A clamping device for an external fixation system includes a clamp body including, a first jaw and a second jaw, wherein the first jaw and the second jaw form a groove configured to receive an external fixation component and a bore configured to receive a bone pin. The clamping device includes a locking assembly coupled to the clamp body and configured to change state between at least an unlocked state and a locked state, wherein the external fixation component is configured to translate within the groove and the bone pin is configured to translate within the bore when the locking assembly is in the unlocked state, and the first jaw and the second jaw restrict movement of the external fixation component within the groove and the bore restricts the bone pin from translating within the bore when the locking assembly is in the locked state.

An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. A distractor device includes a longitudinal guiding element and a longitudinal driving element, such as a threaded rod, which may be arranged substantially parallel to the guiding element such that the threaded rod may rotate about a rotation axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the guiding element. First and second distractor arms are arranged extending along first and second lateral axes from the guiding element. The first and second lateral axes are substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the guiding element. The first and second distractor arms are captively displaceable along the guiding element, such that the first and second distractor arms are displaceable away from each other by rotating the threaded rod in a first rotational direction, and towards each other by rotating the threaded rod in a second rotational direction, the second rotational direction being opposite to the first rotational direction.

A bone plate kit may be provided for a foot or ankle orthopedic procedure, such as a lapidus procedure. In some examples, the bone plate kit includes a sterile container that holds multiple unicortical bone plate fasteners and one or more bone plates. For example, the kit may contain two bone plates configured to be used together during a tarsal-metatarsal fusion procedure. Each of the two bone plates may be configured to span different regions of a tarsal-metatarsal joint. The unicortical bone plate fasteners can be used to secure the two bone plates to the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform of a patient undergoing a procedure. In some configurations, one of the bone plates is a helical bone plate while the other bone plate may or may not be a helical bone plate.
