The shaft is cannulated through and has a flexible portion along at least a portion of its length. The flexible portion includes a plurality of discrete, interlocking portions. An asymmetric tip at the distal end of the shaft has at least one flute positioned off-axis relative to a longitudinal axis of the flexible reamer.

Flexible ACL instrumentation, kit and method

In a first embodiment, the present invention includes an instrumentation system for preparing a bone for soft tissue repair, the instrumentation system including a flexible drill pin capable of bending along a curved path; an aimer capable of engaging the flexible pin to bend the flexible pin; and a flexible reamer having a flexible portion along at least a portion of its length, the flexible portion comprising a plurality of laser cuts. In an alternate embodiment, the present invention may also include a method for preparing a bone tunnel in a femur adjacent a knee joint, the method including introducing a flexible drill pin into the knee joint; guiding the flexible drill pin towards a surface of the femur with an instrument introduced into the knee joint; drilling the flexible drill pin into the femur; removing the instrument from the knee joint; introducing a cannulated flexible reamer into the knee joint by placing the flexible pin within the cannulation of the flexible reamer; and reaming the bone tunnel in the femur along the path of the flexible pin.

The invention concerns a perfected device for the transosseous insertion of suture threads. This device comprises a main body (1) supporting a protruding cannula (3) provided with an active end (30); the device comprises a flexible threadlike element (4), on which there are fashioned a sharp tip (40) and an opening (41) that serves for the threading of at least one suture thread (5), said element (4) being housed in a coaxially sliding manner inside said cannula (3) and, on command, exiting from the active end (30) of the cannula, assuming a curved position; the device comprises first means for producing the coaxial movement of the threadlike element (4) in the two directions with respect to the cannula (3) and second means for producing a coaxial movement of the threadlike element in the exiting direction from the cannula (3); for a short tract, the movement produced by the second means is disengaged from the advancement of the threadlike element produced by the first means.

Device and method for treating osteonecrosis

The present invention includes a method and devices for treating osteonecrosis in, e.g., children, adolescents, and adults comprising: identifying a subject in need of treatment for osteonecrosis; drilling two or more holes into a bone in need of treatment for osteonecrosis; inserting two or more needles or cannulas into the holes in the bone; washing an interior of the bone with a washing fluid introduced through one or more of the needles or cannulas inserted into the bone; and after washing the interior of the bone introducing one or more bone growth promoting materials or cells into the bone.

Minimally invasive auxiliary tool for knee surgery

Various implementations described herein relate to a minimally invasive auxiliary tool for knee surgery. The tool comprises a handle in proximal position, a shaft defining an axis, and a shaped tip in distal position. In the tool: the handle, the shaft, and the shaped tip define a channel that connects the proximal end with the distal end of the tool; and the perimeter of the shaped tip comprises a plurality of sectors, wherein each sector is defined by a respective circular arc centred on the axis and wherein the circular arcs that define the various sectors have respective radii that are different the one from the others. Various implementations also include a kit comprising a tool and a bone reamer.
