL END EFFECTORS
An end effector for use with a surgical device is provided. The end effector includes a drive assembly, a driver, a needle assembly and a biasing element. The driver is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the drive assembly. Rotation of the drive assembly in a first direction causes distal translation of the driver with respect to the drive assembly. The needle assembly is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the driver. Distal translation of the driver causes a corresponding distal translation of the needle assembly. The biasing element is disposed in mechanical cooperation with the needle assembly and is configured to bias the needle assembly proximally.
JAW FOR A SURGICAL TUBULAR SHAFT INSTRUMENT
A jaw assembly for a surgical tubular shaft instrument includes a supporting component, a first arm and a second arm, the first arm and/or the second arm each having one link element. The arms are held by the supporting component in the axial direction. A cam carrier element is axially movable relative to the supporting component and carries at least two cams. Each link element is designed to be in contact with at least two cams when there is a relative axial movement between the supporting component and the cam carrier element, the cams being provided on the cam carrier element. Each link element is further designed to slide off of the cams to effect an opening or closing of the jaw assembly.
SUTURING DEVICE
A suturing device includes a longitudinal axis member, an operation unit, a grasp portion, a suture needle, a first engaging member, a second engaging member, a first linear member connected to the first engaging member and the operation unit and configured to switch the first engaging member and the engaging portion into an engaged state or a disengaged state, and a second linear member connected to the second engaging member and the operation unit and configured to switch the second engaging member and the engaging portion into an engaged state or a disengaged state, wherein the first and the second linear member intersect a central axis of the longitudinal axis member between the grasp portion and a distal end of the longitudinal axis member and are inserted into an insertion path to be connected to the operation unit.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TENORRHAPHY
The invention comprises a system, method, and apparatus for securing two ends of a ruptured or partially ruptured tendon in the hand or wrist during a repair, recession, or revision procedure. During this tenorrhaphy, anchoring material is inserted into the proximal ruptured surface of the tendon by an apparatus comprising multiple needles of at least two different types. Connecting material spans the site of tenorrhaphy of a ruptured tendon, or a multiplicity of ruptured tendons. In some embodiments, interlocking patterns of loop and helical suture are inserted by straight and helical needles, respectively.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TENORRHAPHY

TRACTION TOOL, TRACTION SYSTEM, AND TRACTION METHOD AND SUTURING METHOD FOR SUTURE THREAD
A traction tool for performing traction, of a suture thread under a flexible endoscope is provided. The traction toot includes a first holder configured to hold the suture thread or a suture needle attached to the suture thread; a second holder having an engaging surface configured to engage the suture, thread such that the suture thread is capable of advancing and retracting and configured to release an engagement with the suture thread; and a guide member holding the first holder and the second holder such that the first holder and the second holder are relatively movable.
TRACTION TOOL, AND TRACTION METHOD FOR SUTURE THREAD AND SUTURING METHOD
A traction tool for performing traction of suture thread under a flexible endoscope is provided. The tool includes a shaft, a first holder which is provided at a distal end of the shaft and is configured to hold the suture thread or a suture needle attached to the suture thread, and second holder which is provided closer to a proximal end side of the shaft than the first holder and to which the suture thread is hooked. The second holder is expandable in a radial direction of the shaft.
Suture methods for forming locking loops stitches
Methods for suturing tissue by forming a locking loop of suture material. In particular, method of using a suture passer to arthroscopically create a locking loop of suture in difficult to access tissues. As used herein a locking loop of suture is a loop of suture that is passed through a tissue from a first side to a second side of the tissue; one or more of the legs of the loop extending from the first side are passed through the tissue to the second side of the tissue and are then passed through the loop, and the loop is cinched to tighten closed over the one or more legs. The resulting locking loops stitches are extremely strong and distribute the stresses across the tissue in a desirable manner.
