Magnetic anastomosis device with opposing coil directionality
An anastomosis device includes magnets coupled to a wire capable of changing shape from a straight wire into a coil when deployed within a body. The coil exerts compressive force upon layers of tissue caught between loops of the coil. The compressive force is enhanced by attractive forces between magnets coupled with adjacent loops of the coil and causes the coil to cut through the tissue layers, creating an anastomosis. One end of the wire is preferably provided with a connecting member, such as a screw or a nut, for connecting with a delivery device. Positioned on or around the anastomosis device is an expandable drainage mechanism, such as a stent.
Magnetic positioning/deployment and retrieval system
Apparatuses for placement of magnetic therapeutic devices are provided. Such apparatuses may include an actuation mechanism that includes a movable portion that is movable relative to another portion thereof between at least three different predetermined relative locations, each location associated with a different position of a magnet located within a therapeutic device interface of the apparatus. By moving the magnet between the different locations relative to the therapeutic device interface, different amounts of magnetic clamping force between the magnet and a therapeutic device interfaced with the therapeutic device interface may be developed.
ENDOSCOPIC MAGNETIC ANASTOMOSIS SYSTEM, DEVICES AND METHOD
An endoscopic magnetic anastomosis system, devices and method for forming an anastomosis. The endoscopic magnetic anastomosis system includes an endoscopic assembly, a video processor console, a magnet detector, and a magnetic navigation console. The endoscopic assembly includes an endoscope, an adjustable snare mechanism, an outer sheath, and a magnetic implant assembly. The adjustable snare mechanism includes a snare assembly. The snare assembly passes through a snare channel in the endoscope and includes a snare catheter and a snare wire passing through the snare catheter. The snare is used to selectively tighten and release the magnetic implant assembly disposed at one end of the endoscope.
Magnetic implants having through-holes for forming an anastomosis
Systems and methods for forming an anastomosis between two adjacent walls of a digestive tract are provided. The system includes first and second magnetic implants comprising first and magnetic bodies, respectively. Each of the first and magnetic bodies comprises a tissue-oriented surface and a lumen-oriented surface, and defines a through-hole extending between the tissue-oriented surface and the lumen-oriented surface. The first and second magnetic implants are configured to magnetically couple to each other through the two adjacent walls of the digestive tract with the through-holes being at least partially superposable to each other to compress an annular portion of the two adjacent walls therebetween. The first and second magnetic implants can include various features such as being configured to selectively adopt a delivery or an anastomosis configuration, being dimensioned to maintain a preliminary passageway between the two adjacent walls within their outer periphery, being electrically insulated, etc.
Magnetic Anastomosis Device with an Embedded Drainage Mechanism
An anastomosis device includes magnets coupled to a wire capable of changing shape from a straight wire into a coil when deployed within a body. Positioned on or around the anastomosis device is an expandable drainage mechanism, such as a stent.
Anastomosis device with sensor for extracorporeal sensing and manipulation
The invention provides systems, devices, and methods for the delivery, deployment, and positioning of magnetic compression devices at a desired site so as to improve the accuracy of anastomoses creation between tissues, organs, or the like.
