TARGETING GUIDE AND METHOD FOR AN IMPLANT
A system comprises a first implant including first and second screw receiving holes having respective first and second longitudinal axes. A second implant includes third and fourth screw receiving holes having respective third and fourth longitudinal axes. First and second drill guides have respective fifth and sixth longitudinal axes. A targeting guide is provided for aligning the first and second drill guides with each of the first and second implants simultaneously, so that the first, third and fifth longitudinal axes lie along a same line as each other, and the second, fourth and sixth longitudinal axes lie along a same line as each other.
FLEXIBLE GUIDE FOR APPLICATION OF BONE PLATES
Embodiments herein employ a flexible orthopedic alignment guide for surgical implantation of flexible bone plates. Specifically, the alignment guide is designed to be used in conjunction with flexible bone plates whereby flexible sections of the alignment guide aid in alignment of drill bits and fasteners with the fastener holes of the bone plate. The flexible guide is designed to flex in a similar manner to the bone plate, thus maintaining positive engagement without compromising hole alignment.
Intramedullary fixation assembly
Intramedullary fixation assemblies (4, 8) and intramedullary fixation devices (1, 24) can be used in orthopaedic surgery for the fixation of bone fractures. Also disclosed is an insertion device (30) for inserting an intramedullary fixation device, and a method of fixing a bone fracture. The fixation devices are preferably for addressing fractures of the distal radius, and are preferably styloid nails. The styloid nails preferably have a head portion that can accept up to three bone screws; one of the bone screws is designed to extend across a fracture line between a proximal and a distal bone fragment while the other bone screws are designed to be retained in the distal bone fragment.
Positioning-device module for releasable connection to a positioning device, positioning device and set
The present invention relates to a positioning device module for its releasable connection to a positioning device, wherein the positioning device module is prepared and designed for positioning and/or fixing an intramedullary nail in a long bone, for fixing an osteosynthesis plate on a long bone and/or for fixing a prosthesis in a long bone. The positioning device module comprises a targeting device for receiving an interlocking device or an instrument for acting on the interlocking device, a receiving section for receiving the targeting device and optionally a joint or a deformable section for connecting the positioning device module, to the positioning device, Wherein the joint or the deformable section comprises at least one rotary axis. The present invention further relates to a set, comprising a positioning device module according to the present invention and an extension device for connecting the positioning device module to a positioning device.
Systems and methods for intramedullary nail implantation
Intramedullary nails, systems, and methods. The intramedullary nail may include a generally elongate body extending from a first, distal end to a second, proximal end. The distal end may include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the distal end intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the distal end of the nail. The proximal end may also include one or more openings configured to receive one or more bone anchors that extend transversely through the proximal end of the intramedullary nail, and thereby configured to secure the proximal end of the nail.
Proximal humeral stabilization system
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially proximal humeral stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.

In some embodiments, the proximal opening may contain one or more relief cuts.
DETERMINING RELATIVE 3D POSITIONS AND ORIENTATIONS BETWEEN OBJECTS IN 2D MEDICAL IMAGES
Systems and methods are provided for processing X-ray images, wherein the methods are implemented as a software program product executable on a processing unit of the systems. Generally, an X-ray image is received by the system, the X-ray image being a projection image of a first object and a second object. The first and second objects are classified, and a respective 3D model of the objects is received. At the first object, a geometrical aspect like an axis or a line is determined, and at the second object, another geometrical aspect like a point is determined. Finally, a spatial relation between the first object and the second object is determined based on a 3D model of the first object, a 3D model of the second object, and the information that the point of the second object is located on the geometrical aspect of the first object.
BONE DISPLACEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A bone displacement system includes a body having a first arm and a second arm. The first arm is coupled to a first bone contacting leg configured to be connected to a first bone portion. The second arm is coupled to a second bone contacting leg configured to be connected to a second bone portion. A force application fixture is coupled to the first arm and the first bone contacting leg and configured to apply a force between the first arm and the first bone contacting leg.
Minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion
This disclosure presents a MITLIF procedure. The procedure uses a single incision on one side and pedicle screws are placed on that side and through the same incision a facet screw is placed on the opposite side using a series of jigs, and, for example, the hole cutter, drill, guide shaft and screw driver described herein.
