EXCLUSION DEVICE SPRINGS AND RELATED METHODS
Exclusion devices for anatomical structures, and related instruments and related methods, are disclosed. An exclusion device for an anatomical structure may include a first beam, a second beam, and/or a first spring operatively coupled to the first beam and the second beam to exert a closing force on the first beam and the second beam. The first spring may be generally U-shaped and/or may include a first end portion and a second end portion generally opposite a connecting portion.
VASCULAR IMPLANT
A medical implant (20) includes first and second ring members (22, 24), each including a resilient framework (26) having a generally cylindrical form. A tubular sleeve (28) is fixed to the first and second ring members so as to hold the ring members in mutual longitudinal alignment, thereby defining a lumen (32) passing through the ring members. A constricting element (30) is fit around the sleeve at a location intermediate the first and second ring members so as to reduce a diameter of the lumen at the location.
FLEXIBLE STABILIZING MEMBER FOR A CLIP APPLIER
A clip applier is provided for applying a surgical clip to tissue. The clip applier may include a first jaw member that engages a first distal portion of the surgical clip, and a second jaw member that engages a second distal portion of the surgical clip. The first and second jaw members move relative to each other between an open configuration and a closed configuration. A first longitudinal channel extends through a first inner portion of the first jaw member and separates the first jaw member into a pair of first extensions. A first stabilizing member has a first distal end portion fixedly secured to the first jaw member inside of the first longitudinal channel, and a first proximal end portion that engages a first proximal portion the surgical clip to reduce movement of the surgical clip.
COLLET DEPLOYABLE HEMOSTASIS CLIP
A clipping system includes a device including longitudinal slots extending through a wall thereof and a clip releasably received within a distal portion of the device. The clip includes a capsule and a pair of clip arms. Proximal ends of the arms are slidably received within the capsule and a collet is slidably mounted over the device movable between an insertion configuration, in which the collet is positioned over the distal portion of the device pressing the distal portion against the capsule and a deployed configuration, in which the collet is proximal of the distal portion so that the clip is releasable from the device. A control member extends through the channel of the device to couple to the proximal ends of the arms and a portion of the collet. Movement of the member opens and closes the clip and moves the collet between the insertion and deployed configurations.
Apparatus and methods for occluding an anatomical structure
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for occluding an anatomical structure including an occlusion apparatus having first and second beams and at least one connector for connecting the respective ends of the beams together. The occlusion apparatus may be adapted for use in a deployment device having a pair of jaws and optionally having a respective pair of shuttle bodies for releasably connecting an occlusion apparatus to the jaws while in an open position and for releasing the occlusion device from the jaws while in a closed position. A system for occluding an anatomical structure is also disclosed that includes an occlusion apparatus and a deployment device for holding the occlusion apparatus in an open position for locating the occlusion device adjacent the anatomical structure to be occluded and then moving the occlusion apparatus to a closed position and locking the occlusion apparatus in the closed position.
Tissue closure
A device for fastening tissue includes (a) a shaft extending longitudinally from a distal end insertable into a body to a proximal end attached to a controller which remains outside of the body, the shaft including a lumen extending therethrough and an opening extending through a wall of a distal portion thereof to open the lumen to an exterior of the shaft; (b) a first roller housed within the lumen adjacent to a first longitudinal edge of the opening such that a rotation of the first roller grasps and draws tissue from the body into the lumen in combination; and (c) a fastening element housed within the lumen adjacent to the opening and movable from a tissue receiving configuration to a tissue gripping configuration.
Heart valve regurgitation anchor and delivery tool
A heart valve anchor apparatus may include a body having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The body may include a first radially expandable portion at the proximal portion of the body, a second radially expandable portion at the distal portion of the body, and a root portion extending from the first radially expandable portion to the second radially expandable portion, the root portion having an outer extent. The first radially expandable portion may be configured to self-expand to an outer extent greater than the outer extent of the root portion when radially unconstrained. The second radially expandable portion may be configured to self-expand to an outer extent greater than the outer extent of the root portion when radially unconstrained. In an unstressed configuration, the body may define a longitudinal centerline that extends away from a plane tangent to the root portion.
Ligation clip cartridge
A ligation clip cartridge includes a housing and one or more retaining members. The housing defines a plurality of clip recesses that receive ligation clips. The retaining members are positioned on the housing to engage the clips within the housing in an unbiased state to minimize damage to the clip material caused by strain on the clip.
CLOSURE DEVICE WITH FIXED JAW HOOK
A device includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough. The capsule is releasably coupled to a proximal portion of the device. Device also includes a first arm rigidly fixed to the distal end of the capsule to extend distally therefrom. In addition, Device includes a second arm, a proximal end of which is slidably received within the capsule so that the second arm is movable between an open configuration, in which the second arm is moved laterally away from the first arm and a distal end of the second arm is moved distally past the distal end of the first arm, and a closed configuration, in which the second arm is moved toward the first arm and the distal end of the second arm is moved proximally toward the distal end of the first arm.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR CLAMPING A LEAFLET OF A HEART VALVE
A clip and a clip deployment and delivery system. The clip may be engaged with a clip spreader such that simple relative movement, such as sliding movement, between the clip and clip spreader causes the clip and clip spreader to disengage from each other. A clip spreader actuator may be coupled to one arm of the clip spreader, extend distally around a distal end of the clip spreader, proximally along the other clip spreader arm, and to a proximal end at which the actuator may be controlled to open or close the clip spreader. The clips may be leaflet clips having teeth on one arm thereof and bumps on another arm thereof. The arms of the leaflet clip may be biased into a closed configuration by a flex zone which has an expanded portion extending laterally away from only one of the clip arms.
