An aiming device for targeted drilling of a hole into bone includes a slot hole extending through the aiming device, the slot hole being configured to receive a guide sleeve therein at different locations therein and at different angles each of which corresponds with one of the locations along a longitudinal extension of the slot hole. The aiming device can be positioned relative to a bone plate using a positioning device including a base having a guide hole extending therethrough from a first side of the base to a second side of the base. The guide hole is formed as an elongated hole and is configured to receive the guide sleeve therein at different angles relative to the positioning device.

INTERNAL FIBULA SLING

Syndesmotic fixation devices, systems, instruments, and methods thereof. An implant for stabilizing an ankle joint between a tibia and a fibula may include first and second anchors secured to the tibia and a suture configured to wrap around the fibula. The suture may be tensioned to provide a circumferential force around the fibula to stabilize the joint.

Bone plates having an adjustable joint, and methods of using the bone plates to fix bones.

BONE PLATES WITH DYNAMIC ELEMENTS AND SCREWS

A bone plate assembly may include a bone plate with an obverse side, a reverse side, a fastener hole formed through the bone plate from the obverse side to the reverse side, a first draw hole formed through the bone plate from the obverse side to the reverse side, with a wire engagement surface, a fastener insertable through the fastener hole and into tissue, and a first wire insertable into the first draw hole, with a distal end anchorable in the tissue and a proximal end with a retention portion that is retainable in the first draw hole. The wire engagement surface may be oriented obliquely relative to a pilot hole formed in the tissue to receive the wire such that motion of the first wire through the first draw hole exerts a compressive force against the tissue.

ORTHOPEDIC DRILL GUIDE SYSTEM WITH LATERAL EDGE GUIDANCE, AND METHOD OF SURGERY FOR USE THEREWITH
20220031339 · 2022-02-03 ·

The invention comprises a medical implant system with implant having a fastener hole for a fastener and further including a fusion screw, positioned to avoid interference with the implant fastener. The medical implant system also includes a guide that is mounted in the fastener hole and from an edge of the implant which provides for defined adjustability for angulation, and optionally depth, to allow for placement of the fusion screw so as to avoid impingement with the implant and the fasteners that secure it in place. The invention also relates to a method of surgery using the system.

Sleeve clamp
09724108 · 2017-08-08 · ·

A sleeve clamp has a body with a through bore for receiving a sleeve, and a clamping element. The clamping element includes a clamping edge and may be arranged at the body so as to be movable between two positions, i.e. a neutral position and a deflected position. In the neural position, the clamping edge protrudes laterally into a lumen which is occupied by the sleeve when the sleeve is received in the through bore. In the deflected position, the clamping element may be elastically deformed and the clamping edge does not protrude into the lumen which is occupied by the sleeve when the sleeve is received in the through bore.

Implant positioning devices and methods

An implant positioning device including a guide and holder for fasteners used in orthopaedic fixation for use in affixing a plate-like member to a bone or other part of a patient. The guide and holder includes a base adapted to align with the plate in a manner to orient fasteners with the plate for fixation. A plurality of fastener holders are on the base and adapted to releasably hold a fastener in a manner where the fastener is exposed at a proximal end for access by a fastener driver and aligned at a distal end with an aperture on the plate through which the fastener is to be driven.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LAPIDUS REPAIR OF BUNIONS

Systems, devices, and methods for performing Lapidus bunionectomy procedures are disclosed. An example method includes inserting a plurality of metatarsal pins into the first metatarsal at a first predetermined spacing relative to the first tarsometatarsal (TMT) joint, excising the first TMT joint by cutting the bases of the first metatarsal and the first cuneiform proximate the first TMT joint, inserting a plurality of cuneiform pins into the first cuneiform at a second predetermined spacing relative to the first TMT joint, compressing the first TMT joint using a compressor block such that a cut face of the first metatarsal contacts a cut face of the first cuneiform, and fixing the first TMT joint using a bone plate and a plurality of bone screws. At least one of the plurality of bone screws may be a cross screw extending at an angle of less than 90 degrees relative to the bone plate and may anchor the resected first TMT joint to the second metatarsal or the second cuneiform to prevent recurrence of the bunion.

Bone Plates Having Compression Holes, And Related Systems And Methods
20220265328 · 2022-08-25 ·

A bone fixation system includes a bone plate having an outer surface, an opposed bone-facing surface, and an interior surface that defines a hole extending from the outer surface to the bone-facing surface along a central hole axis. The interior surface further defines a compression surface. The system includes a bone fixation member having a shaft extending from a head along a central fixation member axis. The head has an exterior surface that defines a threaded head portion configured for variable angle locking with a complimentary variable angle plate locking structure. The compression surface and the threaded head portion are cooperatively configured to translate the bone plate in a direction substantially perpendicular to the central hole axis when the threaded head portion contacts the compression surface when the bone fixation member axis is offset from the central hole axis at an offset parameter as the head advances within the hole.

Orthopaedic plate
09770275 · 2017-09-26 · ·

An orthopedic device for repairing a portion of a body comprises an orthopedic plate and a tissue protector. The orthopedic plate is configured to attach to at least one bone. The tissue protector is securely attached to the orthopedic plate and configured to at least partially detach from the orthopedic plate after a force is applied to the tissue protector. The tissue protector includes a thinned region at a portion of the tissue protector proximate to the orthopedic plate. A method of repairing parts of a body with an orthopedic device having an orthopedic plate and a tissue protector securely attached to the orthopedic plate comprises placing the orthopedic plate on at least one bone; fastening a fastener into the tissue protector and then the orthopedic plate; and detaching the tissue protector from the orthopedic plate after the fastener is completely fastened into the tissue protector and the orthopedic plate.
