Cannula for a surgical instrument
11051848 · 2021-07-06 · ·

This disclosure relates to a cannula for a surgical instrument used for cutting selected tissue in a body cavity while under visual inspection. A kit containing the cannula and methods for performing surgical procedures using the cannula are also described.

Tissue release instrument and methods of use

A device for releasing soft tissue includes a distractor and blade assembly. The distractor may include a guide channel positioned along an edge of the distractor and the blade assembly fits into the guide channel and is configured to slide within the channel of the distractor.

Tray for a soft tissue cutting device and methods of use

A tray for a soft tissue cutting device includes a housing slot for removably housing the soft tissue cutting device prior to use and a priming slot for receiving the soft tissue cutting device during a priming procedure. The priming slot allows connection of the soft tissue cutting device to a priming syringe for priming the soft tissue cutting device. The tray also includes a safety slot for testing whether the soft tissue cutting device is primed for use and a sterile cover connectable to the tray. The sterile cover substantially encloses the tray when it is connected thereto.

An endoscopic surgical device for an endoscopic surgical procedure includes a slotted clear cannula with a tubular body having a distal end, a proximate end and a slot extending longitudinally therethrough. A pair of wings near the proximal end of the slotted clear cannula extend outward from the tubular body. The tubular body is made from a transparent material. The slotted clear cannula may be part of an endoscopic surgical blade assembly in which the cannula is attached to a housing enclosing a blade slidably oriented in the cannula. A kit comprising the endoscopic surgical device and a method for a performing a uniportal endoscopic surgical procedure using the endoscopic surgical device are also described.

Surgical device for use in endoscopic carpal tunnel release (ECTR), endoscopic cubital tunnel release (ECuTR), and endoscopic plantar fasciitis release (EPFR)

A disposable, sterile guide constructed of medically-acceptable plastic used for compartmentalizing and therefore protecting the ligament or fascia during three different orthopedic surgical procedures: ECTR, ECuTR, and EPFR. This device reduces the risk of damage to any other part of the surrounding anatomy. The device is disposable and packaged so as to be sterile and therefore readily usable by the surgeon means that it can reduce the risk of infection and is a less expensive alternative to traditional non-disposable, metal instruments that must be sterilized prior to each procedure.

SUBCUTANEOUS CUTTING DEVICE

The present disclosure describes a subcutaneous cutting device for insertion into tissues and cutting of targeted tissues. The cutting device includes a handle, a cannula extending distally from the handle to a sharpened distal tip, and an adjustable blade disposed within a blade-holding section of the cannula. The blade is selectively adjustable between a retracted position within the cannula and an open position with the blade tip lifted up and angled away from the cannula. When the blade is in the open position, the blade tip points proximally toward the handle.

A device includes a handle, an apparatus for probing and cutting, and an adaptor. The handle includes one or more triggers. The apparatus for probing and cutting is connectable to the handle and includes an elongated member, a probe, and a blade. The probe and the blade are selectively deployable from the elongate member via activation of the one or more triggers on the handle. The adaptor is configured to selectively connect the apparatus to the handle in a predetermined orientation.

Modified surgical scalpel with polyurethane mated sheath: for ultrasound assisted carpal tunnel surgeries

Devices, apparatus, and methods of using a modified scalpel tool that is removable from a polyurethane mated sheath for use in carpal tunnel surgeries and the like. The modified scalpel tool has an elongated stem with a flat blade at the distal end and an elongated handle at the proximal end. The sheath has a cavity for allowing the elongated blade to be inserted therein, two slots to receive two metal studs and a handle at its proximal end. The flat blade tool when combined (mated) with the polyurethane sheath produces a stable configuration that allows motion in only one rotational plane and with an arc of 90-95 degrees.

DISSECTING DEVICE

In embodiments herein, a non-invasive surgical trigger finger repair device is provided. The device includes a proximal end including a component for coupling to a filament, a blunted distal end, an elongated straight section extending from the distal end toward the proximal end, and a curvilinear section between the elongated straight section and the proximal end, wherein manipulation of the device and targeting of the distal end occurs by movement of the curvilinear section and/or the proximal end.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR ENDOSCOPIC NERVE RELEASE

A system and method for nerve decompression comprise a knife unit having a parallel upper limb and lower limb terminating proximally at the cap of the tubular sheath and a triangular shaped surgical cutting blade disposed vertically in between the upper limb and the lower limb. Upper limb and lower limb extend distally beyond the cutting blade and have open slots to facilitate proper positioning and engaging of the tissue while allowing visualization of less routing structure. The knife receives the probe head of an endoscope just behind cutting blade for proper visualization and illumination. The guiding system comprises a handle unit and a pair of parallel guides with long open slots that act as a cannula of adjustable diameter. The open slots on parallel guides facilitate 360 degree visualization of the surroundings and also prevent derailing of endoscopic knife unit while passing through it.
