METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ROBOTIC-ASSISTED INSERTION OF MEDICAL FASTENERS
Methods and systems of placing a medical fastener at a predetermined depth in a bone are described. A surgical tool can include an attachment assembly configured to interchangeably engage a medical fastener and a cutting element or bone removal tool and a drive assembly coupled to the attachment assembly. The attachment assembly can be configured to automatically release the medical fastener in response to the drive assembly reaching its end or distal-most position to place the medical fastener at a predetermined depth within the bone.
Guided milling device for prosthetic surgery
Milling device for prosthetic surgery comprising a milling tool rotating about a milling axis, and a handling body. The handling body is provided with a drive rotating rod which develops along a longitudinal axis of linear rotation and is connected to the milling tool in order to make the milling tool rotate about the milling axis.
Cranial perforator
Cranial perforator (1) comprising a rotating element (10) capable of being fixed to a driving element, a first drill-head (20) and a second drill-head (30), clutch means (50) disposed on the first drill-head (20) and the rotating element (10) means of disengagement (60) from a engaged position of the first drill-head (20) to an idle position of the first drill-head (20) and a casing (40) fixed at one of its extremities to the rotating element (10) and partly encasing the second drill-head (30).
Slanted drive axis rotary surgical cutting tools and powered handpieces
A surgical cutting tool adapted to be rotatably driven by a motor. The surgical cutting tool includes an elongated shaft defining intermediate and coupling portions. A shape of the intermediate portion defines a primary central axis of the shaft. The coupling portion includes a tang having a tapered cylindrical shape that defines a drive axis. The drive axis is slanted with respect to the primary central axis. When coupled to the motor of a powered handpiece, the tang transmits an input or drive force from the motor to the intermediate portion as a torque about the primary central axis. In some embodiments, the drive axis extends through a centroid of first and second spaced apart cross-sectional planes of the tang, the first and second planes each being perpendicular to the primary central axis.
Surgical tool handle assembly
A handle assembly is disclosed for firmly holding a surgical tool. The handle assembly comprises a handle and a locking mechanism attached to the handle. The locking mechanism includes a locking ring, a collet, and a compressible locking pin engageable with the locking ring and collet. The locking ring is moveable between first and second positions relative to the handle. The first position is an unlocked position whereby the locking pin is in a decompressed state relative to the locking ring and the collet. In the first position, a surgical tool may be inserted and withdrawn from the collet of the locking mechanism. The second position is a locked position whereby the locking pin is in a compressed state relative to the locking ring and the collet. In the second position, a surgical tool is anchored in the collet of the locking mechanism.
Drill assembly for preparation of surgical sites
This disclosure relates to a drill assembly and method for preparing a surgical site. The drill assembly disclosed herein may be utilized for removing bone prior to positioning a graft and/or implant at a surgical site.
TOOL DRIVE ASSEMBLY
A tool drive assembly including a flexible drive shaft and a guide. The flexible drive shaft includes a proximal end structured to engage a driver for rotating the flexible drive shaft, and a distal end opposite the proximal end. The guide includes a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and a hub assembly at a distal end of the shaft. The hub assembly includes a housing, and a hub rotatably mounted within the housing. The hub includes an input connection structured to attach to the distal end of the flexible drive shaft, and an output connection structured to attach to a working tool. The tool drive assembly enables easy manipulation and driving of a working tool to achieve optimum positioning and effectiveness of the working tool.
RATCHETING HANDLE FOR MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
A ratcheting handle for a medical instrument is provided that includes a ratchet shifter, a tool connector, a ratchet coupler, and a rear power housing. The handle provides clockwise and counterclockwise ratcheting. In one aspect, the ratcheting handle may include a drive shaft removeably connected to a power tool or, alternatively, to a handle grip for manual manipulation.
TORQUE LIMITING HANDLE FOR MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
A torque limiting handle for a medical instrument is provided that includes a tool connector, a torque coupler, and a rear power housing. The handle limits the amount of torque in one direction while allowing for maximal torque in the opposite direction. In one aspect, the torque limiting handle may include a drive shaft removeably connected to a power tool or, alternatively, to a handle grip for manual manipulation.
HANDLE ATTACHMENT FOR FLUID DELIVERY NEEDLE AND METHOD OF USE THEREOF
A system including includes an intraosseous needle and a handle. The intraosseous needle includes a distal end configured for insertion into a bone and a proximal end configured to extend from the bone. The handle is configured to releasably engage the intraosseous needle. The handle includes a cylindrical body portion, a handle portion, and a channel. The cylindrical body portion includes a distal end configured to receive the proximal end of the intraosseous needle. The handle portion extends from the cylindrical body portion and has a bulb-like cross-sectional shape and opposing first and second substantially planar surfaces. The channel is configured to receive the proximal end of the intraosseous needle.
