Surgical instrument
A surgical instrument includes a housing and an elongated shaft having a distal portion and a proximal portion coupled to the housing. The elongated shaft defines a longitudinal axis and a mandrel at the proximal portion. An inner shaft member extends at least partially through the elongated shaft. An actuating mechanism is operably coupled to the mandrel and is configured to selectively cause movement of the elongated shaft in a longitudinal direction with respect to the inner shaft member. The surgical also includes an end effector that is adapted for treating tissue and includes an upper jaw member pivotally coupled to a distal portion of the inner shaft member about a pivot axis and a lower jaw member supported by the distal portion of the elongated shaft. Longitudinal movement of the elongated shaft is configured to pivot the upper jaw member relative to the lower jaw member.
Forceps actuation systems
Forceps including a housing, a first body, a second body and a drive shaft. The first body has a passageway extending therethrough. The drive shaft extending through the passageway and connected to the first body such that the first body and the drive shaft are slidable with respect to the housing to drive jaws located at a distal portion of the drive shaft between an open position and a closed position. The second body having a second passageway. The drive shaft extending through the second passageway such that the second body is guided by the drive shaft and is slidable relative to the first body and the drive shaft to displace a blade shaft between a retracted position and an extended position.
Selectively bendable remote gripping tool
A selectively bendable remote access gripping tool, includes a jaw portion having a pair of jaws or nets movable relative to each other between clamped and opened positions thereof, a handle portion spaced apart from the jaw portion by a bendable central portion that has a hollow, corrugated member that is bendable, and a cord extending through the hollow bendable member that connects the jaw portion and the handle portion.
Sterile field interactive control displays
An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.
Surgical instrument including an electronic firing lockout
A surgical instrument comprising a housing, a shaft, a loading unit, a firing member configured to perform a firing stroke, a motor, a battery, a firing trigger, a control system, an electronic lockout, and a firing trigger lockout is disclosed. The electronic lockout is configured to prevent the firing member from performing the firing stroke when the loadinq unit is not attached to the shaft. The electronic lockout is further configured to prevent the firing member from performing the firing stroke when the loading unit is attached to the shaft and the loading unit has been at least partially fired. The firing trigger lockout is in a locked position when the loading unit is not attached to the elongate shaft. The firing trigger lockout is in the locked position when the loading unit is attached to the elongate shaft and the loading unit has been at least partially fired.
FORCEPS WITH TWO-PART DRIVE BAR
A forceps having a first jaw and a second jaw, where at least one of the first and second jaws is capable of moving between an open position and a closed positions. The forceps including an inner shaft located within an outer shaft and extending along the longitudinal axis, and a drive bar coupled to and extending distally from the inner shaft. The drive bar including a pair of drive bar struts extending from a distal portion of the inner shaft and positioned laterally inward of at least one of first and second set of flanges of the first and second jaws. A drive pin is securable to the pair of drive bar struts and the drive bar is translatable within the outer shaft to translate the drive pin to move the first jaw and/or the second jaw between open and closed positions.
Force transmitting mechanism and instrument
A force transmitting mechanism includes: a force adjusting portion that is disposed between a joint portion of an instrument and a force generating portion and that receives force from the force generating portion; and a driving member that passes through the joint portion, that connects the end effector and the force adjusting portion, and that transmits the force applied from the force adjusting portions to the end effector, wherein, by means of displacement of the driving member associated with flexing or bending of the joint portion, the force adjusting portion increases the force transmission efficiency so that an amount of increase in the force transmission efficiency increases with an increase in a displacement amount of the driving member.
Electrocautery instrument for endoscopic therapy
An electrocautery instrument for endoscopic therapy includes an operation handle and a rotatable positioning means. The operation handle includes a cylindrical member, a fastening element, and a fixing protruding element. The fastening element and the fixing protruding element are disposed on the cylindrical member which further has a first inner hole. The rotatable positioning means encloses the cylindrical member and includes a rotatable element, a second inner hole, a clasping member, and securing units. The clasping member is disposed on a side wall of the second inner hole and engages with the fastening element. The rotatable element is provided for rotating the rotatable positioning means, so that the fixing protruding element can be positioned on any corresponding securing unit. Therefore, an electrocautery rod can be connectedly moved with the operation handle, thereby reducing components of the electrocautery instrument, and thus the cost is reduced greatly.
EXTRACTION DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING A FOREIGN BODY FROM A PATIENT
The present invention relates to an extraction device (10) for extracting foreign bodies from a patient, comprising a flexible extractor (11), a stiffening device (12) and connection means (13) for connecting the flexible extractor (11) to said stiffening device (12).
HOLLOW GRASPERS
A surgical grasper includes jaws that are transitionable between spaced apart and approximated configurations. In particular, the surgical grasper defines an unobstructed lumen for passage of a surgical instrument therethrough.
