Device for shearing tissue
A device for shearing tissue in a human or animal body may include a first member made of a first material and a second member made of a second material. A thread is connected to the first member and to the second member, and the first and second materials show magnetic attraction between one another. A means is provided for pulling the thread between the first and second members.
Incising implant for the prostatic urethra
An incising implant for creating incisions in the prostatic urethra of a subject, the implant including at least two closed-shaped wires, each of the wires having a proximal section, a distal section and two longitudinal sections extending between the proximal section and the distal section, each of the closed-shaped wires being elastic thereby being compressible into a compressed configuration, each of the longitudinal sections of each of the wires being adjoined with another longitudinal section of another one of the wires.
PASSING TENSION MEMBER AROUND TISSUE MASS
Disclosed are apparatus and method for forming passage extending along a plane crossing an organ's volumetric region from an entry point to an opposing exit point at a surface of the organ, and for passing a tension member around the volumetric region by pulling the tension member from the exit point to the entry point through the passage. The apparatus can include a rigid outer tube with a tip for penetrating the organ and reach a penetration depth; an inner needle with elastic body configured to pass straightened through outer tube lumen and to partially protrude and voluntarily flex to a curved form greater than the diameter of the volumetric region; and a tension member passer with a pulling portion for engaging with portion of tension member and for pulling the tension member when withdrawn.
Methods of managing neurovascular obstructions
Systems, methods, and devices for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke that provide immediate blood flow restoration to a vessel occluded by a clot and, after reestablishing blood flow, address the clot itself Immediate blood flow restoration advantageously can facilitate natural lysis of the clot and also can reduce or obviate the concern for distal embolization due to fragmentation of the clot. Several embodiments of the invention provide for progressive, or modular, treatment based upon the nature of the clot. For example, the progressive treatment can include immediate restoration of blood flow, in-situ clot management, and/or clot removal depending on the particular circumstances of the treatment. The in-situ clot management can include, for example, lysis, maceration, and/or removal.
RADIAL CUTTER IMPLANT
A method for expanding a constricted location of a urethra of a subject, the method including inserting a urethral implant, and an implant sheath that covers the urethral implant, through the urethra for implanting the urethral implant in the constricted location, the urethral implant being in a compressed configuration within the implant sheath, releasing the urethral implant from the implant sheath until the urethral implant exits from the implant sheath, thereby expanding the urethral implant from the compressed configuration to an expanded configuration, applying, by the urethral implant, continuous pressure on tissues of the urethra at the constricted location, and retracting the implant sheath from the urethra.
METHOD FOR SHEARING TISSUE
A method is described for shearing a tissue wall between a first cavity and an adjacent second cavity in a human or animal body. The tissue wall has a periphery forming an edge of an opening between the first cavity and the second cavity. A first member is placed into the first cavity, such that the first member is adjacent the wall. A second member is placed in the second cavity, proximate the first member. The first and second members have materials which magnetically attract one another. The first member and the second member are placed such that there is magnetic attraction between the first member and the second member through the wall and thereby compress an overlapping portion of the wall to create pressure necrosis. The first member and the second member are connected by a thread, wherein the thread extends over the edge of the opening.
INCISING IMPLANT FOR THE PROSTATIC URETHRA
An implant for the prostatic urethra of a subject, the implant including a first frame being closed-shaped, the first frame includes two longitudinal sections; a second frame being closed-shaped, the second frame includes two longitudinal sections, wherein a mid-portion of one of the longitudinal sections of the first frame is connected in at least one of: directly and indirectly, to a mid-portion of one of the longitudinal sections of the second frame; and a third frame being distinct from the first frame and the second frame, the third frame includes a first arm section joined to the first frame, and a second arm section joined to the second frame, the first arm section and the second arm section extend such to be joined together in an apex portion.
URETHRAL IMPLANT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
A urethral implant delivery system includes an overtube, a camera, a urethral implant and a guidewire. The overtube includes a first elongated passage, a second elongated passage and a handle connector. The camera is located at the distal end of the first elongated passage. The urethral implant is located within the second elongated passage. The guidewire is coupled with the urethral implant and extends toward the proximal end of the overtube. The handle connector is configured to be coupled with a handle.
DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR THE TREATMENT OF BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA AND RELATED LOWER URINARY TRACT SYMPTOMS
Devices and systems are disclosed for managing and/or treating body tissues obstructing a hollow body lumen, including the prostatic lobe tissues obstructing the urethra, for example conditions including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), benign prostatic obstruction (BPO) and associated lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). An implant is maintained in a constrained configuration within a distal portion of an elongated sheath so that is may be deployed by driving the implant with a pusher coaxially disposed within the sheath. An implant engaging element helps maintain control of the implant during deployment.
