20200337714 · 2020-10-29 ·

This invention relates to a patient specific guides for hip replacement for patients who going to hip replacement surgery. The guide works for correction of the acetabulum defects based on a finite element model, which detect the bone quality and guide the surgeons for the optimum screws trajectories. The guides surface reflect the acetabular morphology which provide a correct posting of the cup, especially for the complex case as bone lost, severs fractures and tumors. CT-scan images are using to construct the 3D model of the acetabulum bone, therefore a finite element and virtual surgery planning methods are applied to create the electronic file of the patient specific guide. In finial step the 3D printers are using to produce the patient specific guide.

Orthopedic instrumentation

An instrumentation system that includes a reamer sleeve having a reamer wall and a wedge body, the reamer wall being oriented about a central longitudinal axis. The reamer wall includes an inner passage that is sized to receive insertion of a reference instrument that is structured for placement in a canal in a bone. The inner passage can be centrally oriented about a longitudinal axis that is offset from at least the central longitudinal axis of the reamer wall. The wedge body can have a wedge surface that extends axially in a direction that is non-parallel and non-perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The apparatus also can include a cap having an opening that is sized to receive insertion of the wedge body. The cap can further include an inner wall having a tapered wall section that is oriented to matingly engage the wedge surface of the wedge body.

An apparatus for preparing a bone for receiving a prosthesis comprises a template that can secure to the bone, a revision alignment member for coupling to the template, an offset alignment bushing receivable by the template such that an intramedullary member seated in the first bone can extend through a passage defined by the offset alignment bushing, a first bone cutting bushing receivable by the template after removal of the offset alignment bushing and positioned to cut the bone, a second bone cutting bushing receivable by the template after removal of the offset alignment bushing and removal of the bone cutting bushing, said second bone cutting bushing having a rotational orientation corresponding to a rotational orientation of the offset alignment bushing such that the second bone cutting bushing is a guide for cutting the bone in preparation of the bone to receive the prosthesis with an offset adapter.

BONE RESECTION GUIDE AND METHOD

A bone resection guide for removal of a portion of a bone of a patient. The bone resection guide includes a resecting section and a drilling section. The resecting section has a bone-facing surface, an extension engaging surface, opposed to the bone-facing surface, and at least one resecting slot extending therethrough between the bone-facing surface and the extension engaging surface. The drilling section has a connecting surface, a tool engaging surface, opposed to the connecting surface, and a plurality of guiding bores extending therethrough from the tool engaging surface to the connecting surface. The drilling section is engageable with the resecting section with the connecting surface of the drilling section facing the extension engaging surface of the resecting section and the plurality of guiding bores being aligned with the at least one resecting slot when the drilling and resecting sections are engaged and secured together.

Depth measurement device and grinding device

A depth measurement device includes a guide, a sliding part, a central column and a limit assembly, wherein the guide has a tubular structure. The sliding part is slidably connected to the guide, has a sliding direction parallel to an axial direction of the guide, and is used for connecting a tracer. The central column penetrates through the tubular structure, is able to move in the axial direction and to rotate around an axis, has one tail end for connecting with a cutting tool and another tail end for connecting with a power input. The limit assembly is fixed to the central column, is located on a side of the sliding part adjacent to the other tail end of the central column, and is able to drive the sliding part to synchronously move when moving along with the central column. A grinding device includes the depth measurement device.

Guided osteotome

The invention provides an osteotome which includes a curved guide member extending distally from its medial side. This curved guide member interfaces with the medial curvature of the femoral canal. The guide member guides the osteotome using the internal bone geometry of the femoral canal instead of relying on external anatomical landmarks.

Distally expanding facet implant with integrated plate and delivery device

A distally expanding facet implant with integrated plate and delivery device for distracting a cervical intervertebral facet joint to treat symptoms of degenerative processes of the cervical spine, including widening the intervertebral space and foramina while maintaining or restoring natural lordosis and preventing kyphosis. The distally expanding facet implant with integrated plate and delivery device generally includes opposed plates having distal and proximal ends, a diverting member having a stationary component and a moveable component comprising a diverting nut with a substantially fusiform cross-section between the plates, and a driving member comprising an elongated screw rotationally coupled with the moveable component. Rotation of the screw causes an engagement surface of the diverting nut to slide against a complementary engagement surface of the stationary component. The dimension of the nut present between the distal ends of the plates increases as the surfaces slide against each other causing the distal ends to divert without diverting the proximal ends. Deployed within a facet joint, the implant produces distraction of the facet joint and widening of the intervertebral spacing and foramina while maintaining natural lordosis and preventing kyphosis.

Bone resection guide and method

A bone resection guide for the resection of a bone of a patient. The bone resection guide comprises a body and a resection alignment guide. The body extends between a tool engaging surface and a bone-facing surface superposable to the bone of the patient and is removably securable to the bone of the patient with the bone facing surface superposed thereto. The resection alignment guide defines at least one resection plane and extends along a resection path. The resection alignment guide comprises a plurality of guiding bores extending from the tool engaging surface into at least a section of the body, along the resection path. A method for performing a resection of a portion of a bone of a patient is also provided.
