DILATION AND STONE RETRIEVAL CATHETER
A medical device for capturing renal calculi includes an inflatable balloon, an elongated shaft extending through an orifiace defined by the balloon and attached thereto, a basket apparatus deployable via a distal end of the shaft, and a sheath. The basket includes two or more wire loops that capture calculi and have a collapsed configuration when the basket is positioned within the distal end of the shaft. The medical device can be used by dilating a percutaneous tract by inflating the balloon. A sheath can be advanced over the balloon to create an access route. The basket can be utilized without the removal of the balloon. The balloon can be deflated to allow the shaft and basket to be manipulated in the access route. The shaft and basket can be retracted from the access route to retrieve renal calculi.
CATHETER WITH REMOVABLE VISION PROBE
A medical system includes a catheter and a vision probe that can be removed from the catheter and replaced with a medical probe. The vision probe can thus be used to steer and pose the catheter, and then be removed and replaced with the medical probe when a medical task such as a lung biopsy is performed. A sensor system in the catheter at least partly measures a pose of the catheter, and control logic controls actuation of the catheter to maintain the desired working configuration when the medical probe is used. A small diameter catheter can thus provide vision and biopsy functionality.

The benign prostatic hyperplasia treatment device includes: an anchor assembly including a pair of first and second anchors arranged at upper and lower portions of the outer surface of the prostate gland, and a ligature connecting the first and second anchors with each other so that the first and second anchors continuously compress the prostatic tissues to secure the opening of the prostatic urethra; a sheath inserted into the urethra and having a needle, which guides the anchor assembly to be deployed at the prostate gland; a needle manipulation part for manipulating movement of the needle so that the needle is deployed through an end portion of the sheath.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR TREATMENT OF ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE
A system of devices for treating an artery includes an arterial access sheath adapted to introduce an interventional catheter into an artery and an elongated dilator positionable within the internal lumen of the sheath body. The system also includes a catheter formed of an elongated catheter body sized and shaped to be introduced via a carotid artery access site into a common carotid artery through the internal lumen of the arterial access sheath. The catheter has an overall length and a distal most section length such that the distal most section can be positioned in an intracranial artery and at least a portion of the proximal most section is positioned in the common carotid artery during use.
Apparatus for Attachment of a Light Receiving Device to a Surgical Instrument
An apparatus (10) serves for attachment of a light receiving device (24) for light analysis on an instrument (11) or an instrument component (12) during surgery by the surgery user of a surgical instrument (11) or their assistant. The apparatus (10) is preferably configured to releasably attach the light receiving device (24) on the instrument (11) or the instrument component (12). The apparatus (10) can comprise a light receiving device (24) and an electrode (15) fixed relative thereto. The electrode (15) can alternatively also be part of the instrument (11). The apparatus (10) can be releasably attachable to the instrument (11) or the instrument component (12) and can form an adapter for attachment of the light receiving device (24) on the instrument (11) or the instrument component (12) or can also be configured as part of the instrument (10).
MEDICAL DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for breaking a kidney stone(s) into smaller particles, fragments, and/or stone dust; and removing the same from a patient. The medical device may include a tube having a distal end, a proximal end, a port located proximal of the distal end, and a length of the tube extending between the proximal end and the distal end. A first portion of the tube may be proximal of the port and have a first cross-sectional area, while a second portion of the tube may be distal of the port and have a second cross-sectional area smaller than the first cross-sectional area. A first lumen may extend from the proximal end to the distal end of the tube. A second lumen may in communication with the port to fluidly connect the proximal end of the tube with the port.
Methods and apparatus for true lumen re-entry
A catheter for facilitating re-entry of a re-entry wire into a true lumen or into any desired region of a blood vessel may have an elongate shaft with a first lumen. A distal port and a first proximal port are fluidly coupled with the first lumen. A wire re-entry port is adjacent the distal end of the elongate shaft. The wire re-entry port has a re-entry axis. An ultrasound transducer on the catheter is configured to produce an image the blood vessel, and has a central axis that allows visualization of the re-entry wire as it exits the re-entry port and re-enters the true lumen. This allows the operator to ensure that the re-entry wire re-enters the true lumen in a desired location and does not damage the vessel.
MYRINGOTOMY TOOL WITH MULTIPLE TOOL HEADS
A myringotomy device includes a housing; an elongated tube extending from the housing; and a retractable cutting tool extendable through the elongated tube, the cutting tool comprising a blade. The cutting tool is configured such that when advanced, the blade of the cutting tool extends beyond a distal end of the elongated tube. The cutting tool is also configured such that when retracted, the blade is retracted into the elongated tube and a fluid conduit is created from the distal end of the elongated tube to the housing.
