SURGICAL STAPLING INSTRUMENT
A surgical stapler can comprise an anvil comprising a staple pocket formed in a tissue contacting surface. The staple pocket can comprise a midline or centerline, a first forming cup, and a second forming cup. The first forming cup can comprise a first interior sidewall comprising a first vertical portion which is substantially perpendicular to the tissue contacting surface. The second forming cup can comprise a second interior sidewall comprising a second vertical portion which is substantially perpendicular to the tissue contacting surface. The first vertical portion and the second vertical portion can extend through the centerline, wherein the first interior sidewall and the second interior sidewall can comprise a trap for deforming a first staple leg of a staple to a first side of the centerline and for deforming a second staple leg of the staple to a second side of the centerline.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH WIRELESS COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A CONTROL UNIT OF A ROBOTIC SYSTEM AND REMOTE SENSOR
A surgical instrument for use with a robotic system that has a control unit and a shaft portion that includes an electrically conductive elongated member that is attached to a portion of the robotic system. The elongated member is configured to transmit control motions from the robotic system to an end effector.
Articulating mechanism for surgical instrument
A surgical instrument, such as a surgical fastener applying apparatus, includes a tool assembly, an endoscopic body portion, and an articulation mechanism. The articulation mechanism articulates the tool assembly in relation to the endoscopic body portion over large arc segments while providing simple operating components. Thus, the range of operation of the surgical instrument and the types of surgical activities that can be performed by the surgeon can be expanded without at the same time requiring complex operating components.
END EFFECTOR OF SURGICAL LINEAR STAPLER
Disclosed is an end effector of a surgical linear stapler, which includes a staple cartridge, an anvil, a pusher unit, a driving wedge, a stabilizer unit and a blade unit, wherein the stabilizer unit is arranged on the staple cartridge while neighboring on the pusher unit and at least partially discharged from the staple cartridge by the driving wedge so as to hold tissue placed in between the staple cartridge and the anvil.
TREATMENT DEVICE
A treatment device includes: an operating section; an elongated insertion section connected to the operating section; a pair of clamp members provided at the distal end of the insertion section so as to be openable and closable relative to each other; a movable member that is moved so as to push staples relative to tissue sandwiched between the clamp members; and a coil member that is arranged so as to pass through the insertion section in the longitudinal direction and that transmits a pressing force from the operating section to the movable member.
Articulatable surgical instrument comprising a firing drive
A surgical instrument can comprise a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an end effector rotatably coupled to the shaft by an articulation joint. The surgical instrument can further include a staple cartridge positioned within the end effector and a firing drive operably coupled with a trigger wherein the operation of the trigger can advance and/or retract a firing member of the firing drive relative to the end effector. The surgical instrument can further comprise an articulation drive which is selectively engageable with the firing drive. When the articulation drive is engaged with the firing drive, the operation of the firing drive can operate the articulation drive and articulate the end effector. When the articulation drive is not engaged with the firing drive, the firing drive can be operated independently of the articulation drive.
Surgical stapler tool assembly to minimize bleeding
A cartridge assembly for a surgical stapling device includes a staple cartridge that includes a staple array that has a configuration to minimize blood leakage through a staple line formed by the staple cartridge.
Surgical Brace Device for Stapled Tissue
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a surgical brace device for deployment across a line of stapled tissue of an organ comprises: a first splint member and a second splint member having a first end and a second end, and configured to be disposed on either side of the surgically stapled tissue; at least one strut member having a first end and a second end, wherein said first end of the strut member is fixedly joined with said first end of said first splint member and said second end of the strut member is fixedly joined with said first end of said second splint member and wherein said first splint member and said second splint member is dimensioned to span at least a portion of the width of said line of stapled tissue and a predetermined portion of said undisturbed tissue of said organ adjacent thereto; and a tie member configured to traverse the tissue of said organ disposed at a predetermined distance from said at least one strut member to interconnect and keep said first splint member and said second splint member from spreading and anchor said surgical brace device to said organ.
Knitted tissue scaffolds
Staple cartridge assemblies for use with surgical stapling instruments and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. Scaffolds for use with a surgical staple cartridge and methods for manufacturing the same are also provided.
Asymmetrical surgical stapling device
An endoscopic stapling device for tissue resection has an asymmetrical tool assembly that delivers a greater number of staples, or rows of staples, to healthy tissue that remains in a patient, and fewer number of staples, or rows of staples, to diseased or damaged tissue to be resected and removed from the patient. The tool assembly includes an asymmetric cartridge assembly and an asymmetric anvil assembly for applying the staples to the resected and healthy tissues. The endoscopic stapling device also includes an asymmetric drive assembly for actuating the tool assembly.
