The present invention provides a catheter for treating occlusions in blood vessels. An exemplary catheter for treating occlusions in blood vessels comprises a tubular inner member including a base segment with a first lumen defining a fluid inlet port, and a second lumen defining a fluid outlet port. An extension segment is distal to the base segment. The extension segment has a reduced cross-section. An emitter assembly includes a first insulated wire extending through the second lumen and a second insulated wire, and a conductive sheath wrapped circumferentially around the first insulated wire, the second insulated wire, and the extension segment. A cap or balloon is sealably attached to the distal end of the catheter and surrounds the emitter assembly, said cap or balloon being fillable with conductive fluid.

STENT RETRIEVER WITH EMBOLIC PREVENTION DEVICE

The present invention pertains to a thrombectomy device comprising a cylindrical proximal portion, a dome-shaped distal portion, a transition portion, and a coil. The cylindrical proximal portion forms a stent frame having a first lattice network of a first plurality of interconnecting segments. The first plurality of interconnecting segments is configured to exert a first radial force against an inner wall of a blood vessel. The dome-shaped distal portion forms a protection cage having a second lattice network of a second plurality of interconnecting segments. The second plurality of interconnecting segments is configured to exert a second radial force against the inner wall of the blood vessel. The transition portion is arranged between the stent frame and the protection cage. The coil is formed at a distal end of the protection cage.

Systems and methods for removal of clot material from vessel lumens are disclosed. A medical device assembly can include a catheter having a lumen and a distal portion configured to be positioned at or adjacent a treatment site within a vessel. An expandable member has a first portion coupled to the distal portion of the catheter, and a second portion extending away from the catheter distal portion. An elongate shaft extends through the lumen of the catheter, and the second portion of the expandable member is releasably coupled to the shaft. When the shaft is slidably moved relative to the surrounding catheter, the second portion of the expandable member can be released from the shaft, and the shaft can be withdrawn or removed.

The invention belongs to the field of interventional medical instruments, and relates in particular to a thrombus removal device used for removing a thrombus in a blood vessel. The thrombus removal device includes an elongated delivery member and a plurality of thrombus removal members disposed on the elongated delivery member; the thrombus removal member has a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration formed from the compressed configuration by means of self-expansion; and at least one thrombus removal member among the plurality of thrombus removal members is rotatably connected to the elongated delivery member. By means of causing the thrombus removal member to have rotational degrees of freedom, the thrombus removal device provided by the present invention enables a thrombus to enter the thrombus removal member more easily by means of a thrombus entrance so that the thrombus removal member may fully contact the thrombus, thereby achieving effective capture of the thrombus.

Hydrodynamic vortex aspiration catheter

An actuated telescoping system for navigation within a vascular lumen and thrombectomy of a thrombus. The system includes a tubular catheter member having an open distal end defining a catheter lumen, a vacuum source, a rotational drive system, a flexible shaft having a channel coupled to the rotational drive system for rotational movement in response thereto, and an optional guidewire selectively inserted at least partially within the flexible shaft. The flexible shaft is at least partially disposed within the tubular catheter member configured for uncoupled rotational and translational motion therein and to optionally define a corkscrew motion in response to rotational driving force by the drive system that results in formation of hydrodynamic vortices within the catheter lumen. The telescoping system can be capable of reversibly transitioning between navigation and thrombectomy modes by differentially disposing and actuating the components and enable faster, more efficient and simpler removal of thromboembolic material.

Actuated expandable mouth thrombectomy catheter

A clot retrieval catheter can have an expansile distal tip for flow restriction/arrest and improved aspiration efficiency and a large, distal facing mouth into which clots or other obstructions can be retrieved. The tip can be formed from a distal ring of leaflets or hoops. One or more pull cables can be retracted to actuate and radially expand the expansile distal tip. The clot retrieval catheter can have a catheter shaft with flexibility-adding features proximal of the tip. The catheter shaft can be a multi-lumen configuration with a large catheter lumen for passing auxiliary devices and directing aspiration and one or more guide lumens which can route the pull cables to the leaflets or hoops of the expansile tip. A flexible, low-modulus membrane can be disposed around at least a portion of the expansile tip and catheter shaft.

Medical device

A medical device for removing an object in a body lumen includes a catheter and a drive device. The drive device includes a hub support portion with which a hub portion of the catheter is interlocked. The hub portion has first and second engagement portions interlocked with the hub support portion. The hub support portion includes a rotation blocking portion that is engaged with the first engagement portion to block the hub portion from rotating with respect to the hub support portion, a movement blocking portion that is engaged with the second engagement portion to block movement of the hub portion with respect to the hub support portion in an axial direction, and a releasing portion that releases a state in which a rotation of the hub portion is blocked while maintaining a state in which movement of the hub portion is blocked.
