COMPUTER-ASSISTED ARTHROPLASTY SYSTEM
20230181257 · 2023-06-15 ·

A computer-implemented method for creating an activity-optimized cutting guides for surgical procedures includes receiving one or more pre-operative images depicting one or more anatomical joints of a patient, and creating a three-dimensional anatomical model of the one or more anatomical joints based on the one or more pre-operative images. One or more patient-specific anatomical measurements are determined based on the three-dimensional anatomical model. A statistical model of joint performance is applied to the patient-specific anatomical measurements to identify one or more cut angles for performing a surgical procedure. A patient-specific cutting guide is created that comprises one or more apertures positioned based on the one or more cut angles.

SURGICAL UPPER COMPUTER FOR TOTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY, AND TOTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY SYSTEM

A surgical upper computer for a total knee arthroplasty, and a total knee arthroplasty system, and in the field of surgical equipment. The surgical upper computer includes a memory storing a first computer program which enables a processor to execute a first operating mode of the surgical upper computer, where the first operating mode includes: exhibiting, by an interactive interface, to a user, first information to be input, the first information including a magnitude range and change interval of a pushing force applied between a femur and a tibia; in response to user input, controlling a butting member and a push plate to apply different pushing forces at a preset joint flexion angle, and acquiring relationship data between the pushing force and a gap; and displaying the relationship data. Accordingly, the force and gap between soft tissues in the total knee arthroplasty can be acquired and displayed.

Orthopaedic system and method for assembling prosthetic components

An orthopaedic system and method to assemble an orthopaedic prosthesis is disclosed. The system may also include prosthetic trial components, which may be used to size and select the components of the orthopaedic prosthesis. The system may include components of the orthopaedic prosthesis such as, for example, a prosthetic femoral component, a prosthetic tibial component, a prosthetic stem component, and a prosthetic sleeve component.

Instrumented linkage system

An instrumented linkage system (100) to facilitate accuracy and efficiency of a surgical procedure is disclosed. The linkage system may be directly attached to a bone and used to register the bone to a computer. The linkage system may also be used to verify the accuracy and alignment of planned resections relative to the bone.

Method and apparatus for reconstructing a hip joint, including the provision and use of a novel arthroscopic debridement template for assisting in the treatment of cam-type femoroacetabular impingement

Apparatus for use in debriding a bone, said apparatus comprising: an arthroscopic debridement template comprising a body reconfigurable between (i) a first configuration having a first profile and comprising an arc matching the desired curvature of the bone after debridement, and (ii) a second configuration having a second profile, wherein said second profile is smaller than said first profile.

KNEE TENSIONER WITH DIGITAL FORCE AND DISPLACEMENT SENSING

A tensioner tool for assessing joint laxity is disclosed. The tensioner tool comprises a pair of pivotally coupled arms, each arm comprising a proximal handle portion, a distal portion, and an insertion tip selectively coupled to the distal portion. The pair of arms pivot between a compressed configuration for insertion within the joint and an expanded configuration for distraction of the joint by applying a force to the handles, thus spreading the insertion tips. The tensioner tool also comprises a force sensor configured to measure the force applied to the handle portion and a positional sensor configured to measure a separation distance between the pair of arms. The tensioner tool also comprises a processor configured to calculate a distraction force at the insertion tips based on the measured force and to calculate a tip distance between the insertion tips based on the measured separation distance.

Three-dimensional selective bone matching

A method of generating a custom three-dimensional model of a bone is disclosed. A 2D image of the bone is obtained and an orientation and scale of the 2D image are aligned to a pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, a representative bone is identified from a library of representative bones that are aligned to the pre-determined coordinate system. Based on the 2D image, an ideal view of a 3D model of the representative bone is selected. Modifications may be made to the 3D model by using additional representative bones from the library. A custom three-dimensional model of the bone is thereby generated.

A method for preparing bone to receive a prosthetic implant, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, positioning a bone preparation guide assembly on a bone, reaming the bone through a first cut opening of the bone preparation guide assembly, dividing the first cut opening into at least two distinct slots and making cuts in the bone through the at least two distinct slots.

Patient-specific knee alignment guide and associated method

A method of preparing a knee joint for a prosthesis in a patient includes mating a patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface of a femoral alignment guide onto a corresponding three-dimensional femoral joint surface of the patient. The patient-specific three-dimensional curved inner surface is preoperatively configured from medical scans of the knee joint of the patient. First and second holes are drilled into an anterior portion of the femoral joint surface through corresponding first and second guiding apertures of the femoral alignment guide.

Surgical templates

A surgical template system for use in working on a bone comprises: a tool guide block comprising at least one guide aperture for receiving and guiding a tool to work on a bone; locating means comprising a plurality of locating members, each member having a respective end surface for positioning against a surface of the bone; and attachment means for non-adjustably attaching the tool guide block to the locating means such that, when attached, the member end surfaces are secured in fixed position with, respect to each other, for engaging different respective portions of the surface of the bone, and the at least one guide aperture is secured in a fixed position with respect to the end surfaces. Corresponding methods of manufacturing a surgical template system, methods of manufacturing locating means for a surgical template system, methods of fitting a prosthesis to a bone, surgical methods, and surgical apparatus are described.
