TOOL FOR BONE IMPLANT
A tool for a bone implant includes a sleeve and a transmission rod including a transmission member disposed on an end of a shaft. Another end of the shaft is located outside of the sleeve. The transmission member is received in the sleeve and includes a first compartment and a plurality of first teeth surrounding the first compartment. A drilling rod includes a second compartment and a plurality of second teeth surrounding the second compartment. A coupling portion is disposed between the second compartment and a bit. The coupling portion is coupled with the sleeve. The bit is located outside of the sleeve. Two magnets are disposed in the first and second compartments, respectively. Two same poles respectively of the two magnets face each other.
SURGERY INSTRUMENTS WITH A MOVABLE HANDLE
Various surgical tools having a movable handle mechanism including a positioning handle are disclosed. The movable handle mechanism may be configured to move forward and backward in a longitudinal direction along the housing and rotate clockwise and counterclockwise around the housing. In various embodiments, the housing may include a plurality of channels and each channel may have at least one detent. The movable handle mechanism may be configured to securely couple to the housing via one channel of the plurality of channels and one detent of the plurality of detents. At least one surgical tool may include a drill having an angled tip portion and a sleeve configured to protect adjacent structures from lateral edges of the drill bit when the drill bit is rotating. Another surgical tool may include a screwdriver having an elastic retaining clip configured to progressively release a bone screw therein at an extraction force.
Measurement module for measuring depth of bore holes and related accessories
A drill bit comprises a shank extending along an axis and an interface comprising at least one outermost drive portion spaced at a first interface distance from the axis. The drill bit further comprises a resilient arm extending from a proximal end of the shank. The resilient arm comprises an outer arm surface facing away from the axis and a retention surface facing toward a distal end of the shank. The retention surface may be radially aligned about the axis with respect to the outermost drive portion. The resilient arm is movable between: a first position where the outer arm surface is spaced from the axis at a first arm distance greater than the first interface distance, and a second position where the outer arm surface is spaced from the axis at a second arm distance less than or equal to the first interface distance.
ACETABULAR CUP REMOVER ASSEMBLY
A cup remover instrument assembly for removing an acetabular cup in a revision hip procedure comprising: a positioning member supporting a cutting assembly having a cutting blade and a detachable drive member for selectively rotating the cutting assembly to cut around a cup to detach the cup from a patient's natural acetabulum. In embodiments, the positioning member is sized and configured to operate in a main incision, while the drive member is sized and configured to operate in a portal incision. In embodiments, the cutting blade is detachable for use in selecting blades for cup sizes. In embodiments, the cutting blade is selectively extendable from the cutting assembly. In other embodiments, the cutting blade is hemispherical and is rotated by a power driver.
SURGICAL BONE PREPARATION INSTRUMENT AND ASSEMBLY COMPRISING SUCH AN INSTRUMENT
This surgical bone preparation instrument (1) comprises a main body (5) terminated by a contacting surface (50) adapted to abut on a bone (B), and a sliding body (7) equipped with a cutting element (3) and which is movable in translation with respect to the main body (5). The bone preparation instrument (1) includes a cutting depth control ring (11) that is adjustable by a single hand, which forms an abutment surface (110) against the movement of one of the main body (5) and the sliding body (7) when the sliding body (7) reaches an adjusted cutting depth (D) corresponding to an adjustment position of the control ring (11).
REAMING ASSEMBLIES FOR PREPARATION OF SURGICAL SITES
This disclosure relates to reaming assemblies and methods for repairing bone defects. The reaming assemblies disclosed herein may be utilized for removing bone prior to positioning a graft and/or implant at a surgical site.
Pressure Loaded Drive Control for Bone Resection
A drill assembly including a cutting tool slidably movable along a longitudinal axis of the drill assembly and drivable to cut an object. In an active configuration, a pressure loaded drive control assembly transfers energy from a motor to the cutting tool to drive the cutting tool. In an inactive configuration, the pressure loaded drive control assembly prevents energy transfer from the motor to the cutting tool. A biasing member of the pressure loaded drive control assembly is configured to bias the pressure loaded drive control assembly in the inactive configuration. Depressing the cutting tool against the object moves the cutting tool along the longitudinal axis and moves the pressure loaded drive control assembly to the active configuration. The biasing member returns the pressure loaded drive control assembly to the inactive configuration when the cutting tool is no longer depressed against the object.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT HANDLE WITH IMPLANT SIZING FEATURE AND METHOD OF USING
A single-use handle is configured to attach to a working shaft that can support a sounder for measuring the medullary canal of a proximal radius, and a planarizer that is configured to planarize a proximal edge of the proximal radius after the proximal radius has been resected. The handle can further include a plurality of sizing cavities that are configured to receive the resected bone so as to determine the size of the resected bone. The handle can further include an ejector that is configured to decouple the planarizer from the working shaft.
Compression and fixation systems and processes for using the same
A staple apparatus can include a base member substantially coplanar to a first axis and a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The base member can include a trapezoidal shape including two substantially equal length sides and two unequal length sides, the two unequal length sides comprising a first side and a second side with the first side being shorter than the second side and the first side being parallel with the second side on the first axis. The base member can include an aperture passing through a center point of the base member, a first indentation in the first side, and a second indentation in the second side. The staple apparatus can include a first pair of legs protruding from the first side of the base member and a second pair of legs protruding from the second side of the base member.
SURGICAL CEMENT REMOVAL TOOL
A surgical cement removal tool including an elongated shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and a bowl-shaped scoop affixed to the distal end. Handle attachment structure can be provided adjacent the proximal end of the elongated shaft to permit releasable attachment of the surgical cement removal tool to a handle. Alternatively, the proximal end of the elongated shaft may be permanently affixed to a suitable handle.
