Devices and methods for treating an artery

A method for treating tissue of at least one of an internal carotid artery, an ophthalmic artery, or an ostium between the internal carotid artery and the ophthalmic artery of a subject may include expanding a first expandable device of a first device in the internal carotid artery. The method also may include delivering a second device in the ophthalmic artery via the first device and expanding a second expandable device of the second device in the ophthalmic artery. Further, the method may include adjusting a radial position of the second expandable device relative to the first expandable device.

MEDICAL DEVICE HAVING ROTATING SHAFT WITH LUMEN AND SEALING STRUCTURE

Provided is a medical device capable of easily changing a position of the device inside a biological lumen and effectively removing a cut object. The medical device for removing the object in the biological lumen has a drive shaft, a cutting portion, a first housing that accommodates the drive shaft to be rotatable, a second housing that is rotatable with respect to the first housing, and a support portion that supports the first housing and the second housing. The second housing and the support portion relatively move along an axis to restrict relative rotation of the first housing and the second housing. The support portion supports the second housing to be rotatable around the axis, and restricts a relative movement and a relative inclination of the second housing and the support portion in a direction intersecting with the axis.

Endoscopic basket delivery catheter

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for merging an endoscopic basket delivery catheter onto a fixed guidewire. In one implementation, a catheter may include a sheath having a saddle secured to a distal portion thereof. The sheath may constrain an endoscopic tool such as a basket therein, while the saddle may receive a portion of a guidewire. The saddle may include a slit extending along its longitudinal length. The slit may be widened by a working member of an adapter to allow passage of a locked guidewire into the guidewire lumen of the saddle. The catheter may be merged onto the guidewire via the slit and delivered to the desired treatment device without unlocking of the guidewire. Advantageously, access to at least one desired treatment site may be maintained with the guidewire during merging of the catheter.

The hub support portion includes a rotation blocking portion that is engaged with the first engagement portion to block the hub portion from rotating with respect to the hub support portion, a movement blocking portion that is engaged with the second engagement portion to block movement of the hub portion with respect to the hub support portion in an axial direction, and a releasing portion that releases a state in which a rotation of the hub portion is blocked while maintaining a state in which movement of the hub portion is blocked.

An intravascular treatment device is presented having an expandable frame made up of circular struts, straight struts, and bent struts forming a frame with circumference that varies over the length of the frame. Radiopaque markers can be positioned on the bent struts to indicate outer circumferences of the frame along the length of the frame. The device can be a stent or a clot retriever. If the device is a clot retriever, the proximal end of the expandable frame can be attached to a guide wire and the distal end of the expandable frame can be free to slide over the guide wire when the frame moves from a collapsed state to an expanded state and vice versa.

The system can include an outer shaft having a lumen, sidewall, and a longitudinal window in the sidewall, an inner shaft disposed within the lumen, and an expandable member having a first end coupled to the outer shaft and a second end coupled to the inner shaft through the window. The expandable member can be positioned adjacent to a target region while in the collapsed configuration. The expandable member can be expanded to an expanded configuration by relative movement of the outer shaft and the inner shaft.

An intravascular cutting device described herein uses high-pressure water, saline, or other fluid to cut tissue and other materials including but not limited to calcified tissue, stents, stent grafts, and other devices. In some embodiments, the cutting device includes a working end that has a nozzle with a hole to allow the release of a high-pressure fluid jet. Opposite of the nozzle is a catch plate or deflector anvil that prevents the fluid jet from cutting healthy tissue. The device user will place the item to be cut between the nozzle and catch plate and then advance the device along the item to be cut as the fluid jet is activated, thus cutting the object as it advances.
