A method of performing a surgical anastomosis is disclosed. The method includes providing an anastomotic device including a fluid supply channel extending between a handle assembly and a head assembly. The method also includes positioning the head assembly of the anastomotic device adjacent a hollow tissue organ, inserting the head assembly of the anastomotic device into the hollow tissue organ, and discharging an inflation fluid through at least one fluid outlet and into the hollow tissue organ to insufflate at least a portion of the hollow tissue organ.

Surgical apparatus and structure for applying sprayable wound treatment material

A surgical stapling apparatus is provided including a cartridge assembly defining a tissue contacting surface; an anvil assembly defining a tissue contacting surface; and a surgical buttress releasably secured to at least one of the tissue contacting surface of the cartridge assembly and the tissue contacting surface of the anvil assembly by at least one anchor. A loading unit is provided including a surgical buttress releasably secured to an anvil assembly and/or a staple cartridge secured thereto by at least one anchor, and a drive assembly including a knife blade, wherein movement of the drive assembly from a proximal position to a distal position results in the knife blade cutting the at least one anchor and freeing each surgical buttress from the anvil assembly and/or cartridge assembly.

Anastomosis Device For Making Anastomoses Between Hollow Structures

The present invention relates to an anastomosis system for realizing anastomosis between first and second hollow structures, such as end-to-side anastomosis, by way of a joining member and an applicator. The anastomosis system comprises an annular joining member adapted for joining the first and second hollow structures, a tubular member adapted to position the joining member at or proximate to a distal end of the second hollow structure and to be at least partially inserted into the second hollow structure, a support member adapted to hold the second hollow structure and a mechanism, for actuating the joining member when positioned at or proximate to the distal end of the second hollow structure, which joining member is actuated substantially radially relative to a longitudinal axis of the tubular member.

LARGE BORE VASCULAR CLOSURE SYSTEM

A vascular closure system for sealing an opening in a blood vessel may include an introducer sheath extending through the opening, the introducer sheath having a lumen extending through the introducer sheath, wherein partial withdrawal of the introducer sheath from the opening everts tissue of the blood vessel at the opening, and a shaping sheath slidably disposed over the introducer sheath, the shaping sheath having a split distal portion configured to engage the everted tissue.

CIRCULAR STAPLING DEVICE WITH ARTICULATING ANVIL RETAINER ASSEMBLY

A circular stapling device includes a handle assembly, an elongate body portion that extends distally from the handle assembly, a shell assembly supported on a distal end of the elongate body portion, an anvil retainer assembly extending through the shell assembly, and an anvil assembly supported on the anvil retainer assembly. The anvil retainer assembly includes a retainer member including a retainer body and an engagement member that is pivotally supported on the retainer body. The engagement member is movable axially in relation to the retainer body from a retracted position to an advanced position to move the engagement member to from a locked position to an unlocked position in relation to the retainer body. In the unlocked position, the engagement member is movable from a non-articulated position to an articulated position in relation to the retainer body.

An Asymmetric Anastomat with Anti-Reflux Effect for Esophagogastric Anastomosis
20250032118 · 2025-01-30 ·

The present invention discloses an asymmetric anastomat with anti-reflux effect for esophagogastric anastomosis, the improvements lie in that the end face of a nail bin is formed by two arc-shaped plates that are bent towards the same direction and connected and closed in an end-to-end manner to form an arc-shaped cavity, nail outlet holes in the arc-shaped plates are provided around the arc-shaped cavity, and a cutter is consistent with the arc-shaped cavity in shape and is attached to the edge of the inner side wall of the arc-shaped cavity; a stapling anvil plate on the bottom face of the nail abutting base is formed by working out a cutting groove in a circular plate, the shape of the cutting groove is consistent with the shape of the arc-shaped cavity in the end face of the nail bin, and nail abutting grooves that match the nail outlet holes in position and shape are formed in the stapling anvil plate. After anastomosis with the asymmetric anastomat for esophagus and stomach in the present invention, redundant esophageal and gastric tissues on the anterior wall are deformed into the stomach to form a tongue piece by suturing to a seromuscular layer, and, in conjunction with manual folding and suturing at the posterior wall, valvula-like tongue pieces that are closed towards each other are formed in the stomach cavity, so that a valvula-like structure is formed together. The anastomotic stoma passage is in a valvula-like closed state when no food is eaten, and the anastomotic stoma is opened due to the peristalsis pressure of the esophagus and an expansion effect of a food mass during eating, so that a cardia-like effect of preventing stomach-esophageal reflux is achieved.
