Hemostasis clip short system
A device includes a capsule along with first and second clip arms, proximal ends of which are received within the channel so that the first and second clip arms are movable relative to one another between an open configuration and a closed configuration. A deployment mechanism includes a tension member connected to a proximal end of the first and second arms, a yoke releasably coupled to the tension member and longitudinally movable relative to the capsule to move the first and second arms between the open and closed configurations. The tension member and yoke are configured to separate from one another in response to a predetermined proximal force relative to the tension member. A locking mechanism is coupled to the deployment mechanism and is configured to engage the capsule to lock the one-piece clipping element in the closed configuration, when the yoke is separated from the tension member.
METHOD FOR SMART ENERGY DEVICE INFRASTRUCTURE
A method for characterizing a state of an end effector of an ultrasonic device is disclosed. The ultrasonic device including an electromechanical ultrasonic system defined by a predetermined resonant frequency. The electromechanical ultrasonic system further including an ultrasonic transducer coupled to an ultrasonic blade. The method including applying, by an energy source, a power level to the ultrasonic transducer, measuring, by a control circuit coupled to a memory, an impedance value of the ultrasonic transducer, comparing, by the control circuit, the impedance value to a reference impedance value stored in the memory; classifying, by the control circuit, the impedance value based on the comparison; characterizing, by the control circuit, the state of the electromechanical ultrasonic system based on the classification of the impedance value; and adjusting, by the control circuit, the power level applied to the ultrasonic transducer based on the characterization of the state of the end effector.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR LEAFLET FOLDING OR CAPTURE
Methods and tools for folding and/or capturing leaflets of a heart valve are disclosed herein. Prior to or during installing of a prosthetic heart valve, part of a leaflet of an existing valvular structure can be positioned distally and/or folded upon itself. The existing valvular structure may be a native heart valve or a previously-implanted prosthetic heart valve. When the existing valvular structure is at the aortic position, the prosthetic heart valve can be subsequently installed within the existing valvular structure such that the leaflet is maintained in a location that avoids obstructing blood flow to one or more of the coronary arteries.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR DETECTING FLUID FLOW
A medical device may comprise a plurality of prongs, each of the prongs having a sensor configured to detect a flow of fluid; and a sleeve disposed radially outward of the plurality of prongs. The sleeve may be configured to move proximally and distally relative to the plurality of prongs to transition the plurality of prongs from a contracted configuration to an expanded configuration.
Devices and methods for reducing a dimension of openings in tissue
A clip for reducing a dimension of an opening in tissue may include a continuous member having a plurality of legs and a plurality of preformed bends connecting adjacent legs, wherein the plurality of legs form: a first group having two protrusions; a second group having two protrusions; and a third group having two protrusions, wherein each protrusion of each group includes two legs of the continuous member and a corresponding preformed bend connecting the two legs, and each protrusion of each group extends from a region adjacent a first end of the clip to a region adjacent a second end of the clip.
Surgical clip and clip applier
A clip applier assembly may include a surgical clip and a clip applier. The surgical clip may include first and second leg members configured to ligate tissue. The first leg member may include a first proximal portion, a first distal portion, a first inner surface, and a first outer surface. The first outer surface may have a convex curvature. The second leg member may include a second proximal portion, a second distal portion, a second inner surface, and a second outer surface. The second leg member may further include an inner portion and an outer portion separated by a channel. The second outer surface may be formed on the outer portion and have a convex curvature. The clip applier may have a first jaw member configured to engage the first outer surface and a second jaw member configured to engage the second outer surface.
Endoscopic reposable surgical clip applier
A clip cartridge assembly for use with a reposable surgical clip applier includes a clip tray, a plurality of surgical clips, and a cover. The clip tray includes a plurality of distally oriented, deflectable, resilient fingers projecting from a base wall thereof. Each resilient finger terminates in a distal shoulder and a proximal end of the clip tray is configured for selective connection with a clip pusher bar of an endoscopic assembly of the reposable surgical clip applier. The cover includes a plurality of distally oriented, deflectable, resilient fingers projecting within a channel defined through proximal and distal ends thereof. Each resilient finger of the cover terminates in a distal shoulder and the cover includes a pair of opposed slots defined within sidewalls of the channel configured to slidably retain the clip tray and the plurality of surgical clips therein. A reposable surgical clip applier is also provided.
REPAIR ASSEMBLY AND REPAIR ASSEMBLY IMPLANTATION DEVICE
A repair assembly and a repair assembly implantation device are provided. The repair assembly comprises a first implant, a second implant, and a wire clamping device; the first implant and the second implant each comprises a first fastener, a second fastener, a transverse tube and a locking wire; the first fastener and the second fastener are connected to the transverse tube by means of connecting wires, and the locking wire is connected to the transverse tube; the wire clamping device is configured to clamp the locking wire.
EXCLUSION DEVICE SPRINGS AND RELATED METHODS
Exclusion devices for anatomical structures, and related instruments and related methods, are disclosed. An exclusion device for an anatomical structure may include a first beam, a second beam, and/or a first spring operatively coupled to the first beam and the second beam to exert a closing force on the first beam and the second beam. The first spring may be generally U-shaped and/or may include a first end portion and a second end portion generally opposite a connecting portion.
