Surgical milling cutter
A surgical milling cutter designed to remove bone and/or cartilage tissue includes a shaft which extends along a longitudinal axis, can rotate about same, and can be releasably connected to a drive device and which has a proximal end that can be rotationally fixed to a drive unit and a distal end lying opposite the proximal end. A milling surface circumferentially surrounds the shaft (2) and extends on the distal end along the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The milling surface protrudes radially from the shaft and has a milling surface maximum radius. The surgical milling cutter prevents unwanted damage to delicate body structures via an atraumatic design having a protective assembly provided on the distal end. The protective assembly has a distal support surface and a protective assembly maximum radius in order to form a protective ring which surrounds the milling surface maximum radius in a circular manner.
Integrated intraoperative nerve monitoring system
A surgical drilling device (10) with integrated nerve monitoring capabilities comprising a bur (1) fitted with a drilling tip (12), and that is actuated in rotation by a rotating shaft (11) driven by a motor (5) wherein the rotating shaft (11) is electrically connected at a rear end (11B) thereof to a coupling device (21) of a nerve monitoring module (20) for the transmission of electrical nerve stimulation signals (S) through axial contacting.
Disposable burr attachment
A burr attachment designed for use with a curved burr attachment or other chuck attachments that includes a tube with a wire shaft supported therein and a coil spring surrounding said wire shaft and having each of the coils touch the outer periphery surface of the wire shaft and the inner peripheral surface of said tube to enhance cooling of said outer periphery of said tube from the heat generated by said wire shaft and attenuate vibrations while allowing said burr attachment to be bent without kinking.
Medical cutting device comprising a rotating knife
A medical cutting device for creating thin slices, has a device body, a cover, a working section which rigidly adjoins a connecting section, and a recess on the top side, which is enclosed by a delimiting ridge. The cover comprises a counterpart to the connecting section adjoined by a pressure section which is positioned opposite the recess at a distance d.sub.a, and therefore a guide slot extending between the working section and the pressure section remains free for a cutting blade. The distance of the guide slot to the bottom surface of the recess, which is defined by the distance d.sub.a, defines the thickness, which can be achieved, of a slice to be created. The cutting blade is disposed within the guide slot and is rigidly connected to a rotatable shaft extending perpendicularly to the plane of the guide slot and extends through a recess in the cover.
Drill bit, drill kit and method for drilling a cavity or a recess into a skull
A drill bit for drilling a cavity or a recess into a skull, wherein the cavity or the recess is configured to receive an implantable fixture screw unit of a hearing aid system, is disclosed. The drill bit includes a first part including a drill tip with a first drill diameter, wherein the drill tip comprises a tip angle of between 137 degrees to 143 degrees along a longitudinal axis of the drill bit and wherein the drill tip comprises a back rake angle of between ?1 degree and +1 degree, in particular a back rake angle of substantially 0 degrees, a second part including a plurality of flute blades with a second drill diameter, wherein the second drill diameter is greater that the first drill diameter, and a transition part which is arranged between the first part and the second part and along the longitudinal axis, wherein the transition part includes a body clearance.
ADVANCED COCHLEA ACCESS
A device, including a therapeutics substance delivery apparatus and an incisor, wherein the device is a minimally invasive inner ear therapeutic substance delivery device configured to reach the inner ear through a passage through the tympanic membrane to incise through tissue and deliver a therapeutic substance, and the incisor is at least one of a drill bit configured to drill through a promontory of a cochlea of a human, or a conduit configured to pierce a round window of the human with a fully intact round window niche.
SURGICAL DRILL WITH CURVED BURR ATTACHMENT AND METHOD
A surgical drilling instrument with a Curved Burr Attachment having an adapter removably coupled to a drill motor and a burr attachment coupled to said adapter. The burr attachment includes a tube with a wire shaft supported therein and a coil wire surrounding said wire shaft and having each of the coils touch the outer periphery surface of the wire shaft and the inner peripheral surface of said tube to enhance cooling of said outer periphery of said tube from the heat generated by said wire shaft and attenuate vibrations while allowing said burr attachment to be bent without kinking.
