Method and device for treating dysfunctional cardiac tissue

Various methods and devices are provided for reducing the volume of the ventricles of the heart. In one embodiment, a method for reducing the ventricular volume of a heart chamber is provided including the steps of inserting an anchoring mechanism onto dysfunctional cardiac tissue, deploying one or more anchors into the dysfunctional cardiac tissue, raising the dysfunctional cardiac tissue using the anchors, and securing the anchors to hold the dysfunctional cardiac tissue in place. Further, a device for reducing the volume of the ventricles of a heart chamber is provided where the device has one or more clips for placement on dysfunctional cardiac tissue of a heart, one or more anchors for deployment and securement into the dysfunctional cardiac tissue, and a lifting mechanism for raising the one or more anchors and the dysfunctional cardiac tissue.

A transcatheter atrio-ventricular valve prosthesis for functional replacement of an atrio-ventricular valve in a connection channel, having a circumferential connection channel wall structure, between atrial and ventricular chambers of a heart, including an inner device to be disposed in the interior of the connection channel, the inner device having a circumferential support structure which is radially expandable and having a valve attached to the circumferential support structure, and an outer device to be disposed on the exterior of the connection channel, wherein the outer device at least partly extends around the inner device at a radial distance to the inner device, wherein the inner and outer devices form a securing mechanism for securing the circumferential connection channel wall structure therebetween.

Endoscopic Suture And Cinch Anastomotic Leak Repair Device

A system for treating tissue includes a first fastener including a first anchoring element at a distal end thereof for anchoring the first fastener in a first target portion of tissue extending about a periphery of a tissue defect to be treated and a first suture extending from a proximal end thereof. The system also includes a second fastener including a second anchoring element at a distal end thereof for anchoring the second fastener in a second target portion of tissue extending about a periphery of a tissue defect to be treated and a second suture extending from a proximal end thereof. Furthermore, the system includes a cinch element disposed about both of the first and second sutures and slidable therealong such that a tension applied to the first and second sutures draws the first and second fasteners toward one another to close the tissue defect.

SYSTEMS FOR ENDOSCOPIC SUBMUCOSAL DISSECTION

A surgical system for performing an endoscopic submucosal dissection includes first and second surgical clips each having first and second jaw members for grasping tissue therebetween. The first surgical clip includes a resilient member attached to one of the jaw members and configured to bow outwardly to engage tissue. The jaw members of the first surgical clip each has a pointed tip and each of the jaw members of the second surgical clip has a blunt distal tip.

End effector instrument, end effector device, delivery device, and assembly box

The present disclosure relates to an end effector instrument. The end effector instrument may include an end effector device. The end effector device may include a clip and a resilient portion including a connecting hole and a limiting convex. The end effector instrument may further include a delivery device including a sheath and a shaft. The sheath may include a passage that accommodates the shaft. A distal end of the shaft may include a connecting end. The sheath may include a limiting concave. The connecting end may extend into or exit from the connecting hole when the sheath is set outside the resilient portion: when the connecting end extends into the connecting hole, the resilient portion may expand outward, and the limiting convex may extend into the limiting concave; when the connecting end exits from the connecting hole, the resilient portion may rebound, and the limiting convex may exit from the limiting concave. The end effector device may be operated repeatedly, and the delivery device may be reused.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TISSUE RESECTION

Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, systems, and methods for tissue resection in a body lumen of a patient, and may include an elongate body having a cavity at a distal end and a tissue retractor extendable distally from the distal end of the elongate body. The tissue retractor may include an expansion mechanism. The expansion mechanism may include a plurality of arms each having a first end coupled around a distal cap and expandable radially outward from the distal cap such that an anchoring mechanism on a second end of the arms is engageable with selected tissue for resection of the body lumen. The tissue resection device may further include a tissue resecting device.

Devices and methods for reconnecting or supporting torn, damaged or weak tissue are disclosed. The disclosed embodiments can be used on long slender tissue such as ligaments, tendons, nerves, vessels, intestines, muscles, bones, appendages and any other elongate tissue within the body, of both humans and other animals. The devices can wrap around elongate tissue and is capable of supporting the tissue or keeping two severed ends in close proximity to one another. The devices can be used in addition to or in lieu of sutures. The devices can function similar to a Chinese Finger Trap and are capable of decreasing in diameter upon extension, thus constricting upon the tissue. The multiple coils of the devices can make sufficient surface contact on the ligament or tendon, using friction to keep the device in place, while also allowing access for diffusion of oxygen and nutrients.
