PATIENT-SPECIFIC SHOULDER GUIDE
20220104837 · 2022-04-07 ·

An orthopedic device for a shoulder joint includes a patient-specific alignment guide. The alignment guide includes a cap having a three-dimensional engagement surface customized in a pre-operative plan by computer imaging to be complementary and closely mate and conform to a humeral head of a proximal humerus of a patient. The alignment guide includes a tubular element extending from the cap and defining a longitudinal guiding bore for guiding an alignment pin at a patient-specific position and orientation determined in the pre-operative plan, and an orientation feature on the cap. The orientation feature is designed to orient the cap relative to the humeral head when the orientation feature is aligned with a landmark of the proximal humerus.

METHOD FOR TREATING A SUPRACONDYLAR FRACTURE

The invention is directed to a surgical device which is externally used as aiming device that permits accurate placement of surgical wire to mend a supracondylar fracture. The device of the invention decreases operative time, risks of the re-dislocation through continuous manipulation, radiology exposure for both the patient and operation room staff, and to decreases anesthesia duration. It is also directed to surgical use of the device for repair of a supracondylar fracture and to methods for making it.

Proximal humeral stabilization systems and methods thereof

An intramedullary nail implant for positioning in a bone having a head and a shaft defining an intramedullary canal. The implant includes a distal portion having a shaft extending along a central axis and configured for positioning within the intramedullary canal. A proximal portion extends proximally from the distal portion. The proximal portion defines a contact surface which extends at least in part medially of the central axis such that it is configured to extend within a medial portion of the bone head. A method of implanting the nail is also provided.

Decortication Instrumentation for Posterior Sacroiliac Joint Fusion
20220071644 · 2022-03-10 · ·

A drill-less method of stabilizing a sacroiliac joint using a multimodal abrading device to create a rich environment for bony fusion. The unique decortication instrument includes an integral slap hammer assembly joined with a rasp-box osteotome tooling head to simultaneously remove cartilage from the joint while preparing the sacrum and ilium down to bleeding bone. Subsequent to joint preparation, an implant with a large bone graft window may be implanted into the prepared SI joint through a specially designed access cannula.

METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM FOR BONE FIXATION

The presently disclosed invention relates to devices and methods for conducting bone surgery on an animal using a bone surgery tool comprising a base, a fixed arm fixed to the base, the fixed arm including a shoulder and a jaw, a sliding arm releasably fixable to the base, the sliding arm including a head that receives an implant and a cartridge in a slot, the method comprising hooking the bone with the jaw, moving the head toward the jaw capturing the bone, accessing the bone with a drill through cartridge bores in the cartridge, and drilling holes, accessing the bone with a self-shearing screw attached to a screw driver through cartridge bores in the cartridge, and attaching the implant to the bone, and moving the head away from the jaw releasing the bone.

A System for Sacroiliac Joint Fusion
20230389974 · 2023-12-07 ·

A surgical system for preparing the sacroiliac (SI) joint for a fusion, comprising a sliding joint finder and a working cannula. The working cannula comprises a body having a central axis that runs the length of the body. The body of the working cannula comprises a distal end, a proximal end and a central cavity that is positioned along the central axis of the working cannula and has suitable dimensions for sliding the working cannula over the sliding joint finder and the working cannula further comprises two protrusions extending proximally. In addition, the two protrusions have uneven lengths such that when the working cannula is inserted, the longer of the two protrusions engages the SI joint at a superior end of the SI joint and the shorter of the two protrusions engages the SI joint at an inferior end of the SI joint.

Patient-specific shoulder guide

An orthopedic device for a shoulder joint includes a patient-specific alignment guide. The alignment guide includes a cap having a three-dimensional engagement surface customized in a pre-operative plan by computer imaging to be complementary and closely mate and conform to a humeral head of a proximal humerus of a patient. GRAFT PLACEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD

Embodiments of the invention include a system for coupling a graft to a bone. A graft preparation tool may be used to place one or more holes in a graft and an offset measurement tool may be used to determine the distance of the one or more holes from an edge of the graft to be aligned with a portion of the bone. One or more complementary holes may then be created in the bone and fasteners applied through the holes to couple the graft to the bone.

Ankle replacement system and method

A cutting guide and base are provided for use during a total ankle replacement surgical procedure. The cutting guide base includes a slot, a first set of holes and a second set of holes. The first set of holes are positioned along a first flange that extends away from the slot. The second set of holes are positioned along a second flange extending from the slot with a slit included along a wall defining the slot. A method of use of the cutting guide and base is also provided.

Bone implant for the reconstruction of an osseous defect and for guiding a marking and/or processing tool for transferring required osteotomy situations

The invention relates to a bone implant for attaching to on a surface of a bone, including a base body whose lower side and/or upper side correspond(s) substantially to a deformation-free bone outer contour, wherein the outer dimensions of the base body are chosen such that the base body covers a specifically introduced deformation region for obtaining autologous bone material completely, wherein in the base body at least one slot is provided which is dimensioned such that it guides a bone marking and/or bone processing tool inserted in the slot in use.
