Surgical system including a control circuit and a passively-powered transponder
A surgical instrument for use with a robotic system that has a control unit and a shaft portion that includes an electrically conductive elongated member that is attached to a portion of the robotic system. The elongated member is configured to transmit control motions from the robotic system to an end effector.
Reloadable and rotatable clip
A system for treating tissue includes a clip assembly having a pair of clip arms. Proximal ends of the clip arms engage a distal portion of a central member slidably received within a channel of a capsule to be moved between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The central member includes the distal portion and a proximal portion connected to one another via a releasable connection which releases when subject to a force exceeding a predetermined threshold level. The system also includes an applicator releasably coupled to the clip assembly. The applicator includes an outer sleeve through which a control member extends. A distal end of the control member engages a cavity of the proximal portion to move the central member relative to the capsule. A lumen of the outer sleeve is sized and shaped to slidably receive the capsule therein.
LIGATION CLIP LOADING DEVICE
A ligation clip loading device includes a cannula including a cannula body and an instrument lumen extending through a longitudinal axis of the cannula body, and a stack of ligation clips axially arranged about the instrument lumen. The ligation clips are accessible through a series of slots allowing for loading of an endoscopic clip applier with the ligation clips within a body cavity, such as an intra-abdominal cavity.
LIGATING CLIP CARTRIDGE
A cartridge for ligating clips includes compartments formed of partitions lying in spaced parallel planes and a stringer spanning between the partitions. The legs of a clip are joined at a hinge which is seated over the stringer. The stringer comprises a substantially cylindrical body and a depending narrow support flange. Opposed faces of adjacent partitions include areas of reduced thickness spaced apart a distance sufficient to permit limited pivotal movement of the clip about the stringer. An abutment edge of the partition face provides a stop which is engaged by bosses at the ends of the clip legs to limit pivotal movement of the clip legs and prevent ribs of the clip from engaging the stringer.
METHOD OF HUB COMMUNICATION WITH SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS
A method for adjusting the operation of a clip applier using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed. The method comprises gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a clip applier comprising a crimping drive configured to be mechanically advanced through a crimping stroke. The method further comprises analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the clip applier and adjusting the operation of the clip applier to improve the operation of the clip applier.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A MEDICAL CLIP APPLIER
Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for articulating medical instruments. In one aspect, the instrument includes a wrist having at least one degree of freedom of movement, and an end effector coupled to the wrist. The end effector can include a cartridge for delivering a plurality of clips to tissue. The wrist may include one or more cables capable of moving an actuator with one degree of freedom of movement within the end effector to advance one or more clips through the end effector.
CIRCULAR FASTENER CARTRIDGES FOR APPLYING RADIALLY EXPANDABLE FASTENER LINES
A fastener cartridge assembly for use with a circular surgical fastening device. The fastener cartridge assembly includes a cartridge body that has a circular deck. A plurality of fastener cavities is provided in the circular deck. Each fastener cavity includes two cavity ends wherein one cavity end of each of the fastener cavities is positioned on a first circular axis having a first radius and wherein the other cavity end of each fastener cavity is positioned on a second circular axis that has a second radius that differs from the first radius.
Malleable plastic surgical clip
An integral surgical clip includes two clamping arms and a non-spring-elastic connection portion that interconnects the two clamping arms in an integral manner. The two clamping arms on account of a plastic deformation of the clip are pivotable towards one another from an opened initial position up to a closed end position. The two clamping arms engage on the connection portion so as to be mutually spaced apart and are in each case extended beyond the connection portion by one lever arm molded thereon, and wherein, by squeezing the two lever arms, the two clamping arms, on account of a plastic deformation of the connection portion, are pivotable from the closed end position to an opened position. The two lever arms, in particular at the external ends thereof, are interconnected by an external connection arm.
Medical clip cartridge
A medical clip cartridge (1) for connecting a medical clip (22) to a line member (25) having a connection part (31) on a distal part thereof, comprising an insertion port (2) for inserting a line member (25), an insertion path (3) extending distally from the insertion port (2), and a storing part (4) for storing a clip (22), that is connected to a distal end of the insertion path (3), wherein the insertion path (3) has a protrusion (5) projecting from an inner surface of the insertion path, and the protrusion (5) has a part whose top surface widens toward a distal end thereof and whose height from the inner surface of the insertion path increases toward the distal end.
LIGATION CLIP CARTRIDGE
A ligation clip cartridge includes a housing and one or more retaining members. The housing defines a plurality of clip recesses that receive ligation clips. The retaining members are positioned on the housing to engage the clips within the housing in an unbiased state to minimize damage to the clip material caused by strain on the clip.
