BONE FIXATION SYSTEM WITH OPPOSED MOUNTING PORTIONS
System, including methods, apparatus, and kits, for bone fixation using a fixation device including a mounting portion and a fastener that attaches to the mounting portion. In some embodiments, the fixation device may include first and second mounting portions configured to be disposed across a bone from each other and secured with a fastener that extends from one of the mounting portions, through the bone, and to the other mounting portion. The system also may include a tool to facilitate installation of the fixation device.
Targeting instruments, systems and methods of use
Instruments, implants, bone plates, systems and methods for correcting bone deformities and fractures in the lower extremity are disclosed. Specifically, targeting instruments, implants, bone plates, systems and methods used for correcting bone deformities and/or fractures in the foot are disclosed.
SHAPE MEMORY IMPLANTS AND METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR THE LOADING AND IMPLANTING THEREOF
An orthopedic fixation system includes an orthopedic implant and an implant retainer. The orthopedic implant transitions between a natural shape and an insertion shape whereby a transition of the orthopedic implant from the natural shape to the insertion shape stores deliverable energy and a transition of the orthopedic implant from the insertion shape to the natural shape delivers stored energy. The implant retainer is configured to engage the orthopedic implant and constrain the orthopedic implant in the insertion shape such that the implant grip prevents a transition of the orthopedic implant from the insertion shape to the natural shape.
Spinal Fixation System
A spinal fixation system includes an expandable disc replacement body and an adjustment mechanism. The expandable disc replacement body includes a first wall, a second wall, a hinge connecting the first wall and the second wall, and a first bone-screw receiving section at a proximal end of the first wall. The adjustment mechanism is positioned between the first wall and the second wall, and an angle between the first wall and the second wall can be varied by movement of the adjustment mechanism.
IMPLANT PACKAGING CARTRIDGE AND INSERTION TOOL
An implant insertion tool includes an outer shaft, an inner shaft received in the outer shaft, and two arms coupled to the outer shaft and the inner shaft. The inner shaft translates within the outer shaft and has angled ramps that slide within complementary angled ramps in the two arms. The arms engage an implant for insertion into a body. When the inner shaft translates along a longitudinal axis, it causes the angled ramps to slide against the complementary angled ramps in the arms such that the two arms move laterally relative to the longitudinal axis of the outer shaft to engage and disengage the implant.
BONE STABILIZATION SYSTEMS
An aiming guide system configured for connection to a bone plate including an aiming arm and a connection assembly. The aiming arm has a rigid body extending from a proximal end to a distal end with a plurality of aiming holes defined through the rigid body between the proximal end and the distal end thereof. The distal end defines an attachment slot through the body. The connection assembly is configured to engage an attachment screw hole of the bone plate and the attachment slot such that the aiming arm is fixed in position relative to the bone plate with each of the aiming holes aligned with a respective hole along the bone plate.
Method and system for minimally invasive bone extra-articular reconstruction
A method and system for performing corrective surgery for pediatric or adult acquired flatfoot deformity (“AAFD”), namely, minimally invasive bone extra-articular reconstruction. The method and system comprises attaching a cutting guide to the bone to be operated wherein the cutting guide comprises two or more diverging K-wire channels and a slit configured to guide a burr used by a surgeon to perform osteotomy through the slit. Through the use of the cutting guide, the surgical procedure is simpler and reproducible. Patients will experience a quicker recovery, less pain, less operating room time, less narcotic use, and a better cosmetic result from smaller incisions. The present invention may also be applicable to intra-articular applications.
PREDRILLING GUIDE FOR KNEE OSTEOTOMY FIXATION PLATE
A guide for guiding drill bits to form holes in a bone in a predetermined pattern for receiving fasteners to secure an implant to the bone is provided. The guide includes a guide body having a bone interface side opposite an operative side, the bone interface side having a bone contacting surface engageable with a surface of the bone. The guide also includes a plurality of drill guides extending from the operative side of the guide body for guiding corresponding drill bits, wherein the bone contacting surface of the guide body is configured to substantially conform to surface contours of the bone at a predetermined position on the bone. A method of designing the guide is also provided.
Combination intra-medullary and extra-medullary fracture stabilization with aligning arm
A device provides a variety of fracture fixation options should a fracture occur after total hip arthroplasty or total knee arthroplasty, and provides associated methods and apparatus for application of provided fixation. The ability to pre-engineer fracture fixation contingent solutions into femoral or tibial components provides for a distinct clinical advantage in the planning and execution for periprosthetic fracture fixation. Said methods and apparatus include targeting devices which allow for intimate association of fixed angle locking screws in pre-drilled holes in an existing prosthetic, femoral nail, or other components including additional fixation components. Such apparatus and methods further include the use of alignment devices and other components to allow for ease of repair of fractures utilizing the pre-engineered solutions.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BONE FIXATION ANCHOR, PLATE, AND SPACER DEVICES
Devices, systems, and methods of bone fixation. The bone fixation system includes a bone plate having an upper surface and a lower surface configured to be in contact with bone, the bone plate having a locking hole extending from the upper surface to the lower surface. The locking hole is configured to receive a locking fastener. The locking fastener has a threaded head portion configured to engage and lock to the bone plate.
