ADJUSTABLE DRILL GUIDE AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Drill guide assemblies are adjustable for proper alignment of drill holes in the glenoid with the drill holes in the coracoid during a Latarjet procedure. The drill guide has an aimer arm extending from the body of the drill guide which has a fixed angle with respect to a drill sleeve inserted through the guide. The aimer arm can move up or down relative to the drill sleeve while maintaining the fixed angle relative to the drill sleeve by actuation of a translation member on the body.
SURGICAL SYSTEM WITH NAVIGATION
Systems, instruments, and methods are provided verifying the surgery is being performed in accordance with a surgical plan, wherein a surgical tool having a sensor outputs a data signal that enables the trajectory of the surgical tool to be displayed as an overlay on an image of an anatomical portion of a patient and a visual or audible signal that confirms the surgical tool is penetrating the anatomical portion in accordance with the surgical plan and/or that issues an alert indicating that the surgical tool is not being inserted into the anatomical portion according to the surgical plan.
Power tool for orthopedic surgery
A power tool for orthopedic surgery is provided, which can be coupled with an attachment having one or more first magnets mounted thereon, and include a power tool body including a power tool case, an attachment fastening portion connected to one end of the power tool body, a motor power transmitting portion protruding toward the attachment fastening portion and transmitting power to the attachment, a motor that drives the motor power transmitting portion, a first magnetic sensor portion including a first magnetic sensor capable of sensing a magnetic field strength or number of the one or more first magnets, a control portion that controls the motor to operate below a preset maximum rotational speed and maximum torque value according to the magnetic field strength or the number sensed by the first magnetic sensor, and a power supply that supplies power to the motor and the control portion.
Arthroscopic devices and methods
An arthroscopic system includes a re-useable, sterilizable handle integrated with a single umbilical cable or conduit. The single umbilical cable or conduit carries electrical power from a power and/or control console to the handle for operating both a motor drive unit within the handle and delivering the RF power to a disposable RF probe or cutter which may be detachably connected to the handle. The RF power delivered to the handle and on to the probe or cutter is typically bi-polar, where the handle includes first and second electrical bi-polar contacts that couple to corresponding bi-polar electrical contacts on a hub of the disposable RF probe or cutter is connected to the handle.
Feature-based surgical tool identification
A system (200) and method (600) for identifying cutting tools for use during a surgical procedure are described. For example, the system includes a cutting tool assembly (210) including a shaft (212) having a cutting element (214) and at least one identifying feature (216) that uniquely corresponds to the cutting element. The system further includes a drive assembly (220) including a reference pin (224), a motor (230) mechanically connected to the drive assembly, a control unit (240) configured to activate the motor to move the cutting tool assembly such that the reference pin engages with the at least one identifying feature, a sensor system (226) configured to determine positioning information related to the reference pin when the reference pin engages the at least one identifying feature, and a computing unit (250) configured to receive the positioning information from the sensor system and identify the cutting element based upon the position information.
Systems and methods for intramedullary preparations
A system for intramedullary preparations comprises a directional reamer including a flexible drive shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and a cutting head operably connected to the distal end of the flexible drive shaft. The system further includes a means of displacing the distal end of the flexible drive shaft and deflecting the cutting head to selectively shape a medullary canal in a bone. A follower sleeve is also include in the system and has a proximal end and a distal end in the form of a collar, with the follower sleeve being configured to accept the flexible drive shaft. The system additionally includes a reaming plunger that extends through the follower sleeve and is positioned adjacent to the flexible drive shaft such that the reaming plunger engages the collar of the follower sleeve to deflect the cutting head.
SACROPELVIC FUSION IMPLANT SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING A FOUNDATION FOR SPINOPELVIC FIXATION CONSTRUCTS IN ADULT SPINAL DEFORMITY SURGERY
A method of surgically treating a patient suffering from severe pain and disability of the low back and buttock by stabilizing the patient's spinal column to their pelvis with an implant system including surgical tools and an implant designed to prevent movement between the sacrum and the ilium while being able to attach to a spinal fusion rod which connect to pedicle screws implanted in the bones of the spine of the patient in order to offer lasting relief of the patient's symptoms. The system is designed to address complications in adult spinal deformity by optimizing spinopelvic fixation via-a-vis the unique biomechanics of the SI joint. The sacropelvic system is a surgical solution which provides an additively manufactured implant at the base of the spine employing an S2AI trajectory while utilizing assisting technologies including surgical navigation and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring.
TORQUE SENSOR WITH DECISION SUPPORT AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A surgical system includes a power tool that generates torque; a torque sensor for measuring a torque characteristic of the power tool; a user interface; at least one processor; and a memory. The memory stores instructions for execution by the at least one processor that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to: receive torque data from the torque sensor, the torque data corresponding to the measured torque characteristic; evaluate the torque data; and execute a predetermined action based on the evaluation.
Surgical Instrument Including Housing, A Cutting Accessory That Extends From The Housing And Actuators That Establish The Position Of The Cutting Accessory Relative To The Housing
A system including an instrument adapted to be manually supported and moved by a user. The instrument having a hand-held portion, a working portion movably coupled to the hand-held portion, and a plurality of actuators operatively coupled to the working portion for moving the working portion in a plurality of degrees of freedom relative to the hand-held portion. The instrument having a tracking device attached to the hand-held portion. The system including a navigation system for determining a position of the working portion relative to a target volume, and a control system in communication with the actuators to control the actuators to move the working portion relative to the hand-held portion such that the working portion autonomously follows a path defined in the control system to remove material of the target volume while the user maintains the hand-held portion in a gross position relative to the target volume.
