Apparatus for treating a portion of a reproductive system and related methods of use
A medical device for performing a surgical procedure may include an elongate member having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The medical device may also include a handle connected to the proximal end of the elongate member, an end effector assembly connected to the distal end of the elongate member, and a cutting device configured to extend from the end effector assembly, wherein the cutting device has a retracted configuration in which the cutting device is withdrawn into the end effector assembly and a deployed configuration in which the cutting device extends from the end effector assembly.
Vaginal surgical apparatus
This invention relates generally to a medical device, and more specifically, to a vaginal surgical apparatus. In one embodiment, a vaginal device includes, but is not limited to, a shaft, the shaft including at least a space to at least partially accommodate a cervix; and a slot to secure a tenaculum; and a stopper that is positionably adjustable along at least a portion of a length of the shaft.
Combined osmotic and hydrogel cervical dilators and method of making same
A cervical dilator including a stem comprising a partly or fully dehydrated hydrogel comprising a water-insoluble synthetic hydrophilic polymer capable of radial expansion due to absorption of water from a bodily fluid. The cervical dilator softens and ripens the cervical tissue and expands the cervical canal by a combined action of radial hydrogel stem expansion and osmotic withdrawal of water from the tissue. The osmotic withdrawal is caused by at least one osmotically active compound, such as a water-soluble salt, a polyelectrolyte, or a mixture thereof, wherein the at least one osmotically active compound is dispersed in the hydrogel. The cervical dilator may also include a non-toxic plasticizer of the hydrogel, such as water.
Intra-Vaginal Devices and Methods for Treating Fecal Incontinence
Devices and methods for intra-vaginal bowel control.
DEVICE FOR REDUCTION OR PREVENTION OF PRETERM LABOR
A medical device for supporting a patient's cervix, such as in the event of an insufficient cervix or uterine prolapse. The device includes a main body configured for placement in a vagina, a proximal opening at an upper portion of the body, and a distal opening at a lower portion of the body. A portion of the body engages and anchors the device along the vaginal wall proximate the cervical opening. An expandable cuff at the proximal opening is expandable to circumscribe the exterior of the cervix. The cuff is expandable inward toward the cervix, or downward away from the uterus, or both inward and downward. The cuff may include multiple features, such as a recessed portion and an enlargeable portion arranged adjacent one another, in which the recessed portion may permit blood flow to lower cervical tissue.
Device, instrument and belt for tying cervix
A device, an instrument and a belt for tying the cervix are provided. The device includes the belt and the instrument. The belt is used to tie the cervix. The instrument includes a first outer pipe, a second outer pipe and two fork structures. The first outer pipe and the second outer pipe are rotatable to each other. The two fork structures are connected individually to corresponding axial ends of the first outer pipe and the second outer pipe, respectively, and insert into the belt detachably.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ACCESSING AND SEALING BODILY VESSELS AND CAVITIES
Everting balloon systems and methods for using the same are disclosed herein. The systems can be configured to access and dilate body lumen and cavities. For example, the systems can be used to dilate the cervix and access the uterine cavity. The systems can also be used to occlude the cervix. The systems can also be used to occlude the urethra.
Methods and devices for conduit occlusion
The present invention comprises systems, methods and devices for the delivery of compositions for occluding or of means for opening conduits. The implantable occlusive material may be delivered pre-formed or in situ cured and, may be a resorbable material that supports tissue ingrowth that eventually replaces the material leaving little or no original material in place. The delivery system is positioned to allow for placement of the occlusive material into the body conduit. Use of delivery systems, methods and devices for re-opening an occluded body conduit are also included.
Vaginal manipulator with a head extender
A vaginal manipulator includes a head, a tissue index, a door, and a head extender. The head has a first end connected to a shaft and a distal end opposite of the first end. The tissue index is disposed laterally across the head and is adapted to slide in a longitudinal direction between the first end and the distal end of the head. The door has a pivot portion attached to a distal portion of the head and a free portion that is movable away from the head. The head extender includes a post that is insertable into an orifice formed in the distal end of the head.
CERVICAL CERCLAGE WITH SURGICAL BUTTONS
Embodiments of the present invention provide a cervical cerclage apparatus and a method for performing a cervical cerclage. In an embodiment of the invention, a cervical cerclage apparatus includes, a length of suture and at least two stitched regions formed by the length of suture around an exterior surface of a cervix. The cervical cerclage apparatus further includes at least two surgical buttons attached the length of suture, each surgical button comprising an inner face and an outer face, wherein the inner face of each surgical button are configured to be placed against the exterior surface of the cervix between the stitched regions, wherein at least one of the surgical buttons comprises Progesterone.
