Vertebral joint implants and delivery tools

A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.

Decortication Instrumentation for Posterior Sacroiliac Joint Fusion

A drill-less method of stabilizing a sacroiliac joint using a multimodal abrading device to create a rich environment for bony fusion. The unique decortication instrument includes an integral slap hammer assembly joined with a rasp-box osteotome tooling head to simultaneously remove cartilage from the joint while preparing the sacrum and ilium down to bleeding bone. Subsequent to joint preparation, an implant with a large bone graft window may be implanted into the prepared SI joint through a specially designed access cannula.

CHEVRON OSTEOTOMY TOOLS AND METHODS

A targeting guide is disclosed includes a handle extending substantially along a longitudinal axis. The longitudinal handle defines one or more burr holes extending from a first side of the handle to a second side of the handle. A head is coupled to a distal end of the longitudinal handle. The head defines a plurality of guide holes sized and configured to receive a k-wire therethrough.

According to an aspect, a preoperative planning method for a high-tibial knee osteotomy procedure is provided. The method includes: a) constructing a 3D model of a patient's bones; b) analyzing the 3D model to select a desired correction angle to apply to the patient's tibia bone to adjust a mechanical axis thereof; c) determining surgical steps required to apply the desired correction angle to the patient's tibia bone; d) designing a patient-specific guide to guide generic surgical tools in performing the surgical steps, the patient-specific guide being designed to conform to the anatomy of the patient's bones based on the 3D model; and e) manufacturing the patient-specific guide designed in step d). A corresponding kit, system and computer readable medium for performing the method are also provided.

PATIENT SPECIFIC HUMERAL CUTTING GUIDES

Provided is a method of resecting a humerus, including positioning a multi-part guide on the humerus, where the multi-part guide includes a support portion and a positioning jig; advancing at least two mounting pins through the support portion along diverging paths; removing the positioning jig; and resecting the humerus with reference to a cutting surface of the support portion.

Facet joint implants and delivery tools

A spinal joint distraction system is disclosed and may include a driver assembly with a tubular shaft, a pair of implant holder arms, an implant distractor, an internal actuator, and a distractor knob, the system also including a delivery device with a tubular shaft, a receiving assembly, and a pair of forks, where the delivery device is adapted for slidable insertion of the driver assembly, the system also including an implant, a chisel, and an injector. Several embodiments of an implant are disclosed as well a method of placing an implant.

A reamer operably connected to a movable drive element by a translation assembly such that the movement of the movable drive element rotates the reamer. The reamer can be sized such that the reamer can be navigated through or around soft tissue to position the reamer adjacent the defect region and angled to align the reamer with a reamer axis perpendicular to the plane of the defect region. The translation assembly can be configured to translate rotation of the movable drive element to the reamer through an opening through or around the soft tissue. The translation assembly can permit axial reaming of the defect region when the perpendicular axis is obscured by soft tissue.

INSTRUMENTS FOR PREPARING BONE IMPLANTS

A system includes a cutting guide and a cutting template. The cutting guide has a body including a plurality of sides that together define a cavity that is accessible via an opening defined by a first side of the plurality of sides. A second side of the plurality of sides defines at least two elongate slots. The second side is disposed adjacent to the first side and at a distance from an opposed third side. Each of the at least two slots is in communication with the cavity and disposed at a different location along the second side. The cutting template has a body defining at least one elongate slot. The cutting template is configured to be engaged with the cutting guide such that the at least one elongate slot of the cutting template aligns with at least one of the at least two elongate slots of the cutting guide.

Spinal facet cage implant

Implementations described and claimed herein provide a spinal facet cage implant for implantation in a spinal facet joint. In one implementation, the implant includes a distal leading end, a proximal trailing end, a first face, and a second face. The distal leading end has a distal surface generally opposite a proximal surface of the proximal trailing end. The first face has a first surface that is generally parallel with a second surface of the second face. The first and second faces extend between the distal leading end and the proximal trailing end. The first and second surfaces having one or more textured features adapted to provide friction with the spinal facet joint. One or more windows are defined in the first and/or second surfaces, and one or more side windows are defined in the first and/or second side surfaces.
