Implantable sphincter assistance device with deformable elements
A sphincter augmentation device includes a plurality of interlinked bodies and a pair of device ends configured to releasably couple together to secure the bodies in a loop formation sized to fit around an internal anatomical passageway of a patient. The device further includes a plurality of resilient members, with each resilient member extending between an adjacent pair of the bodies. The resilient members are configured to elastically deform to permit the device to transition between a radially contracted state and a radially expanded state. The resilient members bias the device toward the radially contracted state in which the device exerts an inwardly directed force on the anatomical passageway to selectively limit passage of fluids therethrough. The device further includes an expansion limiting member that extends between and is slidably received by an adjacent pair of the bodies, and is configured to limit radial expansion of the device.
Hemostatic device
A hemostatic device includes a band for wrapping around a puncture site of a wrist, a mechanism for securing the band to the wrist in a wrapped state, an inflatable portion connected to the band and inflated by being injected with gas, an injection part which is elastically transformable and is capable of injecting air into the inflatable portion, and a tube body that connects an inflatable space of the inflatable portion and a housing space of the injection part to each other, in which the tube body has a hole portion opening in the inflatable portion and a cover portion disposed on the tube body to cover the hole portion, and the cover portion has a communication portion that allows communication between the inflatable space and the housing space by air discharged from the hole portion when air is injected into the inflatable portion from the injection part.
Hemostatic device
A hemostatic device includes a band for wrapping around a puncture site of a wrist, a mechanism for securing the band to the wrist in a wrapped state, an inflatable portion connected to the band and inflated by being injected with air, a tube body that communicates between an inflatable space of the inflatable portion and an outside, and a cover portion that covers the tube body in the inflatable portion, in which the tube body has a hole portion that opens in the inflatable portion, the cover portion has a communication portion that is disposed to cover the hole portion and allows communication between the hole portion and the inflatable portion by being positioned to overlap the hole portion, and the tube body is movable relative to the cover portion so that a positional relation between the communication portion and the hole portion is controllable.
DELAYING PRE-TERM BIRTH
A device for retarding birth, forming a lumen for surrounding a uterine cervix, the device including an upper ring for surrounding the uterine cervix, and an anchoring mechanism for anchoring the device on the cervix. A tool for inserting a device for retarding birth, the device including a device lumen for surrounding a uterine cervix, the tool including a plurality of rods attached to two rings, forming a longitudinal tool lumen, each rod including a connector for attaching to the device for retarding birth at a distal end of the rod, and a mechanism at a proximal end of the rod, for detaching the device for retarding birth at the distal end of the rod. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
ENDOSCOPE ACCESSORY DEVICES
The disclosure provides endoscopic accessory devices and methods of using same, the accessory devices having an elongated shaft with a tissue engagement member at its distal end, the tissue engagement member configured to encircle gastrointestinal tissue when applied thereagainst.
Method and device for restricting blood flow
Disclosed herein are methods and devices forrestricting the blood flow of an area in a subject. The device includes a restrictor, a bolt and a strip. The restrictor includes a cylindrical body having one open end, one closed end, and a passage therethrough, in which the inner surface of the cylindrical body towards the open end is threaded; and a protrusion disposed on the outer surface of the closed end of the body. The strip is preferably made of an elastic material and is coupled to the protrusion of the restrictor at one end, while allowing the other end (i.e., the free end) to circumvent the area before passing through the passage of the cylindrical body to form a loop that can be tightened to restrict the blood flow of the area in the subject. The bolt has a head and a threaded shaft, wherein the bolt is capable of being driven into the cylindrical body through the open end to engage the threaded shaft of the bolt with the threaded inner surface of the cylindrical body until the end of the threaded shaft of the bolt is held against the strip so as to hold the loop in place and thereby restricting the blood flow of the area.
RUBBER BAND LIGATION SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF HEMORRHOIDS
A system including an anoscope having a first channel extending along a longitudinal axis and a second channel positioned at an angle to the first channel. For hemorrhoid treatment, an elastic band ligation device is insertable into the second channel, the elastic band ligation device carrying an elastic band and having an advancer movable in a distal direction to dislodge the elastic band.
SYSTEM FOR HYPOTHERMIA TREATMENT OF A PATIENT
A constriction device (100) adapted to be placed on the head of a patient for regulating the temperature of the brain. The constriction device comprises at least two protruding pressure elements (101a′, 101b′, 101c′) configured to create bilateral pressure on at least one from a list consisting of: the facial veins (10), the superficial temporal veins (20), the posterior auricular veins (30), and the occipital veins (40), such that the blood flow in the constricted veins is restricted.
Multi-band rubber band ligation device and method of operation thereof
A rectal injection device and a method of operating the same. In one embodiment, the device includes: (1) a body having a handle, (2) a suction system associated with the body, (3) a trigger associated with the handle, (4) a pod coupled to the body via a neck and (5) multiple suction ports associated with the pod, each of the multiple suction ports configured to receive a ligation band thereabout, the suction system configured to provide a suction to the multiple suction ports to draw tissue thereinto, the pod configured to deploy the ligation bands upon activation of the trigger.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TISSUE LIGATION
The present disclosure relates generally to medical devices, ligators, and methods for deploying ligation bands around a portion of tissue. In some embodiments, a medical device may include a plunger biasable within a first tube, the first tube including a band along a first tube distal end. The medical device may further include a second tube surrounding the first tube, the second tube comprising a second tube proximal end opposite a second tube distal end, wherein the second tube distal end includes an engagement member operable to dispense the band from the first tube in response to axial movement of the first and second tubes relative to one another.
